The RariTwi Bomb Finale!

WELL!

Well, well, well, wasn't that a FABULOUSLY MASSIVE success!

The RariTwi Bomb is officially over, and in the span of a week, a whopping 35+ STORIES were posted, a great deal of them written that very same week! We had participation from established authors to first timers to all in between! And more than that, it's really encouraging to see how many people outside of the original group participated in the event!

I'm trying to think of something poetic or inspiring to say, but honestly I'm just incredibly floored by how many people participated in this purely for the love and fun of it, and it is especially more meaningful to me that this incredible celebration of this dynamic happened the week the show ended--not just because the ship has been a big reason I've stayed here, but because this entire shebang was proof that even the show ending will not stop our creativity.

Passion wins.

The reason I'm here now, the reason I ever started writing, wasn't because I wanted to be the best, or great or anything. It was purely out of love and passion for stories, which is exactly why this wasn't a contest, and that's what I saw this week. People writing for the love of it and the community.

So, thank you to everyone that participated, for joining us in celebrating and exploring a ship that I think no longer qualifies as unpopular. You have made this shipper a very, very happy camper, and I hope you're all proud of what we've accomplished because I sure am.

WITH THAT IN MIND! This was originally supposed to be a one time thing, but... should this be a repeat? I'd be down to host it again in the future (maybe in half a year or so), and this time give y'all more of an advanced warning and open it up to Fimfiction proper. I might also consider the option of hosting these events for other ships as well, but we'll see about that.

For now, let me know how you'd feel about a repeat of this in the future.

This wasn't a contest, but I think I can safely say that all of us won this week. When the idea of the bomb was first floated I was expecting one story a day at most for the week, with myself providing one of those stories. Instead, I found myself scrambling to keep up with the absolute deluge of RariTwi that flooded my feed, and I could not be happier about it. You've done something amazing, this week, and I am eternally grateful to you for it.

As for the future, I have no plans on ever not writing RariTwi, so if another bomb comes around, you can be sure that I'll be there, ready to post something.

I'd be happy to see another bombing down the line, especially since I only got a disjointed quarter of three chapters written for the idea I had.

I don't know how bombings work, memetically and culturally, but if the rush is not required it would be good to hear about it further in advance next time so people can prepare even if they're not part of the main bomb squad.

I was not aware of this before just now, but I love it! So much great reading to do for a great pairing! Plus, I honestly adore the community banding together for something like this, especially post-finale. I'd love to see more events like this, especially if they could be promoted more broadly and pull in more authors/readers.

As far as pairings, I'd like to see Twi and Pinkie. I don't encounter that pair very often, and maybe after A Trivial Pursuit some folk have had ideas for it pop into their heads. I'll also second the previously suggested Starlight/Trixie.
