Well, for extremely silly crossovers... How about Dragonball Z and MLP? Starting with an unlikely pair of friends...
Princess Celestia is actually very, very, very powerful. Insanely so. But she can't exactly unleash her full power in populated areas, or they'd be turned into molten hellscapes devoid of life. And she doesn't have any time to train her power much for finesse, given she has a goddamned country to run.
One day, King Kai contacts her-As she is a deity ruling a world, she has access to the world of the Kais and other such things. One of his students has heard of her, and would like to meet her. Celestia, bemused, decides to meet him: One Son Goku of Earth. They hit it off as friends, sharing a love of cake and sweets and having fun. When it comes to sparring, Goku is eager but Celestia doesn't want to fight anywhere that would be... Destroyed. Fortunately, Goku knows Beerus!
And so the two begin sparring for fun and to learn how to control their powers better, becoming great friends! Such great friends that their friends and family begin to wonder about where they're going, and so the two decide to introduce their families to one another. Nothing could go wrong, right?
Is this Regular Anime Goku, or Abridged Goku? Either would be awesome, but I'm just curious.

This does seem like a good way to get a Celestia who doesn't have to choose between "damsel in distress" and "vitrifier of Canterlot." Especially if they use the Hypersonic Lion Tamer.
A couple people have written this crossover. No idea as to the quality, but they exist :P
