    Check In

    Afternoon/evening folks!

Sorry I haven't been checking in as often as I should; rest assured I'm not dead, I'm still here, just been silent as of late. Still working on fics, but also constantly debating with myself on what to focus on next, wanted to make some new stuff that isn't just Shattered or Star Wars. Wanna bring more folks in, do somethin' new.

    Top Ten Films/Series Of 2023/Reflections

First off, Happy New Year's Eve everyone!

Hard to believe another year has passed, hasn't it? *sighs* how time has flown by. A lot's happened this year; more stories, more creativity and entertainment has come, and I've learned more about myself, and I am very glad for that.

Answering Questions! · 6:09pm Mar 28th, 2020

Our questions are in, so let us answer them!

AntiBronyBenSwolo asks:

Have you ever thought of creating your own Siren OC?

I have... but I cannot draw to save my life, I cannot pay anyone to draw it for me, and even then, I cannot think or come up with a design that fully captures me; my personality, my likings, all of that.

Bricklayer asks:

Any games you're looking forwards to?

...also, to parrot BenSwolo, why not make your own Siren OC?

Well I know it's not new, but I want to buy BroForce, it looks insanely fun, and having played it once before with a friend... holy shit, that was awesome. I gotta play it, I need it man! And I am eager to get the DLC for Cuphead... assuming it'll even be coming this year. We were told it'd release this year, but it's not.

And my answer to Ben above.

Scholarly-Cimmerian asks:

1) We've talked a bit about old monster movies, especially ones from the 50s. What're your favorites in that regard?

2) What made you decide to ship Trixie and Adagio in the Shattered Rainbow Rock story?

3) There any major influences you can name for your writing?

4) Got any favorite cartoons from recent years? Like say, those from the last decade?

5) Best scary movie you've seen? Or alternately, *worst* scary movie?

1. Favorite... aww damn. Hmm. I'll need to come back to you on that. Most of the ones I've seen are in the cheesy... but not good department. Earth Vs The Spider, Giant Gila Monster, Giant Claw, Beginning of the End, few examples.

2. That's... actually a good question. I don't know what brought that one. I don't know if someone suggested it, or if my mind decided to make it so, but... yeah it happened.

3. A few. MLP (of course). Transformers, Ninjago, Star Wars, Stranger Things, basically whatever is on my mind at the time is what influences. Sometimes it'll be content related to the 80s, other times it'll be fixated on Fallout 4, or other times it'll be on Star Wars, my influences go all over the damn place.

4. Favorite cartoons, at least from our 2010s... If I had to name ones that came specifically from that era, I would have to go with My Little Pony (naturally), Regular Show (really love the characters, the humor, the adventures, it's a ton of fun), and Ninjago: Masters Of Spinjitzu (Like, almost friggin' everything about it drew me to it, TV show is awesome.)

5. Best... oooh damn, that is a good question. Though okay, I don't know if this is absolute best... but I can name two examples off the top of my head. Alien (1979) and Predator (1987). Alien is just a great horror movie, it starts off nice and slow, letting you get into it's atmosphere. It gives great characters that you actually sympathize with and even relate to, they're basically the equivalents of truckers. And then when you finally get the reveal of the alien and that first chestburster scene... Oh jesus, it gets freaky. Just the thought of this alien species being born inside your freaking body, and then bursting out is... it's horrifying! :rainbowderp: And as for Predator; it's just a straight up classic. Simple story turned into a legit freaky movie. It's got some fun action sequences, and probably one of the best sci-fi monsters to date; the Predator. The Predator is just an awesome design, and I love how this thing isn't here to take over the world or get revenge or anything; he's just here to do one simple thing, hunt for sport. Reminds me of The Most Dangerous Game, where a hunter decides to attempt what he sees is the biggest challenge, which is hunting man itself.

As for worst... oooh that's another good question. There's a lot of bad ones out there, and there's many factors that can explain why a horror film is bad. Generic, gimmicky, rehash of something already seen, poorly adapted from an established source material, there could be any number of reason for a horror film to be bad. Though one that I know everyone knows I don't like as one of the worst, is The Gallows, from 2015. Looking back, I was really overblowing my hate, and honestly, it doesn't really warrant that much hate that I had given it... but it doesn't mean the movie is GOOD.

