Anyone know of anything better than google docs?

Or at least, other options, maybe? I am getting frustrated with google docs simply because I can't find/organize any of my files the way I need. I have so many files, it's not funny. T-T I know it has an organization option(sort of, but not really -.-), but it's... really clunky and inconvenient.

FAIRY TALE FIASCO GOT SOME FAN ART Y'ALL!!! I am excited, can't you tell? This is the first fan art I've gotten of anything, ever, so I was thrilled to say the least. :pinkiehappy:

    No proofreader? Open proofreading?

Edit: I think I have enough volunteers for pre-reading/proofreading, thank you, everyone! :pinkiehappy: I will keep this blog up, but just wanted to note that the response was better than I thought! /endedit.

    It's on like Donkey Kong!

My brain's been amped-up because of an awesome movie I've been obsessed over recently, and somehow that relates to me writing out the chapter summaries for a sequel to The Fairy Tale Fiasco.

It sucks because google docs is amazing in that I can access my files from anywhere(phone, laptop, etc.), but since I like to put all my chapters in separate files... whoo boy, it's beyond crowded now with all that mess. I used to sort them by title, but now I use "last opened" so I can find what I was working on in the sea of crap that I write. :pinkiecrazy:

Maybe I just need to suck it up and go with a better offline option. Apart from traveling, I never really write outside my home.

Alternative title: What do you guys use to write your stories with?

you should try Libreoffice. its offline but since its a free alternative to Microsoft word. I thought I should mention it.

Thank you for mentioning it, I will definitely take a look. :D

I just use Word-Pad for basically all my stuff. Occasionally I’ll write something out by hand or type it in a Google Doc. Very rarely, I’ll write out full chapters (for miscellaneous shorts, not important/regular stories) on FIMfic and download them later.

I use OpenOffice myself.

I don't trust the cloud/online storage so everything is sorted into folders on my computer.

I get why Google Docs becomes a mess after a while. I only ever use it in the final stages (ie, after more people than just me need to be able to look at it). Until then, I use simple .txt files.

If you don't mind working in .txt, you can always just put them in a private GitHub repository, that way you can still work on them from wherever. Technically GitHub will work for any type of file, but works best with something that is plaintext.

Also, what's in my Gdoc is essentially LaTeX, but that's because I'm weird. Makes fixing things a lot easier though, plus getting the correct quotes and stuff.

Hi there! How are you doing?

Have you considered microsoft word?
