Hands: Announcement and a Short · 3:04pm Jan 9th, 2020
When it comes to Hands, I think I'll focus on the short shots for the time being, like "The Stars Revolt" and so on. I need to do some cleanup for the TRON arc. So I think a main focus of those Hands shorts (Or Short Hands, ha) will be on Shepherd in the middle of crisis situations in Equestria. Surprisingly, he tends to stay out of a lot of the drama ponies have.
Spike actually enjoys his company as they both commiserate on how nuts ponies can be.
Spike: "I just... HOW does she keep falling for these douchebags?! HOW?! I'm right here!"
Shepherd: "To be fair Spike, you are a little young for her."
Spike: "EVEN SO!"
Shepherd: "Look, I think Rarity is just waiting for you to... Mature a bit. So that she doesn't go to jail if she messes around with you. So in the meantime, don't let it get you down."
Spike: "I guess so... But how can I know for sure she even cares?"
Shepherd: Looks over at Rarity and the other main 6 relaxing nearby, and then to Spike. He raises his voice "Why Spike! Ember invited you to visit her? All alone? You dog, you!"
Spike: "Eh? I-"
Rarity seemingly teleports right next to Spike.
Rarity: "Spike! You most certainly are not visiting that dragon... Lord all by yourself! It's a long and difficult journey and I won't have you make it on your own!"
Spike: "But-!"
Rarity: "No! No buts! While I adore Ember, she really can be too clingy. She abuses your trust too much! I will go along to make sure you're treated properly!"
Spike: "I... Thanks Rarity!"
Rarity: *Beams* "You're quite welcome, my Spikey-Wikey."
Shepherd: Being smug, but says nothing
You bring on a dragon as an assistant often enough, some draconic behavior rubs off on you. Like hoarding.
Rarity: "MINE!" *Clutches Spike*
Shepherd: "You okay there, Spike?"
Spike: *Goofy grin* "Sure. Just fine."
And then Dragon Dropped happened and in the end of the episode and the series Spike still didn’t seem to choose. (Allspark is a big tease)
I mean, wreaking terrible vengeance on anyone else who tries to claim what's YOURS sounds about like dragon flirting anyway.
And now I'm imagining a circle of scaly gossips bragging about the various traumas their significant others have perpetrated.
I want to point out that Rarity is a unicorn, with a Gem cutie mark. And a crazy successful businessmare, as a fashion designer who started in a notoriously clothing optional town. If she can’t learn a bit of draconic Greed magic...
Short Hands? Like those of Donald Trump?
Now they just have to convince Dragon Lord Ember to invite them for some visit or other before Rarity catches on.
