Hearth's Warming Tidbit 12: The Naga · 8:33pm Oct 16th, 2019
This tidbit is about the naga. In particular covering the naga that made an appearance in the previous chapter and will return in the next chapter as well the later naga that will later be coming up. The naga are a species I wanted to include for a while, ever since that one episode in the show where we saw Japanese style unicorns.. This also hold more ground in the story since the naga hold such a strong place in the history of the unicorns in my universe. This is the Naga...

The naga, a rarely seen species even in the vast land of Epon. It’s not well known where their home land resides only that they can be found every once while if any creature looks close enough. What is known best about them is their species is one of the few species that descended directly from one of the Existal. Existals are the oldest beings in the universe outside of the godly Ideals it’s not completely sure which of the Existals the naga herald from but the most likely suspect is the serpentine octopus existal, Cthulhu. Whether they are seen as his direct children or grandchildren is also unsure since even fewer beings have met Cthulhu before to ask directly on these assumptions.
The naga are described as snake like being with either two arms and two legs or just two arms or even sometimes no limbs at all. This is mostly assumed to be part of their aging cycle that the ones with the least limbs seemed to be the oldest with rumors that the oldest have no limbs at all and are just giant serpents. Their size also seems to range though this seemed to have absolute nothing to with their age or at least to a certain extent and more to do with their diet. Most can keep to a simple diet and be around the height of a tall unicorn male while other can have a large diet and can be around the size of a small house.
The importance of the naga seemed to be most noticeable with the unicorn royal family since there is always a naga working with the head of the clan at one time or another. For example, Dimitri Dusk is the current naga working as Princess Platinum’s teacher in swordmareship.
Dimitri Dusk has served the family since the princess's father saved him from a direct confrontation with Cthulhu himself. Dimitri, or Dim as the princess calls him as has served her since she was just an infant. And he plans to continue serving her to the end of his life. His loyalty is boundless and some might consider too strong.
