The Story So Far (The Infestation of Equiss Prime) Up To chapter 31 · 1:03am Nov 22nd, 2019
This blog post is here for those who want to catch up on the story or refresh their memory in case its been a while. Please excuse the roughness of this description, it is purposefully brief and imperfect.
Spoilers ahead, obviously.
Basic Premise: Far, far away from the Equiss system, the queen of blades is readying the launch of her newest weapon. A ship designed to infest an entire planet in secret, readying it for the eventual zerg invasion and softening up even the hardest target, Korhal. Unfortunately for the queen of blades, the untested zerg biotechnology is more difficult to master then she thought and the infestation ship vanishes after launch.
Untold eons later Twilight Sparkle is preparing for her entrance exam for Celestia's school for gifted unicorns only to stop when she sees a star fall into her new treehouse. The young pony sets out in the middle of a storm, intent on seeing this fallen star for herself.
What she finds inside will change not only her destiny but the destiny of all on Equiss prime.
Chapter 1. Kerrigan launches a new ship piloted by a prototype queen capable of infesting a planet in secret. Something fails, and the ship goes wildly off course, many, many years later it enters Equiss' atmosphere, brushes past the moon, and lands somewhere in the badlands after streaking over Canterlot. Twilight is infected by a zerg parasite which lands in her backyard just before her entry exam to Celestia's school.
Chapter 2. Despite feeling sick, Twilight convinces her parents to let her go to the exam regardles. Her magic flares as it does in the show, only this time there are complications due to the parasite not interacting well with her magic. When Celestia calms it down Twilight has glowing orange eyes and a strange cutie mark. Celestia figures out she is infected, but is unable to figure out a method of curing her. She begins hiring ponies to research this parasite, and keep an eye on Twilight's mental state.
Chapter 3. Twilight moves to the castle, and though most people are polite, there is some fear that Twilight's condition may be transferable. The guards are nervous and tense around her, unsure of what to do. Celestia tests her aptitude. Celestia has also established the lab that will be in charge of researching Twilight's parasite and monitoring her condition.
Chapter 4. Twilight has a strange dream, and begins to feel the presence of some creature, which cant seem to communicate for whatever reason. They try to understand one another, but it doesnt get far before twilight wakes up. Twilight meets Silver Bulwark and gets some food because she is feeling weak. Celestia isnt very good at slang. Celestia tests her and finds that her magic has become weaker for whatever reason.
Chapter 5. At this point Twilight has been seeing a therapist in order to gauge her mental state. Twilight begins to be able to read the minds of other ponies, though its a struggle for her to do. They go to a secret section of the Canterlot gardens in order to join the rest of the castle's foals in a game of hide and seek. BlueBlood the fifth makes an ass of himself and Twilight is comforted by Celestia.
Chapter 6. Celestia verbally bitch slaps the patriarach of house blueblood and he runs back home with his tail between his legs and thinks about joining a mysterious plot that the other great houses were planning. Celestia enjoys a nice pipe, and meets with Twilight's therapist.
Chapter 7. The elder Blueblood goes home, and it is revealed that his guards share a striking similarity to the protoss. Bright Horn, his wife, talks him into joining their little secret coup club. Blueblood the younger gets caught trying to warn Celestia, and is discplined by Bright Horn.
Chapter 8. Twilight's diet issues are coming to a head. Twilight displays an unusual ability to know what Spike wants despite the dragon being too young to speak. Twilight tells Celestia about her dream. Twilight visits Spike, who was unruly for his caretakers, but calm, and quiet with Twilight. They have an adorable time.
Chapter 9. Twilight gets a checkup with her therapist and recounts an event where several children may or may not have tried to kill her only for Twilight to be saved by her new psionic powers and Silver Bulwark, suffering only a broken leg. She also checks in with her doctor, who notes that her leg has healed back very quickly, and is thicker then before. Celestia is very overworked and uses a strange machine hidden somewhere secret in order to soothe the dreams of her ponies, and especially the future element bearers. Celestia has to deal with a diplomatic incident with Storm Beak, the griffon ambassador.
Chapter 10. Twilight visits a new doctor, who discovers her dietery issue, after talking to a griffon cook working in the castle.
Chapter 11. Twilight has a troubled sleep, dreaming that Shining Armor attacked her, and that she was a monster. The dream ends suddenly, and she is greated by the sight of strange half pony, half zerg amalgamations as well as the unnamed queen sent by Kerrigan.
Chapter 12. Celestia backs a pair of inventors who are creating armor and technology similiar to terran tech. Twilight trains in a room which can inhibit magic. Somethign goes wrong, and Twilight injures her horn only for it to fix itself, and become stronger.
Chapter 13. Twilight's insomnia is getting worse. Celestia's plans are starting to fall apart. Twilight goes on a feild trip meets a pony named Mouse Trap and has a decent time.
