Hands: Sword of Equestria Field Testing · 4:08pm Dec 11th, 2019

During the Dragon Lord incident, Twilight is freaking out that Garble has the Dragon Staff. Shepherd... Is unconcerned.

Twilight: "But don't you get it, Shepherd?! He's going to declare war!"

Shepherd: "On Equestria."

Twilight: "YES! A whole war with the dragons!"

Shepherd: "I wouldn't worry too much about it."

Twilight: "WHAT?! WHY NOT?!"

Shepherd: "I sent a letter to Princess Celestia about the situation. She's got it well in hand-I mean hoof."

Twilight: "The Princess?! But-But against Chrysalis-!"

Shepherd: "Yeah, she got sucker punched. But as Sword of Equestria, I'm privy to information you yourself are not, just yet."

Twilight: "Like what?!"

Flashback... In the desert, Shepherd is in his Ancient Human Armor and in a bunker. He makes a call on the radio.

Shepherd: "You sure about this, Princess?"

Celestia: *Quite some distance away* "Absolutely. As my knight, you should be aware of all I can do."

Shepherd: "Roger... Go for it!"

Celestia's mane and tail burst into flame, her eyes becoming dark, and everything around her for a mile bursts into flames. Shepherd is very glad he's two miles away, because even here he can feel the heat.

Shepherd: "Wow... This is what you can do when you cut loose, huh?"

Celestia: *Protecting the radio headset with her magic* "Yes... This is as low as I can go in this form. It's been soooo long... Tell me... How do I look?"

Shepherd: "Beautiful and terrible. All would love you and despair."

Celestia: *giggles* "Flatterer~..."

End Flashback

Shepherd: "That in populated areas, she has to hold back. And wherever she's gonna meet Garble to 'discuss' things? Is definitely not going to be populated... For long."

Yeah, I like Celestia being so badass she actually has to hold back constantly. If she'd really gone all out against Chrysalis, Canterlot and the surrounding area would be a volcanic crater.

More of Hands will be coming: Probably after the holidays, as I'm so busy. But more one shots and other such things are in the pipeline so stay tuned.

My favorite take on Queen Sunhorse as well. When you have a naturally-occurring fusion reactor on your butt, you're going to have a lot of power at your disposal.

Do one of Cadance as a Star Sapphire/Violet Lantern.

5167695 Fusion Pulse and Gravity Resonance from Days of Wasp and Spider are the coolest.

Celestia vs Garble
Someone already wrote what happens here, it's quite fun.

This reminds me of one of my old favorites, The Age of Wings and Steel. In it, the griffons go to war against Equestria, about two hundred years after the banishment of Nightmare Moon. At the big final battle, Celestia finally enters the fray, and begins to absolutely wreck shit, much like you say here. However, the griffon commander has an ace up his sleeve...

I hate how Celestia basically became Worf (from Star Trek) in the show. Only serving as a punching bag to show how powerful the enemy was.

Reminds me of that "World of Cardboard" speech Superman gave to Darkseid in Justice League.

At least with Worf, you can kind of understand how the showrunners could make that mistake - while he didn't create The Worf Effect, I don't think it was nearly as recognised as it is now, so you can understand why they might not realize how, in aggregate, all those defeats would tank his reputation. With Celestia, they had no such excuse.

I don't know, the whole "Celestia can summon the power of the sun, she only lost to Chrysalis because of a surprise attack" feels kind of outdated after all the other things she's been beaten by, including vines, and clouds. A solar flare/mile of giant fireball would have been incredibly helpful in the S6 finale, and would not have put any civilians at risk, if she could actually do it.

I approve of Celestia being Dr. Manehattan.

Yup. I was never a fan of God Celestia myself. That never seemed like what the show implied she was either. Much like Applejack's ability to detect lies, it's a fan creation more than anything. And I feel it makes everyone else's victories less significant if Celestia could, at any moment, just wave her horn and destroy all opponents, she just doesn't, for... reasons. Don't see how that adds anything to the story, it just makes her look stupid rather than not godlike powerful.

I mean, I'm impressed with her incredible cunning and political savvy, I think it's all the more impressive that she held her country together with that for a millennium than with solar flares.

Agreed. Discord, Tirek, Starswirl, the theme appears to be just being poweful doesn't cut it.

Celestia: After Eight Hundred Years, you get such a kink in the neck! ... It actually hurts a bit to finally let go.
