Brick's ongoing chronicles with the internet. · 10:32pm May 28th, 2020
So, yeah. Today was... and still is a bit of a day.
Woke up this morning, after having one of the best nights sleep in days. 7 hours later, I'm regretting my choice to wake up.
Internet's gone out, for still currently unknown reasons -I'm betting lightning strike- and still have yet to get help, like actual helpful help from my service provider's IT department. Yay. It's Dante's inferno and the nine circles of hell.
And just to clear things up, I'm only managing to get this blog post up as with a bit of help from my tech saavy uncle from Alabama, I managed to finally figure out how to set up a Wi-Fi hotspot. That's... embarrassing, me being a part of generation whatsit and unable to figure out something so simple.
I am shame. Also, XFINITY? Y'all suck!
(hugs)
I'm sorry about that bud. *pats*
Ugh. Really sorry to hear all of that. DX
Hope to God that you manage to get things settled soon!

Guess what. We're still on hold. It's been... oh, at least nine hours since our internet went out and we've still been shuffled to the same person over and over. I'm starting to get the feeling XFinity only has two people on call right now. The worst part is, we're on a contract and that means we can't just jump ship to another provider.

In a word... shit.

Joy...
A day without internet is torture for those who surf the web as a past time or those whose primary source of entertainment is online. Still, don't feel too bad. I know a 50 something year old school teacher who's a lot more tech-savvy than the kids she teaches.
Ah the dreaded contracts, a company's only way to retain customers when their services starts to tank, well, besides improving on their service or this is a subtle marketing ploy to convince you to upgrade the package you have for an extra fee? Cause that's pretty much how the ISP works in my country.

Well, that's a bit embarrassing. At any rate, there is a new router on the way even as we speak.

Well, at least you've got a new router on the way. Best wishes with that because I know (from experience) that I *hate* troubles with the Internet!
