The Day of the Dead (Dia de los Muertos) is a now-famous tradition from ancient times that has been a huge part of Mexican Culture through the centuries. Like so many things in Mexico, it's influenced strongly by certain aspects of the Aztec people.
It has shaped the way those of us with that heritage look at life and death in many ways, and most importantly on the remembrance of, and honoring the deceased. We traditionally decorate little altars dedicated to the memories of those that passed away… but it's not a somber occasion.

Have you ever found yourself in a situation like this?

And then you magically find yourself in a suspiciously familiar site, except that you're not logged in, and it requires you to do so?
Well. Don't log in. This is a scam, and a cheap one at that.
There've been recent attempts to obtain Fimfiction users’ personal data, like passwords and/or emails through links like the one I'm making fun of above. And a distressing amount of people don't seem to know what phishing attempts are.

As should be obvious from 15 months without a feature, life has taken the Royal Canterlot Library curators in different directions. While there’s still plenty of awesome stories being written in the My Little Pony fandom, we’re no longer actively working to spotlight them, and it’s time to officially draw the project to a close.

Minor Rules and Reporting Update

Hope everyone is enjoying the new year.
Some small changes have been made to our rules as well as to the reporting process.
Rules
"No attacks directed at individuals or groups due to race, gender, gender identity, religion or sexual identity."
This better clarifies our previously ill-defined hate speech rule and includes groups as well as individual attacks.
"No celebration, glorification or encouragement of real life criminal activity."
This includes past, present and potential future crimes.

Keep forgetting to do a new post, I'll keep this quick.

Emails: You can now choose, in your settings to receive emails when people comment on, track, or favourite your stories!

Timezones: You can select your timezone in the user settings too. Not entirely exciting I guess.

Text truncating: You'll notice long story descriptions are now truncated, a bit like youtube descriptions. The limit before it'll show the "show more" button is 400 characters.

Users list changes: Add a couple of new columns on the users page.

New themes: Added an Applejack and Rainbow Dash theme.

Ratings: Rewrote almost all my code for rating stories. It's a lot more elegant and interactive now, and shows the actually numerical rating. It also shows which stories you've rated.

Unread list: On the category/latest/top etc pages, you can now filter out stories which have no new chapters for you to read. Handy!

That's about all. I have a DVD cover I made for the EqD competition too, which I'll post on Thursday when the competition goes up on EqD.

On the Rainbow Dash theme, the banner and the menu bar is not aligned.

Something else: Would it be possible to implement a pre-reader system? Like having an option to make it have a [Requires Pre-readers] and an option to opt-in for pre-reading, where pre-readers have to give feedback.
Or maybe, have a pre-reader category of users (I think that's how EqD fanfics go through) that are the only people allowed to read things that have the [Requires Pre-readers] tag, what supply feedback.

I don't know, just something to help with pre-reading.

Well right now, I do have a pre-reader category of uses. I have 2 mods in that category. But really, I'm not using it for pre-reading at all. It's just to moderate content to make sure it's acceptable for the site. Pre-reading on EqD is for making sure it's a high quality. I think what you're speaking about is editorial stuff which I think is outside the scope of the site.

Could you possibly add the ability to delete chapters and edit chapters' names?
I have a fanfic that I've re-wrote completely, and now the chapter titles are inaccurate.

You can already edit chapter names. Go to the chapter, click edit, and a text box appears at the top.

One thing I would love to see, is having the option to see how many people are 'tracking' your stories.

Keep up the good work, I think the site is coming along very nicely.

Wow. This site is in beta and its already so much better designed than FF.net. I swear, if they put some damn work into their site. They only just put character lists up for this shoe, and even then theyve got FIM mixed in with the old MLP which just makes it awkward.

I think im gonna use this place for my MLP FF needs now. It just seems so clean and neat and impressive, i cant help it.

Also, yknow. Trixie at the top just makes it. Theres something weirdly comforting about coming onto a site and having a blue unicorn greet me with "That is my fetish ".

I'm not sure if you'll see this, but there's one thing you might want to fix about the unread tracked chapters. When reading a chapter, it will still consider it "unread" until a new page is loaded. So if it says "1 unread chapter," and I click to start reading that chapter, it still says I have one to read. Not all that pressing, but seems like a glitch to me.
