Poll – Which member of the Triforce Trio would fit best as which CMC? · 5:10pm Apr 24th, 2020
So, I had a very neat Idea for an, non-canon, omake for my Power of Freedom story: After the end of the current story the Triforce Wielders would end up reincarnating as the Cutie Mark Crusaders, shortly before the return of Nightmare Moon. 
Shenanigans would ensue.
But that raised the question, which of the Trio would be reincarnated as which CMC?
Since I didn’t have a strong preference I decided to let you all decide. So please post your comment stating which CMC would be a best fit for which of the Triforce Wielders, and the choice with the most votes shall be what I will go with.

Ps: The next chapter of TPoF is proceeding nicely and has passed its halfway point, so no worries in that regard.

Well then, let's see. Ganondorf as Sweetie Belle, hew the singing over a bit into speech-craft, and apply the fashion interest to elegant and functional armor. Rarity gets to deal with the clash between her delicate sensibilities and her rough-and-tumble sister. On the one hoof, a fashion boutique is hardly the place for a homemade forge, but on the other hoof those filigree-inlaid horseshoes are simply divine!
Link is Apple Bloom, the hardworking but very odd duck of the Apple family, strong evidence that Pinkie Pie really is related to them. After growing up rebellious and unsure of herself Applejack was prepared and determined to guide her little sister through the pitfalls of youth, but she's often wrongfooted by Apple Bloom's surprising and unconventional maturity.
Zelda is Scootaloo, a Pegasus filly of uncertain origin, fascinated by magic and constantly frustrated by her late-blooming Pegasus abilities. Introduced to her now-iconic scooter by Rainbow Dash as a way to exercise her underdeveloped flight magic, Scootaloo often has to be reminded to stop overthinking things after getting caught up in an idea.

Counter-counter point: They can build things like catapults with scraps, duct tape and enthusiasm, that does demonstrate some level of wisdom.
Jokes aside, the omake would lean heavily towards the comedy aspect of things.
Like for example Applejack having to learn to deal with the fact that Apple Bloom(Zelda) is incredibly smart for her age and keeps speaking highly techinical 'nonsense'.

I picked this mainly for Sweetiedorf to Scoff at the Gear the Royal Guard is currently wearing.
I mean Sure Her previous Incarnation laid down the Enchantments and basic style of the Gear currently used.
It stood the the test of Time and various wars Equestria fought But really no one attempting Improvement or innovation on it just will not stand.
Sweetiedorf as a Craftspony forever striving for Perfection in her art rather than world Conqueror.

Well, when I thought about the Triforce of Power, the first CMC to come to mind was Apple Bloom. Apple buckin's in the family after all. Her dabbling in alchemical magic under Zecora's only more suggestive.
Scootaloo is without any doubt the courageous daredevil of the three. Often alone, or in the care of an Aunt (vs Link's Uncle), and always on a quest, be it for a cutie mark, or to fly.
And there's a reason Sweetie Belle is jokingly called Dictionary Filly. She's smart as a whip. And she definitely has an instinctive appreciation for finer things. Princess-fine things, perhaps?
So if the cycle of reincarnation ol' Dorfy-hooves was trying to break is gonna continue after all, just with more friendship and less world conquerey infighting, that's how I'd divide it. Apple Bloom is Ganon. Sweetie is Zelda. And Scootaloo is Link.

It just won't be a sequel because I already know how the sequel will go and this is not it.

Scootaloo definitely embodies Courage the most, even if it borders on recklessness.
Wisdom is a bit harder, but given her upbringing, I'd say Sweetie Belle has the best chance of liking books and spells.
Which leaves Power for Apple Bloom. Not that she isn't wise in her own down-to-earth kind of way.
So, basically the same tribes. Which, given the Zelda lore with the Hylians and Gerudo, would kind of make sense anyway. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

Well where's the fun in the obvious pick? We've already got a full story coming to us of them being the tribes that suit them, why not see how they deal with being the tribes that don't suit them? After all, the Triforces remain with the three bearers regardless of their form, so worthiness isn't a concern.

Indeed. I have a lot of it planned out for the actual sequels, The Courage of Hope and the Wisdom of Peace.
My plan is for this to be a 'what if' spin off, a non-canon sequel of sorts in which they get reincarnated as the CMC after their current lives of TPoF end.
I think I will keep the vote open until a couple of days after the next update, which if all goes well should be up by the next weekend.

I went with Gannon for Scoots because I can imagine the Triforce being able to allow her to fly. Also I can’t imagine her as Zelda.
I went with Link for Applebloom because her facing the chimera in the Fire Swamp is really front and center in my mind right now. Otherwise I could see her as any 3 of them.
And Sweetie Belle as Zelda because she seems to be the biggest voice of reason from what I remember.
I’m just going to follow the other story as far a tribes go.
