2 whole years since I stumbled upon this site, and all the people that post to it. When I got my first taste of the brony fandom, and all of you wonderful people in it. I'd just like to start this blog off by saying a big thank you to everyone here who've helped me discover my passion for this kind of stuff.
Almost immediately after I first made my account all those years ago, I started writing the stories bouncing around my head like Pinkie Pie after eating a 2 pound bag of sugar. And part of what became of that initial writing fervor was this: A Storm For The Ages
Now that I've posted a link to the story, don't read it! Well, I mean, you can read it if you want to. It's not that bad, but it's also not that good, and it's cancelled anyhow. Point is, soon you won't have to read that museum piece in order to experience the epic story projecting itself on the silver screen of my mind.
Because I'm rewriting it!
Same (ish) characters, same basic plot, but the whole story's being revamped. It's going to be like MLP: Infinity War, the epic finale to all of FiM that I wanted to see. Because that's the essence of my whole career here. I didn't write what the people wanted to read, I wrote what I wanted to read. And that isn't changing anytime soon.
The writing shall begin when I get finished with exams.
Be on the lookout. Hope you like it.
Happy Fimficversary! Here's looking forward to that rewrite.
Huh. Usually, I just write what I think the people want. I would say it's easier with comedies but my more darker works happen to be popular more quickly.
Spike's totally-not creepy obsession with Fluttercord being the exception because that funny story grew popular very quickly (but wasn't featured sadly).
But you must be doing something right. Then again, when I think of people who write what they want to read instead of a comprise between what they want and what the audience want, it's usually as some sort of coping mechanism.

Well, the main idea is that I don't write just because someone's paying me a commission to do XYZ, I write because I'm actually interested in the story that I'm telling and want it to be told well. If one is not at all interested in the stories one writes, then why are they even writing at all?

Ah, now I get it.
To be fair, I don't take commissions either (not by choice) but three of my stories were inspired by other people's ideas that I found interesting and I merely expanded upon them. Four if you count The End of Time (though that one you co-wrote along with your usual editing duties).

Honestly, I'm glad someone besides me is excited for this.
