State of the Scribe: April 2024

You know what they say about the best laid plans? I'll be real brief with this update, for reasons that will be self-evident.

State of the Scribe: February 2024

Another month, albeit the shortest of the year. I still haven't had a chance to get into the process side of my writing and write that detailed plan for the year, been too busy writing a novel. Guess that's a good problem to have.

State of the Scribe: January 2024

This is exactly the 71st month I've posted a patreon calendar. Almost but not quite six years of writing fanfic, sharing all these ideas with you that would otherwise stay trapped in my head. I couldn't begin this post, and the beginning of a new year without expressing my profound thanks to everyone who keeps supporting me. Your help, big or small, is the only reason I'm still able to write

New Story: The First Willowbrook Christmas!

Hey pones! A Merry Christmas to those who celebrate! Last year I wrote a short story for the holiday, but the editing pushed it back for a little while. For those who enjoyed Sisters of Willowbrook, I have a story for you to check out! The final chapter will get posted tomorrow:

Through the Aurora: 2 days left! · 10:41pm Mar 29th, 2020

Hey everyone, just wanted to pass the message on that the Through the Aurora hardcover print is just above done fundraising. We smashed our goal, and the book will still be made, though probably a little delayed given the global pandemic.

It was another world when this project was released, it's crazy thinking about how quickly everything changed. But if you'd still like in on the book, check it out here: https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/through-the-aurora-hardcover-print/#/

Also, there's still a discord open for submissions if anyone has ideas for things they'd really like to see in the new story sections--if there are things you feel were missed, plot threads you'd like resolved, that kind of thing, submit them here: https://discord.gg/79DzmBb.

The scope of the project hasn't changed, though the timeline might be adjusted a little as shipping and printing are impacted by COVID. Production on our end is still steaming along though.

Thanks so much to everyone who has decided to support so far, or who backs right here at the close. Stay safe out there.

Did you get all the grammar and spelling errors checked to see if any were in there?

Is there likely to be another printing down the line, or alternatively might you be able to hold onto a copy for me? I've been wanting to get one, but given the ongoing events I doubt I'll be able to join the current Indiegogo campaign before it ends. (Short version: I have the money needed, but it's all in physical cash and I can't deposit it until after I've gotten to visit the bank and adjust some account stuff in person, and the disruptions going on at the moment mean that hasn't been possible this month and I'm not optimistic things will get better in the next day-and-a-half.)

I plan on purchasing a dozen or so more books with my own funds when the printing happens, to hold for people in your very situation. So no worries.

Looks like i was about six hours late (at least, it was 6AM here in the EST timezone).

Nothing on the page says the campaign is over, and the contribution buttons are still active... but the page is tracking a current total, and what the total was at midnight... did i just throw around 87 CAD into the void?

The campaign will stay open until I actually get the books printed. Since the artists need another moth to finish the chapter assets, I thought I should leave the project open. Only when I actually give the printer a final number will things close for good.

Oh, that's a relief to hear. I look forward to when i can add this story to the four other FIMFics i currently have hardcopies of. I held off initially until i was nearly finished reading the story here.

Alright, I finally have the bank stuff cleared up, so I can actually pay for a copy now. Is the extended Indiegogo campaign still open, or do I need to arrange some other method?

You can still use the Indiegogo, at least until the printing begins. We're still waiting on a few chapter art pieces, so we're getting close.

Excellent, and done.
