The Final Story: A Lil' Party Problem · 2:11am Dec 25th, 2019
You know, I started writing for FiMFic in 2012 as an amatuer writer, hoping to hone my skills and become just a little bit better.
Now 8 years later, it’s safe to say I’ve accomplished that and then some.
Through this amazing fandom, I’ve met lifelong friends, interacted with amazing writers and have taken opportunities that would’ve never presented themselves to me otherwise. And, most importantly, I was able to write.
For people like you.
You, the people who read my stories, gave me drive in my darkest moments. Your comments and messages kept me smiling in the hardest times. I owe more than I can put into words to all of you.
I know it’s sappy. It’s cheesy and corny. But that doesn’t make it any less true. I can’t even fathom where I would be if I didn’t choose to one day watch that episode of MLP. And take that leap of faith into writing my first fic.
It was that christmas I also decided to write a Hearth’s Warming fic every year (almost, 2014 was a terrible time for me, let’s not talk about that). An act that helped me meet a deadline and keep up a habit, something I was terrible at doing.
And now, sadly, this is my last fic. And I thought it only fitting to end on a Hearth’s Warming fic.
This is one of the stories I’m most proud of. It’s simple. It’s a one-shot. It’s a Slice of Life. It’s everything I love to write in one package.
Honestly, it hurts to say goodbye. But I feel it only right that I leave with one last story, rather than fizzling out and disappearing. It wouldn’t be right to all of you who have supported me for so long.
As you can probably tell by my release schedule, I haven’t been as inspired for MLP as I was back 8 years ago. And with the last season capping things off and tying a nice bow, I don’t see myself writing any fics in the coming future. I’ve been pursuing other opportunities in my life, ones that are exciting and scary for me at the same time. But like I said, I didn’t want to just leave you guys in the dark. I wanted to say goodbye. Just like the show did.
Now, is this goodbye forever? I… honestly can’t tell you. Maybe I’ll get a strike of inspiration from the blue and pen out the occasional rare story. Maybe I’ll love the new series and come back in full force! To be honest, I’m not sure either of those will happen, so I’ll say it’s highly unlikely for now.
Nevertheless, until that time, I want to once again thank every single one of you. Whether you started reading my fics now, in the future or way back when. Whether you liked one or several of mine. Whether you left a comment or hid as a reader. Thank you. You’ve changed my life more than you know.
My PMs will always be open. And I’ll try to check back in occasionally to all the wonderful comments you guys leave (I don’t reply to them often but trust me I do read every single one of them). I know I've been critical of some of your recent fics, but even with that in mind, I've enjoyed your work. You were one of my favorites back in the early days, and I've enjoyed your recent works despite the problems I might have had with them.

Maybe you should put some of your stories in a book. I mean you have a lot of fans who would read them in a book format.

Oh man as much as I'd love to, I don't think I'd be comfortable with a lot of them being put into a book. Their quality isn't up to snuff and I'd have to rewrite & edit a lot of them. Plus I'm not sure I have enough support to do a full run. But man the fact that you suggested it at all makes me so happy!! ^^
