Well how do I feel about this show? Well in all honesty it's not what Hasbro promised us which was MLP Gen 5. I am surprised that their doing Ponylife because they have been leaking MLP Gen 5 for a few years now and this TV show Ponylife is most likely going to be damage control or a TV show that is going during the development of MLP Gen 5. I believe that Hasbro hasn't got done with MLP Gen 5 and so they have decided to hand some of the rights to Nickelodeon to make a MLP TV show. Which means that Nickelodeon will be using their own writer's for Ponylife and it gives Hasbro more time to develop Mlp Gen 5. The strange part is that they should have been done already I mean why end MLP Gen 4 when your not even done with Gen 5. As far as I can tell Ponylife will be targeted for little girls but MLP Gen 5 is going to target the Brony fandom. I have seen game companies do this a lot but this leaves more questions than answers. If they knew that they weren't ready to premiere MLP Gen 5 then why would they end MLP Gen 4? I mean there are a whole entire series of comics coming out called My Little Pony Friendship Is Magic Season 10 which means that the writers on MLP already came up with the stories in Season 10. This means at some point Hasbro was thinking about making a Season 10 and making that the last season instead of season 9. The only reason why I could see Hasbro doing this is because they knew that they needed more time on Mlp Gen 5. I just see Ponylife as a time buyer because if Ponylife fails then Hasbro can wash their hands off of the TV show very quickly but if the show succeeds then it would buy Hasbro enough time to work on Mlp Gen 5. Ponylife could also become a Testing site for MLP Gen 5 but I highly doubt it. As for my personal opinion I am not excited for Ponylife nor am I disappointed. I will watch it and then give an opinion. Here's something that you have to recognize though if Hasbro is really letting Nickelodeon make Ponylife as a way of buying time for MLP Gen 5 then Ponylife won't be as good as Mlp Gen 5.
The comics are written by writers from the community, not the producers of the show.
And last I heard, Ponylife is going to be more like Newborn Cuties(also known as gen 3.5), as in an unofficial show just to have something new pony to watch while we wait for gen 5 to be finished.
