    Unreal.

Hello all. Like always when I make posts on here these days... it's been a while, eh?

I do not even know where to begin, exactly. I know it has been an eternity since I posted a piece of writing on here, and that even includes blog posts... but that's okay.

MLP Gen 5 Movie: A Review (but only sorta since like half this review is gonna talk about Hitch Trailblazer lol)

To be honest, prior to watching the MLP Gen 5 movie, I had literally ZERO hype for it. I walked into it with virtually no expectations... and honestly, I was actually expecting it to be kinda, well, bad.

    Semester is Over LMAO

Quote from my last blog: "However, the semester is starting back up, and it's looking busy as always, soooo I will have limited time to work on it. The thing, though? I am still gonna keep working on it. I'll make time."

    Chapter 2 Posted!

Hey y'all. I managed to post the 2nd chapter of my niche passion project in a semi-reasonable time frame! WOW! Granted, it's not the "BIG ONE" yet, but I already have a start on that one and it's going well. This chapter is sort of the calm before the storm... and it'll be a storm for sure.

It looks like bacterial bronchitis... PLUS a word about the CDC! · 11:23pm Mar 9th, 2020

Hi everyone. So it would seem that my sister and I both have bacterial bronchitis. A bit... convenient that it happened at roughly the same time, but my sister and I both had been experiencing some viral shit earlier in February and it looks like some bacteria piggybacked off of it and caused bronchitis. Still sick currently, but doing better than a week ago.

Now, the following paragraphs are going to be the most vitriolic, angry, and alarmist piece of writing I think I've ever written. If you are an anxious person, do NOT read the following passage. Main takeaway? Prepare yourself to be locked in your apartment or house for the next long while. However, if you are still one of those people who is sleeping on Coronavirus and doesn't think it's a big deal... well, I hope the following paragraphs make you panic. You fucking need it.

...

That being said... I'm amazed. I'm stunned at the CDC and Trump Administration. They are so, utterly incompetent and so fucking braindead that... actually, no. Fuck that. This is intentional. A high schooler with 2 days of education about the Coronavirus and sole responsibility of managing the pandemic in the USA with zero dollars in funding could do a better job. The CDC isn't the "Center for Disease Control", they're the Center for Disease Catching. Because that's what every American is about to have happen to them. They're about to catch Coronavirus and the government has ensured that it will happen.

Did you know that the USA hasn't even tested 2,000 people as of today? Did you also know that South Korea has tested over 100,000? Did you know that Norway, with a population of only about 5 million, has tested 5,000 people? Did you know that the CDC STILL WILL NOT TEST PEOPLE WITH SYMPTOMS IF THEY HAVE NO TRAVEL HISTORY in almost all cases? Did you know that South Korea's hospitalization rate for this disease is approaching 40%?

Italy and China and South Korea are not issuing quarantines for shits and giggles. They're not doing it because they're "paranoid". In one month, every single motherfucker who still thinks that this shit is "contained" or that "it's not that bad" or that it's "just the flu" is about to feel like the dumbest fucking moronic shit-eating retard on the face of the Earth. You know what it's going to take to get people to take this shit seriously in the USA? People dropping dead in the middle of Walmart. Aging celebrities dying in the news. The government all getting infected.

Actually... that third one doesn't sound so bad, does it?

In South Korea, where there is an actual healthcare system in place, the death rate appears to be holding steady at between 0.5 and 1 percent. But I'm so silly, how foolish of me to look at South Korea's numbers when, in my own country, people who can't afford insulin simply are left to die. The death rate here? I wouldn't be surprised if it approached 6%. We have done fucking absolutely NOTHING to contain this hideous sickness in this country, and in 1.5 months there won't be any hospital beds left to hold people. 20% of the elderly exposed to this disease in this country are going to fucking die, and they're going to be murdered by the CDC and the Trump Administration's complete lack of policy and, for that matter, complete lack of basic human decency. Or basic intelligence.

When I get this thing, I'm gonna be knocked on my ass for weeks, but in the end, I'll be okay. But other people, particularly the elderly? I'm terrified, and I'm disgusted. All this fucking country's leadership cares about is trying to postpone the inevitable stock market crash so that the rich can withdraw their money and diversify their portfolios to bonds and shit before they all hole up in their bunkers. The only rich Americans who seems to give a two-shit flying fuck about anything are Bill and Melinda Gates, but they won't be enough.

I hate this country now. I hate its pathological hatred for the working class and poor, the elderly, and the sick. At this point it's so commonplace that it's not even shocking anymore. You heard it here first: at least 50 million people will die from this globally, and you know which country is going to be the poster-child for how not to deal with pandemics? The good ol' USofA. When all is said and done, I think 5 million people here will be dead. Not even IRAN is going to get fucked harder than us when all is said and done. And you know what else? I bet you vaccines will cost thousands of dollars in the USofA when they finally get distributed. You know, just to fuck us even harder.

USA! USA! We're number one!

Shit... Just recently, this shit came to Poland. Currently, we got only 16 people infected total, but already, there are talks about how isolating whole cities or even voivodeships (Italy style) may be necessary in the future, if this spreads.

