Thank you, dad. · 2:18pm Apr 10th, 2020
Tears of empathy,
Rain down on me,
Consult me about your insults to me,
Inform me about your cruelty on me,
Ask and all is forgiven,
If I understood your intentions,
I'd say you were trying to make it up to me,
If so, then my judgements are set aside,
If that's what it takes for us to coincide,
I no longer want to fight,
I only want my father back,
On that day that I find it again, my respect,
I will be more than glad.
Thank you, dearest,
It's all I wanted from you.
- With love, your son, Ribe.
That’s nice.
that struck a chord
That's really good, Brony. I used to go spend whole Summers with my Paternal Grandparents when I was a kid & after I had started teaching myself how to play the guitar and started writing songs & poetry in May of 2000 I would bring my guitar with me when my family would go down for holidays & such. She had read some of my poetry and she always liked my singing, my poetry & my guitar playing, so I know if she would have liked this poem that I wrote in memory of her the night my she passed away in April 2011. It was printed on the back of the bulletins for the funeral & I read it at the service.
Here Today, Gone Tomorrow
We all knew it would be just a matter of time
And that to keep you here longer would have been a crime
For yours was a soul that the Lord had let us borrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
Our lives are so bleak now, our world filled with sorrow
You gone home to Heaven, so we shouldn't be sad
We should treasure having known you & all the time together that we had
Our hearts should be glad you're at peace, not filled with sorrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
When the time came for God to take you home again
We knew that we would miss you but that we would see you again
Yes, yours was a soul that the Lord had let us borrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
Our lives are so bleak now, our world filled with sorrow
You gone home to Heaven, so we shouldn't be sad
We should treasure having known you & all the time together that we had
Our hearts should be glad you're at peace, not filled with sorrow
Here today, gone tomorrow