Such a simple idea that could have been done interesting; a spirit of a kid who was killed in a tragic accident haunts the school at night. Not a bad idea in theory, but there's so many things wrong.

... I'd elaborate more, but I got more questions to answer and I don't wanna bog it don't so much, so let's keep going :twilightblush:

Morbid the Brony asks:

Best siren?

Ah.. hmm. ... Aww damn, that's impossible. Um... All three?

HolyCross9 asks:

Who was your first pet?

First pet I remember was a doggo I had when I was around 6, he was fluffy. Though sadly I don't have many memories of him cause, well, he died when I was that age, or maybe 7. It was around that time. But, I dunno, I guess it didn't hit me that much, I wasn't that close with him, honestly. Though that still don't change the fact that I hope he's in a better place.

BradyBunch asks:

What career have you thought of in the future? And where does your storytelling fit in with it, like if you can write stories for a hobby?

Well at one point I did aspire to be a filmmaker, maybe working with indie people. And if I could integrate my storytelling, I would like to be a writer for some scripts, I got a lot of great ideas bouncin' in my head. And as I've seen more and more of recently, Hollywood don't seem to have much in terms of originality or new. Most of the time now it's reboots, remakes, rehashing old properties with most of the time it being no effort put into them. Or movies done with wrong intentions.

I think we need to get back to the roots of classic Hollywood; where movies were made to make art and money. Now it feels more like they're being made for cash-grabs. Don't get me wrong, it's important to make money, and occasionally if you have to do something like a remake to get some money back, fine, but the least you can do is provide some more effort. Now I'm not saying all of Hollywood is like this, far from it, but it seems like a good majority of it feels like that.

So... um. Yeah. Writing. Wanna try that. :twilightblush:

RNBW asks:

Favorite Japanese developed fighting game?

I... cannot say I have one. :twilightblush:

My Little Epona asks:

Best pony?

Um... All of them best pony? :twilightblush:

Marcthelightspark2004 asks:

ever play Undertale?

I cannot say I have, no.

sonicfan05 asks:

1) Have you seen any MLP's: Stop Motion Shorts? If so, what are your thoughts?

2) What is your favorite video game home console?

3) Chocolate or Vanilla?

4) Have you heard that IDW recently released a new EqG comic? Do you plan to read it? And the MLP's "Season 10" comics?

5) What ever happened to some of your other Shattered stories like "The Game"?

6) Any hints of what is next for the Shattered series?

1. I cannot say I have seen them, so I can't give thoughts. :twilightblush:

2. PS3.

3. Both. Both are delicious. :rainbowkiss:

4l I have. And I do wanna read it, but i don't know how the hell I can purchase it with what's going on right now. Same goes for Season 10, it sounds fun.

5. Ooooh... oooh boy. Okay. Ya'll deserve an answer. I took down 'The Game' because... it's crap. It's a piece of crap that I have yet to figure out why it spawned in my head or even why I decided to make it. It's way too dark, it's poorly written, the actual mystery is done horridly, oh and the one thing I hated that came from it... in comments fighting. There comes a point where certain comments regarding certain characters start to get reaaaally stale, infuriating, and stress inducing. :ajbemused::ajsleepy: So yeah. Now you know. Don't wanna repeat that again.

6. Well I've got a few stories in the vault being worked on, but I had a few ideas bouncin' in my head. I do have an AU story for Rollercoaster of Friendship which has chapters done. And I am collabing again, workin' on an Everfree focused as well. Though seperated from those, I was contemplating thinking about making a possible anthology series or one-shot focused on Amethyst Star from that series... in 1986. Hehe. I dunno, sounds fun in my head.

And there's still that idea of the Rainbooms (canon) meeting the Shattered Dazzlings...:duck: Dat's going to be a big adventure, for sure.

MyLittleBronyDude asks:

Do you like D&D? And if so, what’s your favourite class?

I... cannot say I do.

Viper Pit asks:

Favourite pokemon?

Not the biggest Pokemon fan, but I gotta admit; Magickarp and Eevee are probably favs.

Malcontent asks:

Do the sirens deserve punishment for doing what is instinctively their basic survival traits as seen in Rainbow Rocks and the MetaVerse? :)

Ah... hmm. *perches and thinks* ... Rainbow Rocks, they were clearly trying to take over the planet and shared zero remorse. MetaVerse; I'mma come back to you on that one.

