Competition » Season 10 Bingo Writing Contest · 7:45pm Dec 13th, 2019
Hello Everyone!
The first community writing contest we have to share with you all is starting strong with the Season 10 Bingo Writing Contest! Below is a brief summary with a link to the full contest info and prizes. If you have a contest or event of your own you think may qualify for a social site post like this, you can find the criteria here.
Season 10 Bingo Writing Contest
Do you feel like a challenge? This writing contest gives each author a unique, randomly generated prompt card like this:
Authors who sign up will be privately sent a prompt card with five ideas that could be characters, places, or abstract concepts. They then try to write a story incorporating those five ideas.
Rules
There are 200 places available. Sign up to claim yours.
Stories should be published on Fimfiction, follow all site rules, and be between 1,000 and 20,000 words long. Your story should incorporate at least two of the ideas from your prompt card, and up to all five if possible.
If you enter a finished story with time to spare, and there are places left, you may request a second prompt card.
Stories will be judged on how well the judges enjoyed them, how well they incorporated the five ideas on their card, and on correct use of English.
We also need judges and editors to help produce the best results. Volunteers are welcome for both positions.
Schedule
- APPLY NOW! - You can join up until 19 January, but only as long as there are positions available.
- Check-in - 19 January 2020 - I'd like all authors to give me the title and description of their stories.
- Story Deadline - 1 March 2020 - Stories must be published and added to the contest folder.
- Editing Deadline - 22 March 2020 - Stories must be completed.
Prizes
$75 for the 1st place.
$45 for the 2nd place.
$30 for the 3rd place.

This sounds interesting.
Having already recieved my card, I have to say this will certainly be a thing that happens.
Seriously, I have no idea how I'm going to make this work right now...
Scratch that, literally got an idea as I was writing this comment.
Is the prompt that Sombra pranks Flurry Heart, Discord, and a bunch of parasprites?
Sign me the heck up.

That's an example of a prompt.
If you sign up they will eventualy send you a random prompt with five 'options' and you will have to write a story that has at least two of them.
Where’s the contest folder? I’m rather curious on that note.
Secondly, how creative can we get with how we interpret the prompts? For instance, “Twilight, pranks, Discord, Zephyr Breeze, Big Mac.” Could that be taken as Twilight pranks all three, or she pranks the first one with the help of the other two?

Here it is. I forgot to add the link.
Creativity isn't just allowed, it's encouraged! There are always lots of different ways you could take a prompt.
I agree! How do we sign up?

Just comment here or on the main contest thread.
Oh, okay. Sign me up then!
Count me in! This sounds like fun!
Sounds fun, sign me up.
Sounds interesting. Count me in!

Aaaah. Okay. The prompt format is weird.
Well how do I sign up to be an editor?
5169485
I've sent you a PM, with a link to the contest Discord server. I'm also collecting a list of editors to give to authors, since not everyone uses Discord.
I've just sent out the 100th prompt card. That means there are 100 places left.
Down vote.
Seems fun. Bring it on!
I mind joining!

So... do you want one or don't you?

Of course!
Shouldn't it be "Season 9 Rewrite Contest"?
