Prereader verdict on new Midnight Rising chapter is in...

And unfortunately, that verdict is unanimous:

Complaints were: too meta, hard to follow, does nothing to advance the plot, and potentially makes things worse while trying to fix them.

Still waiting on Midnight Rising prereads...

Which are particularly important this time, because the first preread I got back was negative. As it came from AJ_Aficionado, whose opinions I particularly value mostly because he’s more interested in the story than the sex, I tend to give what he said about it credence but still want to hear from everyone else before I start making changes to the new chapter.

Mind changed on removing the griffon arc from Midnight Rising + teaser

After receiving pleas from multiple readers to keep the Enter the Griffon chapters in place, I have decided to do so and go with my original plan, which was to simply offer new readers the chance

    One final thing...

I have been advised by no less an authority than CHS acting Vice-Principal Ms. Cheerilee to use the upcoming Midnight Rising chapter as strictly a recap to relaunch the story, and not get into Lemon Zest until the following chapter, when I can devote a full entry to it without any split in focus. No, really. She did. You’ll see what I mean when the chapter launches, but basically, I’m

I have reached a decision on Midnight Rising...

Thanks in part to one final comment that came to me over PM last night. It wasn't a mean comment. In fact, it was nothing but a simple, politely asked question from a reader I hadn't heard from before: do you have to read the griffon chapters to understand what comes after?

Work on Firefly continues · 8:42pm Mar 18th, 2020

After two quick chapter releases. it’s once again a question of momentum--I have it, so let’s continue with it. Hope you folks enjoyed the two chapters in 5 days! Coming attractions? Well, for starters, the gryphons ready their renewed offensive while back in Cloudsdale, Typhoon isn’t done with Thunderbolt yet and engages in negotiations with the Nightborne on behalf of the Princess. If I’m particularly ambitious, It’ll be time for another map as well.

I’d like to welcome all new readers to the story--to both stories, I should say, as both Before the Storm and Into the Storm got at least three new likes--and thank everyone who commented. Needless to say, plenty more is yet planned and major battles lie ahead. Can’t say when the next chapter will be ready but I’ll aim to have it done before month’s end.

Awesome news, and I can't wait to see what happens in the next chapter!

FimFic is absolutely helping me through this corona BS, thanks for helping out with our Firefly fix! :rainbowwild:

Assuming a 2% universal kill rate along with a 100% infection rate of every man, woman and child, COVID-19 can be expected to kill 200 million people globally in the first wave alone. The sooner people grasp this, the sooner we can take the actions necessary to defeat Coronavirus.

I don’t believe those assumptions are valid. I think we’re going to find a much lower fatality rate when all is said and done for how many mild cases were never reported. And I can pretty much promise it ain’t gonna infect everyone on the planet in the first wave, either. Warmer weather, travel bans, ‘social isolation’ and an uncertain saturation level will determine much how damage it will actually do.

None of which is to say I don’t think it’s serious, just not as serious as they’re saying. But what I think is meaningless, except insofar as I choose to take the proper precautions. The next few weeks to months will tell the tale.

5224477 I know you will!
Keep up the rad work, okay?
And stay safe.

Those were worst-case scenario numbers.

>10 billion humans
> 100% infection
> 2% Mortality Rate
> No immunity

Oh, and stay healthy. Given everything going on
