Hey, I know it's been a while... Just an update on how I'm doing and that I'm trying to write again. · 11:00pm Feb 7th, 2020

Hi guys and girls, this is the sprite speaking. I've been on and off and waffling about for a long time again, but I'm here. I started to slide back into some pretty heavy drug use, but fortunately some friends have been helping me get back to a better place, you know?

It's become pretty clear that I start to turn to chems whenever I don't have stuff to do, so I'm trying to do some more writing. Not sure how that'll turn out, or if anyone besides me will ever see some or even most of it, but at this point I just want to keep my mind away from the bad thoughts cuz those always lead even worse places.

Obviously most of you aren't here for my personality. I've been a shit person in the past and I can't guarantee I won't be a shit person in the future, but for those of you who enjoy my work regardless of the garbage I get myself into, just know that there's at least a small chance you're going to see more of it. I've got some sadbox stuff going, but also some less-than-negative work in progress, which is a first for me I guess.

As much as I'd like to give estimates on how close to finished things are (and there are some that are close) or post dates and go around asking for prereaders for specific stuff, I'm gonna mostly try and refrain from doing so because I've noticed I have a tendency to feel done with a chapter or story and then decide it's not done and close it off to beta-readers halfway through, which is really rude on my part. I don't want to be doing that anymore, so I guess if you want to help at any junction just contact me on Discord and we can brainstorm and I'll probably give you access to something eventually, even if it's not what you originally wanted. Sorry. =(

More positively, I've got some stuff in the works you might either be familiar with or find interesting.

Cosmogony In Reverse: [Dark comedy + family fluff] Stars villain protagonists Discord & Screwball taking over Equestria as father and daughter during S2. A few chapters complete.

Solitary Locust (Chapter... 10? 11? idr): This is actually pretty far in, and I've solved most of the problems I've had with it, but it's slow going and anyone who wants to help me out is genuinely welcome. I also have to ret-con some of the story because of the haphazard way it was originally written.

Let Me Be Your Albatross: Psychological horror story combining early fandom tropes with modern fears about social media. Stars Twilight & The Girls, alternates between 1st and 3rd person. Single-chapter.

Let You Be My Cross: [sad, family] A jaded Twilight adopts a young Starlight Glimmer, but it's... hard, to see even this filly as innocent after spending years at her elder form's mercy in the time loop. Several chapters complete.

Whirlybird: [Slice of life, sad] Rainbow Dash tells Scootaloo a story from her fillyhood about why it's never okay to be a bully... not even to another bully. Single-chapter. Partially complete.

Just a Little Pony: [hurt/comfort, friendship, general feel-good] A mare named Tar just wants to be a good little pony. Ponyville helps. Large amount of material.

Make Some Friends, Twilight: [friendship, adventure] Twilight Sparkle, an isolated unicorn filly, is spurred by her mentor to make friends at a much younger age. Less about the adult Elements and more about adorable foalhood shenanigans. Some material complete.

The Big Take: Starlight goes on multiple adventures through the timelines she experienced in order to right the wrongs she made by creating them. Very long, lots of material complete and incomplete.

Nettlekiss Digs a Very Deep Hole: [Weird, fantasy, comedy, twisted... meta???] A pegacorn called Nettlekiss digs a hole in her back yard and encounters things like changelings who don't know they're changelings, ex-schoolyard bullies turned washouts, multiple destructive devices, and Twilight Sparkle talking to ponies about numbers. Single-chapter, partially complete.

Lonely Dark: A romance based on the deranged and surprisingly powerful bond between two very lonely, very hurt individuals. Multiple chapters complete.

Now She Sleeps With One Eye Open...: Twilight was naive to take Starlight at her word when she surrendered. Complete, custom B&W art but I can't remember who did it so if it was you, please let me know, okay? I love it and want to give credit/drop some bux on coloring it.

Mommy's Adopted a Monster...: [comedy/family] Twilight and her surrogate daughter, Nyx, adopt Filly!Anon into their family. Unfortunately, Nonny is less than willing to accept the love of a pair of filthy alicorn mary-sues. Some material complete.

