What not to do with your writings · 2:49am May 15th, 2020
When you are unsure of yourself as writer, even if you are unhappy with your old work, don't delete everything and run.
Akumokagetsu's blog does just that and he's taken more than a hundred of some of my favorite stories, not to mention many I had yet to read, away from me and tens of thousands of others, just because he didn't like what he wrote years ago.
Don't do that. Because now he's gone from a slight idol and inspiration of mine, to a disgrace and cautionary example. I won't do that to any of you, please don't do that to others.
Close your account but leave your stories. Create a new account with the MODS permission and help.
Take an hour and block comments and ratings on all your stories.
Don't spend and hour deleting your stories to make yourself feel better, because I know I'm not the only one upset by losing a story on this site and never finding it again because it's not here, not because I forgot it.
And yes, fimfetch.net exists, but I didn't know that until near the end of last year. Go donate them $5 and keep the old stories alive as without them, poor decisions like the one I mentioned would keep stories gone forever.
Yeah, that's not the way to do something, especially when you have so many people following you. Just because you hate it doesn't mean others do. I mean thats what I feel like with a lot of my projects. I have this vision that I rarely meet, to which I hate certain parts of it, but others like it, so I will improve it, not toss it unless I absolutely have to.

I live with that concern I can do better, but every artist and creative has that. Nothing adds up to our vision, but it touches those that experience our work in different ways.
Gosh, I'm really just so upset s/he did that.
Never saw the point in fretting over a story. I just mark it canceled and move on.
I also don't get why be upset over bad comments? So some random jackass makes a snide comment...fuck them, ignore it and keep going.

That's how we became friends!
