Smolder exhaled. Whether the smoke that followed came from biology or the dragon's refusal to contain the cigarette's erosion Ocellus couldn't tell. It blossomed, though, a smudge of grey against the bruised sky, and that was enough. But in that moment Ocellus was certain that whatever Smolder did would have been enough.

S'up. Been a while, hasn't it? But yeah, I've been writing some horsegriffonwords here and there. It's very rough, and I'm not sure if it'll go anywhere or see the light of day, but here's a small part of it that I liked and thought I'd share.

    Wrote Something Last Week

Not a story as such (or, at least, not anything approaching a complete story), but the foundation of something that could conceivably become a story with some time and effort.

    Saw the G5 Movie Today.

As is probably apparent by my lateness to the proceedings, I haven't really been motivated to catch it thus far, but was babysitting and my charge wanted to watch it.

    Time Flies

Smolder lay sprawled across the rug, limbs and claws entwined in dense yak hair. Her scales had become uneven shimmering planes, given their fleeting new life by the light of the fireplace. There, prancing tongues lived and died erratically, the only concession to the passing of time.

"Hey, you see the moon from there?"

In which I promote some of the stories written by those who have been kind enough to follow me.

Huh, so it's been a while since the last one of these. I blame thoroughly depressing work experiences, thoroughly enjoyable Emberlight experiences and good ol' social life being active again. But despite being an excuse, it's not an excuse. So here we are.

For those of you who have only recently began to follow me (thank you, it means a lot!) this semi-regular blog is where I throw a shout out to the stories written by those who have been kind enough to drop me said follow. It's not a review blog, nor is it a blog promoting hidden gems or underappreciated stories. It's just a 'Hey, these stories I've read are cool, you might enjoy them too' blog, whereby I can give a little something back.

With that said, on to this week's shout outs:

Smolder and Ocellus spend quality time together after cheer practice and encounter an eldritch entity bent on consuming Smolder's soul. They also play Connect Four.

Check it out if you enjoy creeping otherworldly dread and awesome Smolder/Ocellus characterisation, particularly in normalising their specific species traits.

Check it out if you enjoy interesting and well-written original characters and less common takes on the subject of friendship.

EKnitting Encouragement
The course of friendship is like the course of a thread; it's a bit loopy, it meanders all the time, and it can get terribly tangled up at the wrong moment. However, in skilled hooves the result is beautiful and inspiring. A treasure beyond treasure.

Check it out if you enjoy well-written explorations of character backgrounds, and enjoy a good Cheerliee or Suri yarn (pun kinda intended).

That's all for now! I'll try not to leave it so long next time.
