Chapter 16, PaulAsaran and No Man's Sky · 10:18am Feb 2nd, 2020
Hey, little flowers! Golly, has it been three weeks already? Heh, time really flies when you're having fun!
A while ago when I started this draft, I was having a lot of trouble getting through the first scene—Twilight's scene. There were a lot of options in how I could take it, and a lot of them could've made things more complicated or involved than the schedule really had time for. As I deliberated over this question I ended up buying No Man's Sky based on the golden word of Internet Historian, and then I kept on playing it. And I played it some more. Sweet Luna, it's only been a week and I have 38 hours on this game!
But with some assistance from my faithful editor PsyonicG, I've finally got past it, and now I'm 3k words into the draft. I'm hoping I'll have it done by this Friday! Of course, I'm always hoping I'll have any given draft done by this Friday, so that is a slightly meaningless statement, but really, it'd be pretty disgusting if it took me a whole month to write one chapter, huh?
In other news, after over a year of waiting, I've finally received my review from PaulAsaran! He loved Empty Horizons and is looking forwards to reading the sequel as soon as I finish it, so I really better get on this, eh? I admit I'm a little disappointed my review was nearly the shortest of the lot, but I guess most of the really interesting content doesn't happen until act two, huh?
For those that care—probably none of you—I've also been promoted to an FTL position in my ArmA 3 unit, so that's nice.

I did notice that your review was short, and I wondered if I shouldn't have expanded upon it and talked more about, say, the worldbuilding or the action or the underwater sequences. There really was so much I could have talked about, and I remain uncertain as to why I didn't. Heck, just the cameos of old friends gone mad warranted its own paragraph. So I suppose I'm sorry for not making the review all it should have been.

Ah, well. I guess we'll just have to make the sequel review twice as long as the others to make it even!

Stream-of-consciousness reviews ftw.
(Well, probably not really.)
