Tolerated: Not Dead Yet · 1:31am Jan 23rd, 2020
I figured I should put something up to let folks know that, yes, I'm still planning on continuing 'The Tirek Who Tolerated Me'. I aten't dead, and neither is this dumb fever dream of a story. I've just... had a pretty hard few months, from about August onward. Just a constant hammering of mental, physical, emotional and financial difficulties that have utterly drained me. I simply don't have anything left in me to write at the moment, or to do a lot of other things for that matter. I want to, but I just feel... empty. I'm piecing (and I just noticed how weird that word looks) the next chapter slowly together in my mind, though, and I've got some of it actually down, so once I get my mojo back I should be able to get the rest of it down fairly quickly.
I will say this, though: this next chapter is going to be dumb. Really, really dumb. And this isn't just self-deprecation; it's going to be incredibly cringeworthy at an objective level. I'm committed to the cringe at this point, but there will be regrets. So many regrets.
Anyway, thanks for your patience, and I'll get this next stupid, stupid chapter out to you when I can. I'd say we're about at the midpoint of the story, and there's a lot that I'm looking forward to sharing with you.
Hey man, take your time if you need it, I can wait. You've got a great story going, and I'd hate to see you burn yourself out on it.
This story re-inspired me to play TF2 and look through the supplemental lore comics. Don't worry about a thing.
I wrote an undertale fanfic once. I can relate to the statement "committed to the cringe." But while I wouldn't recommend it to anyone, I don't regret writing it cuz it was a blast, cringe and all.
Besides I'm sure yours won't be that bad. It's actually been really good so far.
Take your time man, life always comes first. Especially first, ahead of horse words.
Regarding the feelings of cringe: maybe I'm more open to oddball ideas than others, but I don't think your story has been cringe at all. It's been enjoyable to read so far in fact.
