My Reasons for Creating EqG Lupinranger vs. Patranger · 5:16pm Apr 16th, 2020
Some of you are wondering why would I write a story such as this.
Thing is, you guys know that one of the reasons why is because I've grown to appreciate the sentai Kaitou Sentai Lupinranger vs. Keisatsu Sentai Patranger. The sentai was ambitious where instead of just one big team, you have two smaller teams. It had a cops vs. robbers motif where one team fight to recover what they lost and another team fight for justice and world peace. It was really cool but it had a lot of problems. One being that there was more focus on the Lupins than the Pats and it showed in the merchandising such as the Splash Trigger and the Siren Striker. Not only that but the Patrangers were there because of a possible mandate and the original plan was that it would be a successor to Jetman. But then plans change... it happened when Bandai was kicked out of the Power Rangers. That possibly happened when Hasbro bought Power Rangers from Saban in 2018. I can be wrong. Despite it doing well in the ratings, the series was a financial disaster in terms of toy sales. A reason why they went for Ryusoulger.
But yeah, one of my main motivations was cause of that show and I wanted to do my own take. But I took it up a notch by crossing it over with the Carmen Sandiego Netflix series. Season 2 already ended and I wait for when the third season drops. So what do you get when a team of thieves have to battle a team of agents. That's my idea. But I wanted to take it one step further, setting it in an alternate universe that doesn't affect continuity. I went it up a notch by extending the core teams from 4 Rangers to 5 each and especially 6. I take it up a notch by even including other things that I plan to add such as Lupin the Third and his role in all this. It's an insane project, one that I hope to be proud of. Plus, I want to continue improving my skills as a writer. It's the least I can do and it's the least I an hope to achieve.
I hope you all enjoy the next chapter of this story because the Patrangers are going to have their time to shine.
