Ask Vren55 or Alternia Anything, Announcement on Book 3 of the Alternia-Verse and vren55 Vanhoofer Pony Expo · 6:49am Nov 17th, 2019
If you are old hands here, you recall me blogging about Book 3 in the Alternia-verse. If you're new here, see this blog post.
The good news is that book 3 in the Alternia-verse is now It's mostly complete. That is to say, my part of it is entirely complete. The entirety of Book 3 is off to the editors and pre-readers for pre-reading. This will take a while, and I'm still waiting on cover art from the artist I commissioned it from. Moreover, Zervziel my co-author from Equestria's Changeling Queen and the Abyssal Empress is writing a chapter. So... it'll be some time
There's no set or hard deadline for the book 3 publishing, only wishful dates, but I hope to be publishing before I attend the Vanhoover Pony Expo in January in Vancouver.
Ah, yes that! I'm happy to announce I'm attending the Vanhoover Pony Expo like I did last year. I hope to be panelling with Garyoak as usual and be talking about writing. Unfortunately, my camera failed last time, so I couldn't record the panel but if you want to see me, I'll be heading there :)
Finally, I'd like to offer up this blog post as an Ask Me Anything with Alternia. For those who are new here, I operate AMAs usually by text. You all can submit questions to myself or Alternia by posting in the comments section below, and Alternia and I will answer. I will continue to take questions until November 23, 2019. As an example of the questions already asked, here is one of the last AMAs in 2015. I don't mind answering multiple questions from the same person, but try not to repeat questions XD.
Hope you're all having fun and am as excited for the sequel as I am!
Yours sincerely,
vren55
I'm new to your stories. I skimmed through and decided I'd read book 1 and loved it.
But I'm scared to read 2 because I accidentally saw that luna was leaving somewhere at the end. is this an actual sequel to book 2?

Uhhhh I’ll say not quite and that yes this is a sequel to book 2. I would love you to read book 2, but I understand the reaction to it from some people. The nature and story of book 3 means it tries to accommodate people who skipped book 2 asmuch as possible so that you can all get up to speed zquickly
Alternia, was there ever a time in the 1,000 year span you stood-in for Celestia you suspected another changeling might be nearby? Be it an oddly behaving individual in a crowd, a vague inclination at a passing moment, or a scattered report of someone reporting an odd happening that was a potential sighting?
Alterna? Has anybeing thought of building a ship without sails?
5157418
Alternia, here, can you clarify that question? There were plenty of ships without sails in book 2.
5157421
iron hull no sails non wind propulsion POSIBLY magical or non magical propulsion.
and not built with sails or sails in mind.

Alternia: Suspecting a changeling in the crowd in front of me? No. I could not really sense normal changelings nearby. However, I did on a few occasions sense ascended queens nearby, like how I sensed Chrysalis was near Canterlot before Shining Amor and Cadence's wedding.
There were also various moments where I suspected changeling involvement, though, none so as dramatic or as consequential as in the last century, when a griffon rebel Nasty Bone Parter rose up with the support of what I then suspected, then later confirmed with my sister's knowledge, a changeling queen by the name of Ratched. The REINS nearly did confirm her existence then, but Queen Sarar of the queens council brutally dealt with Ratched before my agents could find evidence.
5157567 vren55: Yes, book 2 had a LOT of iron ships of the early 20th century variety, mostly pre-dreadnoughts.

Yea reread it had been awhile
Have you ever played Ogres and Oubliettes Alternia? If so what character did you play? What class would you identify as in the 5th edition? What alignment/race e.t.c?

Alternia: I have played Ogres and Oubliettes but I could never get into it while I was Celestia. It was difficult to be playing a character, playing a character. After Harlequin reintroduced the game to me when I became Equestria's third ruling princess, I found it didn't really matter what kind of character I played, I just enjoyed spending time with the creatures I love.
I do have a slight preference for the Bard and races that align with lawful good.
