The Storm Kings army · 5:16pm May 21st, 2020
Remember those guys, the obviously slightly dimwitted yet intimidating soldiers of the Storm King? I wonder if it's possible that the ones we saw in Canterlot weren't the only soldiers in his army. Someone like the Storm King could have just started calling themselves a king, but where did he recruit those soldiers in the first place? He had to have some sort of place to recruit from. And what about his fleet of airships? He had to have built those. He also seems like the sort to put as many resources as possible into a conquest of other lands and nations, so I doubt the forces we saw were the only ones. Not only that, but i imagine that Tempest would probably be confident enough to not commit too many resources into the conquest of Canterlot, so where are the rest of them? It's obvious based on the end credits that the soldiers that were in Canterlot either surrendered or were ordered by Tempest to stand down.
But what about the rest? What happened to the rest of Storm Kings forces? It is stated that Tempest left to inform others about the Storm Kings defeat, but it's possible that she stayed for a little while before that. In that time however, who was in charge? I feel like this holds potential for a new villain, one who, like the Storm King, has no real power themselves, but instead has a military as their biggest strength and advantage. Not only that, but what about those green orbs that Tempest used to capture Celestia, Luna, Derpy, and Cadence? Are there more of them, and if so, could that same villain have seized control of them? This villain could have either been left in charge by the Storm King, only to seize full control upon hearing of his defeat, claiming to be the highest ranking commander since Tempest has turned traitor? Who knows, maybe he could even have been Tempest's rival.
Or maybe someone else took over. Let's say, someone who had been planning a coup, and upon hearing of what happened, took the opportunity to take over all of the Storm King's assets, including the facilities that produced those airships, and his troops. Tempest won't know of this, and when she arrives back in the Storm Kingdom, she will be ambushed and captured. In the meantime, this villain will build up the fleet, and make it so big that it can conquer all of Equestria with hardly a fight. All it takes is a well planned, precise attack to disable the nations defenders and royalty, learn from the Storm Kings mistakes, and Equestria will be theirs. The rest of the world would soon follow as well.
