Turner Classic Movies and Movie Recommendations. · 10:02pm Oct 22nd, 2019
From now on, every post about what TCM is showing (and most of my movie recommendations) will be posted here. The new additions will be in the comments.
Anyway tonight (Tuesday Night) TCM is showing "The Last Dragon" (1985).
Tomorrow afternoon they are showing a movie with the eye-catching title "Hips, Hips, Hooray" (No, it doesn’t star Shakira. It’s from 1934). The TCM synopsis – Two salesmen try to market a flavored lipstick.
Wednesday Night’s Theme is "Short And Sweet". And it’s showing old comedies like "Duck Soup" "The Bank Dick" (1940) and others. Late night they are throwing in a suspense flick sandwiched between three comedies on each side. "Fast Company" (1938) TCM synopsis – Married book-dealers Joel and Gerda Sloane try to clear a friend in the murder of a rival book-seller.
Thursday day is Sword And Sandal time!
"Captain Sinbad" (1964)
"Sinbad And The Eye Of The Tiger" (1977)
"Jason And The Argonauts" (1963)
"Atlantis, The Lost Continent" (1960)
"Hercules, Samson & Ulysses" (1963)

"Night Of The Living Dead" (1968)
"The Hunger" (1983) – David Bowie as a vampire! Susan Sarandon! Catherine Deneuve! And directed by Tony freaking Scott!

"Godzilla Vs Megalon" (1973)
"Godzilla Vs Mechagodzilla" (1974)
"Terror Of Mechagodzilla" (1975)
"The War Of The Gargantuas" (1966)
And after that we get the sleazy 70’s movie that Russ Meyer directed and Roger freaking Ebert wrote! "Beyond The Valley Of The Dolls" (1970). The IMDB synopsis – Three girls come to Hollywood to make it big, but find only sex, drugs and sleaze.
For those not familiar, Russ Meyer had a long career directing mostly sexplotation flicks like "Supervixens". But he’s most well known for the 60’s film "Faster, Pussycat! Kill Kill".
This whole week looks like someone like me hacked the programming. Monsters, zombies, kung-fu, exploitation movies.
Today (Sunday) – "What Ever Happened To Baby Jane?" (1962) starts in a few hours.
Tonight – Marilyn Monroe double feature. "River Of No Return" (1954) and "Niagara" (1953).

Song Of The Thin Man (1947).
I just watched "It: Part Two" (2019) and I really enjoyed both parts. I think the film ending is better than the ending of the book. I was worried about how they'd adapt such a huge novel with so much stuff, but I think they stuck the landing. Applause to everyone involved!
I found one of my fav bad movies on Youtube. The Troma flick "Class Of Nuke 'Em High Part II: Subhumanoid Meltdown". Fav quote from the re-watch so far. "Due to our hands on experience with everything from isotope cores to uranium rods, our brains were growing and our bodies were glowing."
