    April Fusser's Day

The Fussiest Fic There Ever Was

If you're not aware, I am addicted to fussers (big floppa cats). As such, it is imperative (some might say mandatory) that you read this immensely momentous fussfic authored by the amazing IncredibEE. I seriously cannot recommend it enough.

    Happy April Fusser's day <3

    Nothing to sell

I was going to make a post selling my things but then I realized I have nothing functional left to sell. If you want to buy a broken pair of headphones or an acoustic guitar with a broken string or a piano with half the keys missing let me know.

Also let me know if you'd like to help me make rent this month.

furries and fandoms · 2:14am Mar 31st, 2020

henlo. it feels like the ponyverse is as slow as it's gonna get these days, and we are wondering where to congregate or poke our noses into looking for work in other fandoms or with fur-folk in general. as a pone-liker, fur-folk are some of our favorite to interact with, as we seem to be on similar planes of arbitrary fixation.

also, fandoms? we had been thinking about throwing some Steven Universe ideas out into the void. is AO3 the only place to do that? anywhere else we should look for fandom commissions?

it's quarantine day infinity, and we're exactly as crazy as we were yesterday. when we went out for groceries this morning we had a panic attack and cried the whole time while we were holding Squinky. Squinky is our friend who is a stuffed animal lemur. he is pink and he has a pink and green tail. we got him at the thrift store.

hello.

please.

I dunno about Steven Universe, but if you wanna check out the furry fiction lands, the main hubs are Fur Affinity, SoFurry and InkBunny. There are others, but I don’t remember or frequent them much.

I don't know where to find furry stuff, but Ao3 and FF.net basically are the only other fandom stuff places I know.

The furry fandom (inasmuch as it still is a singular entity, which is a really big stretch these days) has been undergoing a bunch of election-politics and identity-politics drama for the past *mumble* years, to a degree that makes our worst nonsense seem like nothing. If you're friends with someone in Group A, everyone in Groups B-Z will claim you're literally worse than [insert your least favorite historical figure here] and hate you on general principle. Buyer beware.

Most of the reason for this is that there are literally large groups of neo-Nazi furs. I've been in the fandom since the 90's and it's always been a bit of a problem, but it's never been quite this bad, and it's led to some severe reactions from those of us who are horrified by it. I'm not justifying arbitrary intolerance, but the intolerance toward Nazis and avowed racists at least should not be surprising.

Of these, IB is the only one whose website is secure, API not crap, and the moderation light and fair. FA's always been awful (they actually lossy-compress artist's artwork if it's too big and you don't know how to get around it, without even telling you), but it's like Facebook in that furs use it because everyfurry else uses it.

Haven't been to the larger furry conventions in 20 years so I couldn't tell you how they are these days. But if you can go to MFM, I'd highly recommend it. Very small, relax-a-con, of about 450-500. There's been a very strong pony presence since 2012 and I feel MFM is the most welcoming of any convention in matters of fandom and lifestyle.

Fandom's been dying since 2018. Hate to see it go, but the boom that happened is kinda fading out. I'd say as soon as season 4, a lot of people started losing interest. Most musicians have too.

Worm on SpaceBattles is still very active, if you want to write.