Chapter 14. Checkup with the therapist. Twilight has glasses which hide her strange eyes. She also seems able to more easily read minds, and move things with her psionic power. Learns a dream spell to help her. Celestia and Twilight do cute things.
Chapter 15. It is discovered that Twilight has access to earth pony magic, though it is strange, and doesnt function like an earth pony's. She also grows a very strange, unnatural plant.
Chapter 16. Twilight reveals she knows her food has meat in it. Celestia promises to tell Twilight more of her secrets. Celestia's countermeasures to keep out spies is working relatively well. She also pulled some ponies out of retirement, namely Golden Glaive and equips them with armor and weapons that nopony knows about. Celestia gives the creep plant to the doctor but it dies quickly.
Chapter 17. Twilight gets a first hand lesson about the frontier, and goes otu shopping with Celestia, aiming to buy a jacket. Something she acomplishes after making freinds with an old griffon who lost his eye.
Chapter 18. Twilight is growing aprehensious about going home. Celestia's earth pony inventors are cranking out plenty of new tech. Celestia receives reports of zerg. Silver Bull hints that there are people trying to remove her from her position.
Chapter 19. Canterlot is becoming less and less diverse, and the ponies living their less freindly. Twilight walks home after convincing Silver Bulwark to not come with her. Twilight's family life is less then steller, and relations with her mother are poor. Shining Armor is a butt, who knows alot of things he shouldnt and him and Twilight have an arguement. Their mother is no help, and Night LIght grounds both Shining Armor, and his wife.
Chapter 20. Twilight goes back to the castle, running away from her family . She falls asleep and dreams of the half zerg monsters she saw before, as well as the queen which she feels compelled to give her allegiance too. Underqueen Starlight wants to use her, mother, the primary queen, is unsure, and Bubbles is against the entire plan. Twilight erects a psionic barrier in her mind, cutting off their connection and ensuring they cannot control her, inadvertently diminishing her own psionic abilities to do so.
Chapter 21. Blueblood goes to his special training course, learns of the khala, and gets a lesson in fighting. Finds some other people inside the houses that dont like the direction they are taking and joins them.
Chapter 22. Twilight catches up with her therapist. Tells them about her recent dreams, and talks about her worries, and aqnxieties.
Chapter 23. Celestia argues with Twilight's therapist and visits the laboratory to check up on their progress, only to find that the zerg strain is virulent, but not active yet. Celestia and Twilight stargaze together.
Chapter 24. Nine years later. Twilight has grown tall, strong, and powerful, though her psionic abilities have not progressed much over the years. Spike is tall, lanky and has the body of an adult, though with some minor changes. Twilight's parents have broken up, and she lives with her dad in an apartment. They walk to the castle, and find that the whole city is even less kind, and less diverse then before. Silver Bulwark is gone. The castle guards are strange, and are clearly part of the khala. Celestia's administration has leaks and other issues as well as a new viceroy. It is revealed that the Zerg are abducting people, and raiding towns, having grown bolder over the years.
Chapter 25. Celestia visits the inventors she invested in, revealing she has been dumping bits into their projects for almost a decade, and that they have come along way, developing tons of technology in secret.
Chapter 26. Twilight is receiving tons of new courses, from leadership, to self defence, all taught by Celestia herself. Twilight moved into the tower at some point during the last few years. Mentions that her father has family out in the confederacy. Blueblood sneaks into their tower, Twilight smacks him around only for the unicorn to reveal that hes working from the inside. and that he carries news of a potential attack that will come in a years time.
Chapter 27. Celestia liquidates the labs that were working with her, and lets go of Twilight's therapist as well, choosing to look after the filly herself. The houses are watching the doctor, and therapist.
Chapter 28. Twilight's mom and her try to patch things up, though its hinted that she has taken some of the 'courses' that her new royal freinds wanted her to take. Shining Armor shows up drunk, and doesnt take well to the new status qou, ranting and raving only to be shoved out the door by Twilight.
Chapter 29. Twilight continues to train with Celestia and is encouraged to keep testing her new, psionic abilities for the first time. She goes to her special hideout which is covered in Creep which she practices manipulating and brings into her body, enabling her to alter her physical form at will while also making her infestation more obvious. Mysterious orders are sent by the ponies watching her go about her day.
Chapter 30. Twilight receives word from Cadance, and considers seeing her again. She is then lured out of her tower, invited to meet somewhere, and is attacked after being drawn into the training room and having her magic shut down. She almost dies in the attack, has a second flare while using her new psionic abilities, and calls out to Celestia psionicly who teleports to her.
Chapter 31. Silver Bulwark returns as Twilight’s bodyguard, who then convinces the unicorn to go on vacation and see Cadance again. Celestia promises to tell Twilight everything after she returns from her vacation. Twilight also grows a parasite, and heals herself through the use of her psionic powers.
