Why Do You Favor the Light? · 8:39pm May 5th, 2020
Harbingers of harmonious light.
Why do you choose to live in the light?
Is it your hatred of darkness, or your fear of the unknown, or what lurks within the shadowy veil?
You acknowledge the importance of darkness, yet you shun it.
Does it frighten you? It is about as harmless as a fangless spider.
It may crawl. It may be terrifying to look at.
But there is no need to be scared of what cannot harm you.
What you should be afraid of, however, is your ignorance.
The light may be generous, but it is also full of pride. It claims everything that it touches, dispelling any darkness that lingers, leaving it a shadow. It puts itself first, leaving the darkness behind.
Know this: darkness doesn't push away. It welcomes all. And its naivety is what lulled evil into its embrace. Evil, typical as it is, saw its weakness and manipulated it for its wicked cause.
The truth is: the darkness is no different than the light. In fact, all of creation began in the dark. And when the world is no more, it will end in the dark.
I sought out the darkness and clung to it, not because I am evil. Do not mistake. I came to it because it beckoned me. I heard its sorrowful cries.
It needed attention. It needed love.
I am not the only one who sees darkness for what it truly is, and I impetrate those who fear it to give it a chance. Let go of your bias; let go of your ignorance; let go of your hatred towards it.
Give in to it, and it will swarm around you with love and acceptance.
It may cling to you should you turn to the light. But can you blame it?
Who am I, you ask? I am...WAS...a nobody. But now, you may refer to me as an ambassador of darkness.