To Know the Wind: If Dash was born a unicorn.

World of Starlight: [Comedy, wtf] Early in her time as Starlight's mentor, Twilight awakens to find that her student has attempted a novel, if existentially horrifying, solution to a perceived friendship problem. Single-chapter, almost finished.

Lukombine: [family, feel-good, sol] When her sister goes to jail, Flitter adopts her disabled niece, Lukombine, and cares for her. Some existing material is missing for some reason. Custom art.

A Flowering Infinity: [Dark] Starlight discovers True Time Travel. Some material complete.

Crazy Glue: [Hurt/Comfort, friendship] Centuries into Twilight Sparkle's rule, a pony-like-thing tumbles out of the statue where the filly Cozy Glow was sealed... but this punishment was not meant for the mortal, and the price of immortality is heavy indeed.

Spike Gets Badass: [stoner comedy] Spike smokes weed and unlocks the sacred dragon knowledge of how to be a super badass.

Tardy Twilight: [sad] Finished, unposted story from 2012 based on a defunct blog that the artist gave me permission to create. The blog no longer exists, and I don't even have the artist's name; only a few scattered pieces of artwork and the story I wrote for them. Unsure if should post since I have no one to dedicate it to. If anyone knows the name of the author of the now-disappeared Tardy Twilight blog, please, let me know. Complete save for beta-reading.

Nopony Left Behind: An alternate take on Our Town. Outline and some material complete.

Ponies in the Cold: Pony apocalypse bonding story with windigos and zombies as the bad guys; mostly centers around sociopath!Trixie, leader!Starlight, and brain-damaged!Twilight. Many chapters finished, 50,000+ words written.

The Dancer: Based on the idea that Moondancer has been hiding her cutie mark since she got it. Custom art, many chapters finished.

Close Enough to Touch: [Drama] Lightning Dust just wants to outdo Dash once in her life, no matter what the cost. Single-chapter, 1/2 complete.

Don't Break (Chapter 3): In which Twilight proves she can fight back, and Starlight enlists a helper.

Cold Lightning: Still belongs to Paul if he wants it.

Uzumaki: Junji Ito adaptation. Have tons of brainstorming stuff for this, and will start prodding my boyfriend about it cuz it's good for him to not be lazy, too.

...And ah actually there's more stuff I've skipped over but literally I'm getting bored of listing off all this shit I've worked on so just tell me what you'd like to see more of I guess.

If you want to talk to me, message me on Discord or in my PM's, or send me your discord in PM's or something. Would like to join some writing servers again so I can get back into it if anyone wants me.

Please no drama, I know I'm bad at avoiding it but it seems to drive me back towards drugs way faster so I'm doing everything I can to stay un-dramafied. If there's going to be problems I'd rather they be my own making than someone needling me, because it means I have something I can identify and change about myself. Also I won't be posting on groups or doing those stupidly long bad joke reviews; those always lead to bad things and really I've done everything I can with them that was ever relevant.

Might show up at a con or something. I miss ponies. They've always made me happy in my heart.

Anybody who replies, thank you for reading.

Yay, thanks. I'll try to do my best to make good of it and not vanish again.

Way back a writer called Garbo was pretty much the first person I followed on this site, he had a pre-reader/editor on one of his stories who was delving into a dark story of their own.
So, I got hooked on Locust.
Then the same author posted multiple fics with both heavier and lighter tones. Some of which I've fav'd, many I've upthumb'd.
... and maybe laughed along at some parqua sillyness on the way.

I have not interacted much, but for what it's worth, I'm glad to see that you are still here, para. After all crap, you still check in.
Ponies are indeed a good heart-warmer, especially in gray times.
Keep safe and take care of yourself.

Also, many of those prompts do sound good. I'll keep an eye out.

Glad to see you're back!

I'm always around.

Feel free to hit me up anytime.

Through a door in the air
On a crumbling stair
In a clear and rushing vein
In a tunnel full of rain
In a piece of yellow light
On the skin of my eye

Are you there?

...

Yes.

After so long, yes you are. This is truly a blessed day.

