Intro
So... It's been a minute since I've done any kind of updates or blog about what's all going down with CTTB. And what all is going on?... Meh. A lot of the same, really. Still writing away, trying to bring out the best for this... I was going to say little story, but it hasn't been a little story for about the last 200,000 words ago. Seriously, I never would have expected my story to get this big. I seriously underestimated how much I wanted to explore with these characters.
Editing
My original editor, Fleur Party, will hopefully be returning to assist with my editing. Granted, I think I've come a long way from where I started, and have done a lot to avoid some of the more embarrassing mistakes I used to habitually make. But still. Fleur Party is a lot better than I am. Not to mention how nice it was to have him with the creative editing and bouncing story ideas off with him. I do look forward to that.
Also, I should be gaining another editor. A friend of mine, who's surprisingly not into the fandom outside of some of the parody videos by DWK and Wuton's reading of Daring Douch, offered his help with my editing. The long-short of it is that I would periodically read him something I was working on. She if the jokes would hit, if the action or suspense worked, or even if the wording was good or if he could think of something better. However, noting being into human on pony romance, he didn't care to read more than the sections I outlined for him that were not... umm... dirty. But, wouldn't ya know it, I finally came clean with him and said: "Hey, [redacticed character name] is probably gonna get laid... by a pony." That was followed up with a "Well, good for him." Then I had him read the setup, and he suddenly got mad at me. Mad because he enjoyed the section of the story so much that he was mad for reading something that even been published yet.
So, he has access to my chapters and will first read to catch up to where I am, and then help with catching more mistakes than I could. Maybe even help with some of the wording and flow.
The story.
I've been building up so much with this, that I've seen how far it needs to go, but also how much farther it's gone than I intended it to go. With so many things going on, I'm working on bringing this first arc to its climax... Not an easy task for everything I originally had wanted to do. The major catalyst to drive this story into its first large conflict was supposed to happen before the Welcome Welcome To Ponyville Party, but then I realized that it would have been too much and gone too fast. Lot's of things have had to be reworked after trying to write them out, actually.
-Applejack and Lumberman's relationship would have been drastically different from how I originally planned on them hanging out, but it came off so out of character for her that ended up hating it.
-Kelly and Big Mac were never set to be an item.
-Cerb being comforted by Fluttershy and Rarity wasn't supposed to be known about this early on.
-Luna was going to have a much smaller role this early in the story. (Early? LOL!)
-Spike was supposed to be spending time with Cerb most of the time and Sniff only some of the time.
-Oh, yeah. And Oven Fresh was supposed to be a one-off, one-time use, original character. As in, she was only supposed to provide the bread for Chris's recovery, and that was it. I never intended for her to play as much of a role in this story as you will see her in. Just like the Solar Guard Ponies. I have mentioned any guard pony by name other than Helix Ray? I don't think I have. Well, not for all of you at least. Yeah... they'll be important. I'll get to it eventually.
Requests
I might consider another interlude if anyone was interested. Well, specifically, an interlude of something on the side of the story that doesn't necessarily progress the story, but might be fun to read and explore. Such as, a side character that was brought up but didn't get much scene time that you'd like to know what they were doing while all this is going on. Maybe a back story? Perhaps something completely unrelated or have it be provided with meta-commentary by Pinkie Pie because for some reason most rules don't apply to her.

Quite a lot to find out. Maybe we can get our humans share stuff or knownlage to get some more bits and connections out of it.
Cerberus could for instance go for:
Military training: CQC , survivel training , operation planning/execution of the plans. Helix Ray is already perfect for that.
Another might share information about MRE to improve Troop morale? Another Pony standing guard at Friendship castle maybe? Or just put that on Shining Armor...
Becky already has her hands full with medical stuff. Nurse Redheart and Doctor Horse are already on it.
Maybe our Sex Ed expert can later be Kelly wit Big Mac as assistant ?

Ha! Ya got some good ideas, but it was more about focusing on something that's already happening or focusing on a certain group. Not so much adding new plot points.
But you might be surprised how many of those things you got right or at least close to.
