Anyone watch the new She-Ra? · 1:36am May 20th, 2020
Running from 2018-2020 through five seasons, Netflix's She and the Princesses of Power has been one of my favorite cartoons over the last decade. Telling the tale of a teenager named Adora becoming the titular superhero, this series is an action-fantasy with breathtaking visuals and very compelling characters. I heavily recommend it.
As of the last Friday, May 15th, the series has concluded. I had really enjoyed the series up to the fifth season, but I was getting a little scared because a certain other show that started great (*cough* Voltron) really crashed and burned, and I was really concerned She-Ra was going to suffer the same fate. So what do I think of the ending? Honestly, it just may be my favorite ending of all time. It was sensational! The visuals, the action, the story, the relationships! I don't remember the last time a show actually took my breath away. I won't spoil it here. If you're curious, go and watch the show. I don't think you'll regret it
So, does anyone else watch She-Ra? What do you think? Did you enjoy ending?
Watched S1&2, then Uni decided that it wanted my undivided attention, and I never got back to it. From what I saw, it was genuinely entertaining, and a distinctly different take on the characters from the original 1980s incarnation (which, mind, was fun if very campy).

Yeah, I heard that the original version was (like most cartoons of that decade) primarily created to sell toys.
I'm sorry, I don't understand. What's Uni?
I watched a bit of season 1, wasn't really blown away.

University, probably.
I've watched it over and over. Must have binge-watched season five a half dozen times now. Catradora FTW!

Too each their own.
Ah. Well, I guess after nearly three years of graduating from it, the thought of attending a university really slips your mind.

I'm gonna binge watch it again this weekend. And yes, CATRADORA! Damn, their relationship that entire season was really something, huh? And to cap it all off like that? YES!

Heh. Trust me. Some reflexes never really go away. It's been decades now since school for me, and I still get ansty when September rolls around. Like I forgot to do something, or there's somewhere I'm supposed to be. :)

Something I noticed in the fifth season. Whenever Catra or Adora do anything awesome, the other blushes. Have you noticed that?

I did notice they get flustered, but I don't try to read every little thing as shipping. I try to be fair.

The original… was very much a vehicle to sell stuff, just like most of the shows of the time.
Uni = university. I'm working on my PhD in biology.
5265692
Ah. PhD? Wow.
I'd go to Grad School if I could afford it. Right now, I'm like $800 in debt, so at the very least I want to pay that off, first.

I've managed to avoid too much dept by teaching every semester. Hasn't made actually finishing any easier, but y'know, ya do what ya gotta do, ya'know?
I remember the original. Haven’t seen the remake but will add it to my list of shows to watch.

That said, I may give it a another whirl.

I recommend it. I don't regret watching it (unlike certain other shows).

You do you. We all have our tastes. I can respect your decisions.