You’re the author who originally inspired me to stop lurking around this site and actually make an account to start uploading stories of my own. Your tragic portrayals of Lightning Dust were the first fics I ever truly fell for.

You have all the encouragement that I can communicate via text. Truly and honestly you do.

Good to see you back and well! Stay cool, and remember that Lightning Dust is best pony.

It's nice to see a familiar face, and it's great to see so many story ideas and completed ones in that list, especially the ones with Starlight in.

#only standard western characters supported

これは何の意味ですか? 😂

But really I'm glad you see you back! I'm even happier that things are improving. My PMs are totally free so don't be shy ^.^

Oh my god, you're back I'm so happy you're still around I was so worried about you! like you have no idea. <3 <3 <3

I still want to collab with you someday. I don't care if it's porn or not, I don't do porn so much now, but you've always been one of my favorite authors and agjdhjfh/

Garbo was my first or second follower or something... I hope he's doing alright. Thanks for sticking around! Come to think of it you're pretty familiar too... I think I remember you too as one of my early followers. Wow, some people really did stick around. Thank you.

also i just noticed that parqua reference ahahaha

5199126

Thanks! <3 You're welcome to talk anytime.

5199154

Thanks, Skeeter, and you know I could never hate you--

But--

If this is the new Aku I don't even want to know what the new Samurai Jack looks like.

Have I ever read/faved/commented any of your stuff? Just that comment by itself makes me want to check out what you have to offer in case I haven't or you've changed your name or I'm getting alzheimer's or something.

I wish I still had that pic of Lightning doing a shockboom while her flying glasses crack and she cries desperately. It's nowhere to be found now, but it was amazing and encapsulated the character perfectly.

Maybe I will do a blog post full of Lightning pics sometime. Also I want to do another one of just pictures of Trixie being awkward and fake because that has been my mood for a while. One of the other nearly finished stories I forgot to mention has to do with that--the culmination of Trixie's inability to accept her own flaws.

5199354

Yay. This is honestly a surprise, having so many positive comments. Thank you and I will definitely send you a message. <3

5199418

C'mon. You really think I'd abandon the GREAT FLAMING EYEBROWS?

Derpy Duck was just far too good not to use.

No worries that you don’t actually know me; like I said, I was an accountless lurker back in the day who just happened to be a fan of your stuff. That said, your raw, realistic portrayals of a dangerously mentally ill Lightning Dust did eventually inspire me to take a swing at the premise myself using Cozy Glow. Reading your pitch for Crazy Glue is both exciting and intimidating. The former because I’ll get to see how the author who originally inspired me interprets Cozy Glow, and the latter because it’s pretty much a guarantee that your version of her will blow mine out of the water.

Am I gushing? If I am, I’m sorry. This is the first time I’ve ever spoken to you directly, and I’ve been a distant admirer of your works for years. Hearing you’re back on the up-and-up is a very big deal.

Hey, welcome back Sprite! Good to see ya!

5199418

I still want to collab with you someday.

Likewise. I'm hoping we can get something going when my current workload lightens up.

5199418
Nice to see your LD love wasn't overexaggerated. My boy Casketbase77 over there recommended me to you, so give him some love, will ya?

Hey, it's great to see you coming back.
Hope you cab use this as a good way to get away from the chems.
I have family that has drug issues so to hear you say your trying to step back from all of that... well id say i was proud of you even if i dont know you.
Im glad you have good friends to help you through this too.

Oh hey!
It must be strange for someone to suddenly comment up a story just when you've returned, huh?
Well, welcome back regardless. A

Were you thinking about continuing Every Night is a Night of Nightmares?

Let me know if you need any help with this, I don't write much any more but I'd be happy to assist if you need it.

Hey Parasprite! I still remember how much you helped me so long ago with my own Changling Twilight story. Before you came into the picture I was ready to just pack it up...Anyway, I just wanted to say... I'm here for you like you were for me!

We need to re-read Solitary Lotus to get a hold of the ret-cons. But if you need a pre-reader, you can always hit us up. We do some pretty solid work on that front.
