Easter- Because Having A Normal Holiday With My Family Would Disturb The Balance Of The Universe · 5:11am Apr 13th, 2020
Happy Easter to everybody. I hope you guys are having a better day than I am.
My family is always a shit show. I mean, it's like a guarantee. But I always hope that we can have a normal holiday for once. But, obviously, that doesn't happen much. Today is no exception.
Today, not long after I got out of the shower, there was a knock on my front door. My mom opens it, and lo and behold, there are cops at the door. They were doing a welfare check on my Dad, because apparently he made some post on facebook that sounded suicidal and somebody called them. So they talked with my Dad and then left, and he just kind of... stayed out of the house pretty much? Just until a little before dinner. He was a little pissy, but there wasn't any explosive fights, so thank God for that.
It's so frustrating to be born into a family where something explosive or crazy happens on all the holidays. There's no semblance of family togetherness, no... Shared joy. My uncle hasn't even said anything to me all day, even when I wished him a happy easter. Mom and I did Easter stuff together- we dyed eggs and I helped with Easter dinner. Men stayed out all day. There's no bonding. It's so depressing.
I got a really great Easter present, though. An Electric Tea Kettle. I love it. Making tea has never been so fast! Now I get why the UK uses them instead of microwaves! It's SO MUCH faster! I love it.
Other than that, I'm just trying to survive the quarantine. I'm praying for all of you guys who are having a hard time in quarantine. We'll get through this together.
