Ko-fi · 11:45pm Mar 12th, 2020
A.P.O.N.I. asks:
Do you have a Ko-Fi?
Okay. Here we go.
Deep breath.
Yes. I do.
Now, let me explain.
I've been debating about setting up a Ko-fi for quite some time now. I've thought it over, and over again. I've given myself heartburn as I've thought about if I should set one up or not.
Thing is, I love writing. When I first started publishing stories here, I just wanted to share some of my ideas and to see if I had any skill with writing. I've stated before that the success of No Nose was completely unexpected, and I've loved interacting with all of the readers who have enjoyed my stories.
And I don't want that to change. I don't want people to think that they have any sort of obligation to donate.
Plus, I totally understand that there are more important things for people to spend their money on, especially during this whole COVID-19 mess. There's always the landlord to pay, and food, and the utility bills, and what-have-you.
So while I do have a Ko-fi right over here, I hope that it is understood that there is absolutely no obligation or expectation for anyone to donate. I'll keep writing all the same, irrespective of what happens (ha ha, I'm so clever), but if you should choose to share a few dollars, you will have my deepest gratitude.
The greatest payment, by far, is the fact that you took the time to read my pony words.
Oooooooh, I see now. Lure us in with your fantastic writing, likeable characters, and adorably hilarious stories, and then whammo! The old money con! I see through your games, you Irrespectable, Insidious, Irrespective Idiot!!!

All so very true.
You see how I gave myself heartburn?
I have no funds for you, but I offer you my continued friendship and support

And that is far more than I deserve.
Again, that's a major reason why I felt so much angst over this. If the situation was flipped, I would have no money to donate, too. It still doesn't feel quite right to even have the option out there.
But I'll still continue to write all the same, and I'll always appreciate readers like you who read and comment on my stuff. :)
There is nothing wrong about getting paid for writing.
On the other hoof, some people would like to show more appreciation for your hard work that a simple “Ata boy!” Having a Ko-fi at least gives them the option.
I certainly don’t need any money donated to me, but I have a ko-fi account so that if someone wants to, they can.
