The one comment I frequently get about my appearance... · 4:39pm Dec 31st, 2019
In my family, or sometimes when I'm out somewhere, like when I was in college, the one thing that people used to say to me was this -
''So, when are you going to get a hair cut?'' or ''Your hair needs cutting.''
Well, let me tell you something of my own - last time I checked it was my hair, which means I'm the only one responsible for how I like it or how I want it. When my hair becomes your hair by some magical means, then you can control it, but until then, I'll do what I like with my own hair and my body, thank you very much.
Also, yes, my hair is long. There was a time when you wouldn't know I had ears because my hair was so long it completely covered them. I had it cut by my personal hairdresser (extended family) when I was in school, so now my hair is much shorter and my ears are exposed, making me feel quite naked at times. My hair is shorter now to the point where I want to keep it like this permanently, so I don't like being told I need to get a haircut when it's my personal preference.
People simply need to let others be themselves and to leave them alone to do their own thing and live their life their own way. We're all different. Nobody likes being told what to do, especially when it comes to their personal preferences and lifestyles. That's nobody's business but the person's own. As long as you're happy being you and living the way you want, then that's good enough. You can't be told not to be happy.
Alright, rant over, Brethren. As you were.
I agree. Have your hair how you like it, unless you have lice or are in the military; it's no longer your choice then as it does effect everyone else.
