Ladies and Gentlemen, I do declare, this year of 2019 has been, in a word, a clusterfuck.
Why, might you ask? It's been another decade that was no better than the last, with all the usual kerfuffle you get in the media and as part of this contractual obligation of being a human on the Planet Earth in the overflowing stream of everyday idiocy, conflict and bigotry. As cynical as it sounds, it's not all bad.
For starters, this year, back in July on 20th, would mark the 50th anniversary of the moon landing. So, you know, go humans! Go us! That's all I've got on-deck for now, but there's plenty of other stuff!
But remember this for me, won't you? - We are all humans; we're meant to be on the same team. We shouldn't fight, squabble or kill each other over our differences. Yes, we'll always have this moments in life where we want to punch the other person in the eye and slam a door in their snout, but we can't do that. For as long as we've existed, we've constantly bickered and argued with each other, and we're slowly killing ourselves off in doing so. We shouldn't be fighting each other, we should be working together as a whole. If we don't we don't only lose our humanity, we'll lose our planet, too.
In 2020, I'm hoping for a fresh start where we don't fight, alienate, discriminate, hate or kill each other over what we believe. In the end, we're all humans, and we have to learn to work together. Forgiveness is a part of that, for things that happened so long ago. We all need to move on from that strife and start anew. An offering of peace is all I want to see in the next year. The world is scary enough without us all slapping each other in the face because we're 'different'.
Do it because you care and do it because you want to do better as a part of this team. Teams work together, all for one and one for all. Regardless of if some people are on the other side of the barricade, we should all be on the same side and common ground. If we don't work through it eventually, I don't know where we'll be when 2030 comes around.
I hope I'll live to see some improvement.
