    BUGHORSE NEWS

Yes, I bring good news of Chrysalis story. I have finished the first draft of the next chapter and the editing team has already made a first pass on it. There's still a lot to do to polish it, but I'm hopeful that I can have it up and ready for your hungry eyes in one week. Keep a lookout!

    Life is Snow

No really, this isn't some vague metaphor. My life is literally snow right now. I'm drowning, send help.

    New year, new chapter

Hope everyone is having a great New Year's Eve (or if you're in a part of the world where it's already 2022, hope the new year's been treating you well so far). Good news: the next chapter of Paint the Sky is written, we just need to take it through a few rounds of edits and revisions before I'm ready to post it. It will probably go live at the usual time on Wednesday.

A new story is coming... · 10:06pm Nov 6th, 2019

For those wondering where my writing has all gone lately, you'll be pleased to know that I've been working on a new side story for the BV for quite some time now. So long, in fact, that I already have 3 chapters finished and a 4th on the way. It was supposed to come out a very long time ago (as in, while GAoA book 1 was still updating) but there has been a major setback: the cover art.

I decided to commission an actual artist to do the cover art this time, and while I'm quite happy with what I've seen so far, art is (obviously) a process that takes a lot of time. The artist themself has also suffered a number of their own setbacks with other projects, along with that bitch we all know as Real Life. On the other hand though, I don't want to keep you guys waiting forever to actually see this story, so here's what I'm going to do: Come the end of the month, I'm going to start uploading my story with or without the cover art. If the artist I commissioned manages to have the cover finished by then, great! If not, I won't sweat it and will just throw up a temporary cover until the commissioned cover art is complete.

Now you must be wondering, what will this new side story be about? Well, it takes place during GAoA book 1 on the human side of things (it was originally slated to be an arc of meanwhile... before we decided to just make it its own thing). I don't want to give too much away, but I will say it has to do with the formation of Sunset's new SIREN organization. Speaking of which, I was quite surprised when chapter 12 of GAoA2: Synchronicity came out and nobody picked up on this little tidbit:

The next few minutes went by as Sunset explained to her former principal what their plans for Whiskey were, as well as what they were going to do about the other newcomer SIRENs. The two adults listened to the teen’s plans, with some input from Softwing as well, though that was few and far between.

“Well, as it would seem, we will have to figure out familial structures for those who are underage as far as Earth is concerned,” Celestia stated once Sunset was done. “I presume that you wouldn’t want any of them to have to go through what you went through.”

“Absolutely not,” Sunset agreed. “It was hell for me and I wouldn’t want that on anyone, much less those under my aegis.”

“Smart move,” Sable commented as he nodded his approval. “That being said, we’ll have to be careful. Additionally, I’ll say this right now, Sunset: Celestia and I will not be taking in any of the underage SIRENs,” he told her. Looking at Celestia briefly, then back to Sunset, he added, “As much as Tia and I want a family of our own, as the senior SIREN officer, it would be unduly picking favorites if any of them lived with us. Plus, from what the triplets told me, I wouldn’t want to create another Piano Bliss, whoever that is. I’m also going to add that when I onboard the Force Master Chief, the same will apply to him as well.”

“I suspect that given what we know of Troubleshoes’ home life, I really don’t think he would want the extra headache anyway,” Celestia added.

I hope you'll join me on this new chapter of the ever-growing saga I get to share with Shinzakura and BlueBastard