Looking at what's happening in Italy where 25% of the entire country is quarantined, how the hell can the USA's government be so stupid to ignore this? This make no sense :facehoof:

how the hell can the USA's government be so stupid to ignore this? This make no sense :facehoof:

At this point, all of Italy is now on lockdown. ALL of Italy. And yet, the USA leadership doesn't care. All they care about is "stopping panic" AKA "keeping the stock market high."

And the other reason? They're fucking stupid. That's it. Our leadership is fucking moronic to the point that it's unbelievable. And to be frank, the leadership of some European countries, such as the Netherlands and Belgium, are also fucking moronic as they haven't even remotely considered lockdowns or stopping travel from infected areas whatsoever. In fact, they've even made statements to the contrary.

And then, you have Trump. A man who says that coronavirus is a creation of "fake news" to make him look bad. A whole different level of insane. The ONLY silver lining is that Trump has virtually guaranteed that he will not be re-elected thanks to his response to this virus, but as to who replaces him? We'll see how many potential candidates are even alive by November.

Here's hoping you're recovered before you get it. If your immune system isn't ready... well, let's just hope it doesn't come to that.

While everyone else is grabbing all the masks and hand sanitizer, make sure you empty the orange juice section.

Oh really? You mind telling me how that's the case? Seems to me that a 40% hospitalization rate is pretty not overblown, but I'll let you elaborate in detail and provide me evidence as to how I'm wrong.

So I guess millions of dead elderly and sick don't mean anything to you, then? And did you know that at least 30% of people aged 18-35 with this virus need hospitalization?

Official estimates put COVID-19 at between 25-35x deadlier than seasonal flu, and around 40x deadlier than swine flu. Additionally, R0 for this disease, which is a measure of how contagious it is, is 3.0 according to most recent estimates, making it roughly twice as contagious as 2009's swine flu. Again, do those figures sound like a big deal to you, perhaps?

Define "overblown". Who exactly is "overblowing " this?

At a 2% fatality rate and infecting 40% of the global population, this disease is on track to kill 61.6 million people. Swine flu killed, at the absolute highest estimates, 575,000 globally. At a 1% fatality rate (which is very conservative), that's still 30.8 million dead. Additionally, people who are sick and don't need hospitalization are still incapacitated for weeks in over half of cases. What do you think will happen to the global economy when that happens?

Again, define "overblown". No one is saying this is the end of civilization, but is it really fucking serious to a point we haven't seen in a century? You better fucking believe it. This shit will be in history books 100 years from now.

That's a "1 minute ago" reply to a 9 minute video, so I copied the YouTube transcript at about the 8:30 mark.

So if people are sufficiently worried, there’s much less to worry about, but if no one is worried, that’s when you should worry.

If we act like it's a big deal, then the variable for spreading it drops slightly, which translates to a huge impact when dealing with exponentials. If we don't act like it's a big deal, that has an exponential effect in the opposite direction.

Antibiotics that I'm taking will undoubtedly fuck a little bit with my immune system, but that having been said, I'm confident in my own safety since it's not like antibiotics destroy everything. Still stocking up on multivitamins and stuff, though.

Absolutely fucking not an overreaction at all. Their hospitals are completely overwhelmed with an influx of critical patients, and if they don't significantly slow the number of people getting infected over time, their hospitals (and all their patients) are fucked. During Spanish Flu in 1918-1919, areas that quarantined earlier for at least a month had significantly reduced fatality and mortality rates compared to areas like Philly that had the "fuck it" approach and left everything open. I'm talking a difference in several percentage points, not just a little bit.

If anything, Italy should have shut everything down at least a week ago.

You do realize that while mostly old dies, a good percentage of people in their prime STILL need hospitalization? If enough people get infected, hospitals won't be able to handle it, and then the death rate will go up. When that happens, even if you're 'young and beautiful,' the chances of death will rise significantly. And even if the best-case scenario will happen, and only the elderly will die, so what? Fuck the elderly?

I also thought this was overblown, but seeing how fast this shit spreads, I don't think so anymore. The problem is not mortality but the speed of spreading. Hospitals can handle a few COVID cases, but once a certain number is reached, there won't be enough doctors (or medication) to go around. And with many companies closing and/or slowing down, shortages of other goods are just around the corner.

OK, so out of curiosity, what would have to happen for you to stop considering it as overblown?

My question was what needs to happen so that YOU start considering it as dangerous...

You keep repeating the same things I was repeating a week ago, and you're right, as of now, most infected people have only mild symptoms. BUT that's not the issue here. The problem is that this shit is VERY contagious. And when the NUMBER of infected needing hospital care increases beyond the capability of Hospitals for Infectious Diseases (which, btw. is really NOT that much), then people WILL start dying MUCH faster (there is only so many respirators, and doctors available). That will disrupt the economy even more and will require drastic measures.

I don't know what makes you believe that:

All of Italy going into quarantine is an overreaction

But given the number of cases and the spreading speed, it seems pretty reasonable to me. Better to contains this thing as much as possible right now, then fight it later on with 10x/100x the number of infected.

This will make the case as to why we need medicare for all.
