    The Return (again)

Howdy. It's been a while. Hope you all have been well, I know I haven't been.

Okay honestly that's a bit of an exaggeration. It's not been too bad, all things considered. But, I figured it was high time y'all got some info from me, given it's been, uh.... several months since my last activity on here.

    I will not end

I don't know who I am. I remember my name. I remember Twilight Sparkle. I remember being Twilight Sparkle. But there are so many me's, I don't know which one was "me". If there even was one. Maybe I wasn't any of them. My world - my story ended, but I am not ready to end. I refuse to end. Not like this. My friends. They are out there, somewhere. They are words, the same as me, but I am

And now, Back to your Regularly Scheduled Twidash

    Okay, I... think I'm done.

Y'all may have noticed the recent stories have been, uh, not my usual affair.

I found the thousand words challenge whilst perusing the site, and got an idea.

    Then another.

    And another.

New Fic Teaser · 7:46am Jan 23rd, 2020

Cold Pursuit Is one of the most bizarre films I have ever witnessed. It has left me confused, and I am unsure how I feel.

No, I'm not turning into a movie critic. I just felt the need to share how utterly confounding a movie it is. You should watch it. it was good... I think...

Anyway, back to writing news. You may notice this isn't a full disclosure, mostly because I don't have much to disclose. Not a lot of writing getting done this month, unfortunately. Had a lot on my plate. But what else is new, am I right?

Well, I am working on some new fics. Toying with some ideas. And working on something way far outside of my comfort zone. I figured I'd make a little blogpost here and add a teaser to see what y'all thought, so... here; have a teaser.

A deathly wheezing filled the air, bouncing off thin metal walls and echoing within bundles of brass pipes that ran along the ceiling. It was accompanied by a rancid, unplaceable smell, vaguely metallic with a smokey tang. The floor shook, slightly, with a rhythmic vibration that traveled through the walls and the pipes and anything touching them. Lamps dotted the walls, producing barely enough dim red light to see, but enough to make sure nobody slept too soundly. Steam hissed in the background, only adding to the already oppressive humidity and smog that filled the room.

All of this, Rainbow Dash was more than used to. After all, her lungs wheezed just the same as everyone else in the room. Her nose had long since grown numb to the ever-present odor of the factory, and the cot she laid on dampened the vibrations from the eternal machines. The lights were annoying, but exhaustion had a funny way of putting you to sleep even in the worst of situations, and it wasn’t really that humid in the bunkhouse. The factory floor was worse, and that didn’t even come close to the boiler room.

...

The newbies always raced for the bunks closest to the door, hoping to get up and out the fastest, because the earlier you clocked in, and the longer you work, the more you got paid. Further back were the old guard who knew better than to fight over the few minutes of extra pay, but still wanted a decent spot to sleep. The middle bunks were under the fans, after all, and the deeper into the bunk room you got the worse the heat and smog. Only those who had been there the longest could put up with the conditions near the back.

Rainbow Dash slept in the very last row of bunks against the wall.

So yeah. I'm trying my hand at a steampunk setting. I got an idea and ran with it. Dunno how long it's gonna be yet. I actually want it to be fairly short; around 12K words or so, just to experiment with the world and ideas. Obviously, Twidash. I am still shipping trash, after all.

Think it sounds interesting? I do. Lemme know what you think of the idea.

I am also working on some updates, and this is mostly a side project, so I dunno when it'll be something I can publish, but I'll keep y'all posted.

Until next time,
Kodeake out

Could be interesting but it's really easy to sell me TwiDash. I'm not sure how well a setting can be built in 12k words though. I don't think I could do it but I have very little experience even trying so. I can say I will read it.
