    Untold Stories

I always had a bunch of stories I wanted to tell here but I truly lacked the discipline and drive to actually write them out.

    Drawing was more my thing…

This one was based around a story where Ponyville had a Sheriff by the name of Ranger.
Shamelessly, I ship him with Princess Booksmarts

New Job and a bit doodling

Quit my job of 10 years teaching to work at a mill. Can’t say I like the job but the fact that it pays double what I made I suppose I can’t complain.

12 hour shifts and working only half the days of the month is also a switch.

    I’m still around, but…

    Hey all!

Haven’t been active of late and wanted to come around and let you all know what’s up with me…

Had Covid…I’m fine. Wasn’t really sick, just fatigued.

Doing the carnivore diet again. Feeling great but damn is there temptation everywhere.

    Now for the hard part…

In terms of writing: I’m done.

Another Pic with my X-men OC.

I won’t bore you with backstory but I will lay down what power he has, which I gotta say I think would be kinda cool.

Plant Empath. Imagine being, anywhere plants are, from tall trees, blades of Grass, to simple mold. Not imagine they had the ability to speak to you, to tell you where danger was how to avoid it. In addition you could share the plants knowledge on Medicine and even get a boost from them.

In my opinion, OC’s work best when powers are simple and seemingly not overtly spectacular, but the character can hone them to make this work to their advantage.

But that’s just me.

I agree.
Looking awesome, as always!

Hoo boy, do I like me some super power characters.

Often the biggest mistake people make is making their OC too powerfull from the getgo. There's nothing wrong with having a character who can benchpress a battleship, BUT, have them grow into it. half the fun is watching a character grow into and reaching the full potential of their power. Then have them smack people around with a battleship.

On the other hand, there is something really cool and satisfying about having a character with a power that at first glance seems rather underwhelming, and then have that character use their powers in a way that is really clever, creative and/or much more powerfull than it would seem at first glance.

One of my personal favorites in that regard is gravity control. Most people at first think of gravity powers as only good for making things heavier or lighter. But it could be used for soooo much more. Flight comes to mind. creating defensive barriers that trap incoming objects in a dense gravity field. creating micro singularities that can be used to devastating offensive effect. And that's before we even consider using gravity to manipulate more exotic patricles and stuff. The list goes on.

Plant empathy, as you mentioned, is another such power that at first glance seems rather underwhelming. But in the hands of a clever author can be used in very creative ways. I think it's a good choice.