DarkSpider asks:

Here's a question I've been curious about. What inspired you to make the choices you did for Shattered?

Also, we ever gonna see a story where the main Rainbooms and the SRR Dazzlings meet?

Well as far as inspiration goes, I dunno. I remember thinking of just reversing a ton of things (since this is an AU and all) but then I thought about putting my own spin on characters and ideas. For example, I remember thinking that the Dazzlings were Sirens and so I looked 'em up for ideas, and I remembered that they were creatures who lured in sailors and they're a big staple in pirate lore, so I figured that could be something fun to use. Hence why the Dazzlings have a bit of that classy Siren feel and singing calling to the classic Jolly Sailor Bold song. Really, it kind of varies on my mind and how I am feeling at the time.

And speaking of that... I do have a story locked in the depths of my vault that I sooo wanna bring out for you guys with relation to that very idea... :duck:

But my mind needs to lock onto the other projects and get those out of the way before I even think about doing this.

CSC asks:

Marvel or DC?

Any more silly sequels to “One Smol Ponecat”?

Cookie?

1. Ah... Hmm. Crap, I don't know.

2. Hmm. Well I was thinkin' of doin' a possible spin-off, setting it in the Canon world. With Sunset holding Adagio turned into a smol pone :rainbowkiss:

3. Yes please. :rainbowkiss::twilightsmile:

Machine asks:

I thought of Sci-Flashlight like Sci-Twi and Flash Sentry doing it or Tails and Cosmo appear out a nowhere or Ash and Serena or Midnight Sparkle or me and HUMMER or something?

... That makes no sense.

Lance Darkwater asks:

Are you by any chance willing to have a good shag~?

Oh shit, I thought you were answering these questions as Adagio!

*head tilts* ... I also don't understand what that means.

MysteryMuffin asks:

What's your favourite colour?
What's your favourite video game?
Which character from MLP would you share a house with?

1. All of 'em! :rainbowwild:

2. hmm... Okay I don't have THE favorite, but I have a bunch of favorites. Nancy Drew games, the Lego games, Cuphead, GTA 5, LA Noire, etc.

3. Oooh, oh that's a hard question. Hmm... Okay, well I have it down to a few ideas; Applejack, Adagio Dazzle, Sonata Dusk, Sunset Shimmer, Octavia Melody, Autumn Blaze, Silverstream, those are probably my top ones.

Shadowmane PX-41 asks:

What is the weirdest real-life thing you’ve ever seen?

Ah... hmm. That's also a good question. Weirdest, weirdest...Aww damn, I don't know >.<

Anyway, that's all the questions answered! I hope I gave ya'll my best answers, and thank you so much for asking them!

I'm difficult to understand ok.

Sorry but I’m distracted by the adorable prancing Eevee. :derpytongue2:

Thank YOU so much for answering!

For question four, I think it's possible to get the comics digitally, but I'm not sure.

As for question five, I understand. I hope my question didn't upset you. :fluttershysad:

5230507

Iss okay silly. You didn't upset me

*snuzzles*

5230509
Good!

*snuzzles back*

Eevee=adorable

Marcthelightspark2004 asks:

ever play Undertale?

I cannot say I have, no.

Good, you're better off staying away from it and it's... insane fanbase.

5230519
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again.

UNDERTALE IS NOT A BAD GAME. AND IT NEVER WILL BE A BAD GAME. THE PEOPLE IN THE FANDOM ARE JUST NUTTERS.

Also:

and it's... insane fanbase.

It is insane fanbase?

As Futurama has taught me, you always say its’ instead of it’s for referring to something. Not say it’s to mean it is.

Thanks for answering my questions! It was nice to read through this. ^_^

I shall standby then ;) thanks!

5230532
Oh, I'm sure the game is fine, it's just... the fanbase has turned me off it. Ugh.

5230618
It was apparently so good that it warranted a sequel called “Deltarune.”

Also a good time, if for the very reason that it completely did a 180 and said “your choices do not matter in this world”, but still allowed a neutral, pacifist, or genocidal outlook on each encounter.

So, only Injustice or Mortal Kombat?

5230742

I haven't actually played either of those :twilightblush:
