    River City Equestria Girls?

Seriously, that's Pinkie Pie on the left, and Rainbow Dash on the right. Tell me I'm wrong.

I will not write a fanfic about the two of them getting into all the fights.

    Probably.

An "I don't have livejournal anymore" sort of update.

    It snowed yesterday.

Which just reminded me how much I don't like winter. It wasn't even a bad snow, just enough of a dusting to linger for a little bit. First one of the season. And I even had the day off from work, due to my schedule, so it's not like I had to do anything ...

    So I didn't.

    Happy Halloween!

So yeah. Despite various distractions (Steam had Darkest Dungeon for UNDER FOUR BUCKS), I've managed to hammer out a ridiculously shippy conclusion to the self indulgent Rarijack story I started.

So that's fun? I gave myself a deadline to finish things on Oct 31, so that's what I did, dangit. Hopefully you guys will enjoy.

Well, I SAID I was going to be productive today ... · 5:43pm May 15th, 2020

Buuuut Netflix just dropped the final season of She-Ra.

-AND- they've got Avatar: The Last Airbender. Which is a show I actually have on DVD but it's easier to watch via streaming 'cause then you don't have 5 minutes of Spongebob commercials at the beginning of each disc.

-AND- my friends keep telling me S3 of Castlevania is really good (despite S2 being kind of padded out with countless scenes of sad people mumbling at each other).

-AND- I snagged Mass Effect: Andromeda for cheap a few days ago. I mean, the game is kind of janky (especially at first), but I'm kinda getting used to it (even if it's really fiddly in an effort to make you wanna do microtransactions. Seriously, the crafting system of that game is bunk).

-AND- uh, I'm posting on here about it. Whee? And again, I'm lucky in that I'm in a position where I can just hunker down and wait for the world to get slightly less mad. And, y'know, in THEORY I can use some of this time to write? Which ... I kinda have?

Just from a rough estimate, over the last two months or so, I've written ... roughly 40,000 words, spread out over a number of different projects. The 'spread out' thing is probably the big kicker there, as I've ostensibly been trying to focus on this space opera-y novel project. As of this blog post I've written 17,500 words or so thus far (though some of that is me recycling stuff from earlier, incomplete drafts). But still, progress? Kinda? My ultimate goal is to get this actually finished and in a publishable state at ... some point? I've even been thinking about self-publishing via Kindle Unlimited or somesuch ('cause seriously, there's a lot of crap on there, so it's a low bar, I guess?) but ... well, I'm probably getting ahead of myself in that I need to finish the dang thing first. Which I decidedly haven't done yet. Hm.

So yeah. Just procrastinating at this point. Think I'm gonna make myself some lunch and then it'll be back to work again.

In theory.

But what about you guys? Doing anything interesting to distract yourself from the madness of the outside world?

Author Interviewer

I've rediscovered how to write and am now apparently entering a contest for a fetish I do not have. :B The internet is strange.

Sadly, the outside world came knocking, or at least a select part of it. My workplace finally noticed that I'm spending way more time on not-work than work, and I'm operating under much closer scrutiny than before.

Intellectually, I know I'm disgustingly fortunate given how I can work from home. Emotionally, my anxiety and ADHD are in an epic wrestling match.

I have nine job interviews today. Literally, nine.

(Ok, they're with only three companies, but still).

S3 of Castlevania is really good.

I’m, dealing with college. And trying to get the latest things in DOOM Eternal. Much harder when I have zero interest in PvP, which is what gives you a lot of XP for the unlockables, but still.

Avatar: The Last Airbender is not only my favorite cartoon, it's one of my top five favorite shows. I need to rewatch it on Netflix soon.
