    Audiobook Announcement

I'm excited to announce that I'm working on an audiobook for Hooves of Fate. I started with Chapter 63: Rivers. This way, long-time readers of HoF can reorient themselves to the momentum of the story before the upcoming release of Chapter 64 (text) this Saturday.

    The Voice of the People

They can cancel Friendship is Magic. They can cancel Make Your Mark. But they can never silence the voice of the people.

    Flurry Heart's Reign of Terror

I stayed up till 2am last night talking with a friend - orchestrating a plot - theorizing what precisely it would take for (young adult) Flurry Heart to successfully depose both of her parents, and Twilight Sparkle.

Help! My Heart is Full of Pony! - Thank You · 8:56pm Mar 15th, 2020

As most of you who follow this blog have probably already observed, I tend to look for ways to relate pony to everyday life. I try to see the best in people.

With all of the profiteering going on right now, however, (and the selifish hoardng of basic necessities like toilet paper), that has been a pretty difficult task. Yesterday, my local grocery store had a line that stretched halfway across the parking lot just to get in the door.

Once inside, it was a mad house, (or to put things in equine terms, a stampede). I'm not going to waste any time explaining the experience. I'm sure many of you have either been living it, or have read about it extensively on your news feeds.

When I finally got to the register, I saw something, however, that gave me a glimmer of hope. A customer told the cashier "thank you for your service," and the cashier darn near burst into tears.

It was a moment of sanity - of kindness - in a world turned upside down by panic.

To everyone who has the sort of job that you can't perform remotely from home, I want to personally thank you for your service as well. You are now, and have always been, the rope that holds civilization together.

Doctors, and nurses, and firefighters, are all deserving of incredible praise, especially now considering the potential health risks of simply showing up to work, but I also want to give a shout out to all the retail workers, janitors, garbage collectors, postal workers, etc.

Society teaches us to look down on "unskilled labor," but in reality, there is no such thing. I'm going to say that again because it bears repeating.

There is no such thing as unskilled labor.

So thank you for your service. All of you. I'm sorry for what you're going through right now.

Earth ponies do have magic.

Well said!

"and the selifish hoardng of basic necessities like toilet paper"
Just earlier today my housemates and I delivered some distilled water to a friend who needs it for medical reasons, because apparently people started hoarding that out of the stores, too.
(We have our own water distilling machine.)

And the grocery store I do my shopping at was quite crowded on my Friday trip, too. Not as bad as you describe, but I do shop fairly late in the evening; I don't know what it was like earlier.

And yes, thank you, everyone out there still keeping things running. You are tremendously valuable even if, as Sprocket said, often underrated.

Earth ponies do have magic, just as great and sometimes more so than any other ponies.

Thank you, Sprocket for the acknowledgement that those who serve and care the most, though under appreciated and much abused, are always there to help and comfort others.

Luna be with them!
