A thing I need to do is speaking more..... particularly, speaking up.

So, first, sorry that this isn't about writing. I know that many here wait for updates on my stories and some recent events make it increasingly difficult to get back into a proper writing schedule, but these updates will come as I am slowly getting things back in order. For now, I need to speak about a few things and say a few things that are important for me to say and, frankly, have always

It looks like 2020 isn't the "I'm back to full form!" year, after all, but rather the "I'm very slowly getting back to full form." year.....

This year was supposed to be a big comeback year for me as a pony author, after the last two thirds of 2017 were mostly a disaster and 2018 and 2019 were overall very disorganized messes for my writing, because of the event from the beginning of 2017 (which I still can't tell you details about, sorry for being vague) and the huge aftermath of that event that left me in a mentally compromised

Chapter 24 of "Letters to Cozy Glow" is finally here!

Well, the last three weeks have been a little bit chaotic once again..... Some other stuff that isn't writing had piled up and needed to be worked down and, somehow, the new chapter was covered under all that stuff and I had to dig it out. It is still alive, though, that's the good news and after reanimating it, I can send it out to you now, like a healthy, young filly who leaves the house after

Derp Release of "Letters to Cozy Glow": The missing Chapter 23 has now been found!

Well, it looks like I forgot to release the announced new chapter of "Letters to Cozy Glow" yesterday, so I generated an unintentional delay. I was cleaning my Cutie Mark Crusaders plushies for a trip tomorrow and then had a movie night with my friend who had to make a

"Letters to Cozy Glow" will continue on Thursday

As you noticed, "Letters to Cozy Glow" did not have a new chapter released last week. This was intentional, though, so don't worry, I am not losing track of my writing again. There were a couple of other things that had piled up and I decided not to write a new chapter last week to finally work through them. Then I got a little carried away with these things, so my mind ended up sidelining a

[SPOILERS] Season 9 Finale Trailer Analysis: The Sacrifice of Equestria's Greatest Modern Heroes · 10:59pm Oct 12th, 2019

Edit: I was so wrong with everything here, but I ain't even mad.

As it is always the case lately, I'm very late with that. But I still want to write down an analysis of the Season 9 Finale Trailer after I could finally watch it today. This is something so typical and natural, it just needs to be done before the Finale airs. I couldn't ever sleep well again if I didn't do that, so, here it goes.
The following has been written right after watching the Season 9 Finale Trailer today. I have not seen any leaks prior to writing this analysis, I did not receive any spoilers (I'm so lucky, how did I manage that?! :rainbowderp:) and I didn't accidentally listen in on any hearsay or rumors about the Finale, other than a giant fuzz that a lot who have already seen the Finale make, because of some plot twist that supposedly comes out of nowhere (even if that were true, why would that be bad?) and potentially something unspeakably horrible the Mane Six have supposedly done.
Other than that, I'm blind like an ancient quarray eel. The only knowledge I have comes from the Season 9 Finale Trailer, released by Hasbro on August 2nd and reported about here.

Let me begin by saying that, at first, I thought this analysis wouldn't even happen. The trailer contains surprisingly little moments from the Season 9 Finale, visually-speaking. It's dubbed over with lines from the Finale, but the moments that were chosen for its scenes are mostly from previous episodes. But after watching it a couple times and looking closer, I realized I was wrong and there is a lot to take away from it, after all. I think I have also figured out why so many freak out about the Finale and now say they don't care about My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic anymore after watching it, which I will explain, as well.
And since there isn't much time anymore, I'll keep it simple and go through the events as I think they will happen chronologically, not in the order the trailer showed them.
I'll start with this moment:
.

.
We see Canterlot Castle from above, decorated for the ceremony of Twilight's ascension to the throne, while a pegasus mare flies to the castle and other ponies make their way towards it, as well, either as attendees or event staff.
In the background, we hear Celestia speaking to Twilight. She says that she had high hopes for Twilight when she came to Ponyville and that she knew that the time is upon them when she became the Princess of Friendship. We don't have an accompanying scene for this, other than a shot of Celestia landing next to Twilight and seemingly comfoting her right at the begininning, of which I'm not sure if we've seen this moment before, but this is likely spoken at the very beginning of the episode after we've seen the shot from above.
In the meantime, Twilight's friends make their way to the castle. This scene shows Rarity and Fluttershy on the way:
.

.
Together with Rainbow Dash, they meet her and Spike. The others are likely there, too, and just off-screen or they join a moment later:
.

.
They head inside and into the throne room, Rarity talks about how this is the first switch of power in Equestria in over a millennium. She asks Twilight how she feels about that and Twilight answers that she is (still) scared.
.

.
The lines that are heard here cross over into another scene, but the entire conversation likely takes place in the throne room. They reassure Twilight and tell her she will be a great ruler. Spike does the same, which prompts Twilight to tell him what a great assistant he always was in the past years. She has a surprise for him and gives him a self-made (or commissioned) medal to honor him for always being her Faithful Assistant:
.

.
If you look closely, you can see something that looks very much like Twilight's cutie mark on the medal, at the bottom of the screenshot. Spike gets emotional, tears up and hugs Twilight:
.

.
After that, Twilight's friends and Spike head outside to run some last errands for the ceremony. For some reason, they have to leave Canterlot for that and go outside the city borders. You'll see why soon.
While they are away, Celestia, Luna and Twilight suddenly receive news of an enemy trying to invade Canterlot, who is revealed to be Grogar with Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis in tow (and maybe Sombra, if Celestia's and Luna's plan still continues, the Season 9 Trailer implied a return by showing a destroyed Crystal Empire at the end).
Twilight can either pass a message on to her friends and Spike or they find out themselves. Either way, they rush back to Canterlot and the castle. You can see here that they have been outside of Canterlot, as they are at the outer side of the citygate:
.

.
They make their way through the city and reach the throne room. They gather there with Twilight, Celestia, Luna, Discord and five of Canterlot's royal guards. Everypony, except for Discord, is nervous about the attack, because it's the first time that so many enemies of Equestria attack Canterlot at once. Twilight holds a speech and reminds them that they have fought enemies of Equestria before and that they've always succeeded:
.

.
Discord acts like the safety of all of Equestria is owed to him alone, which makes everypony angry at him and prompts Spike to tell him to "read the room, dude":
.

.
Discord has it easy to talk like that, because he knows that he will get out unscathed with this reality-bending powers. But Grogar referred to himself as "Father of Monsters", which implies he might have created Discord, so let's see how well Discord will hold up against him.
Unfortunately, the attack happens sooner than they expected. Grogar, Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis (and Sombra?) teleport into the throne room all of a sudden and immediately start attacking. All three (four?) of the magic users combine their magic for one quick and early blow. The royal guards come to the rescue, but aren't fast enough, and Twilight has to protect herself, Celestia and Luna with a magical barrier:
.

.
The color of the magic doesn't look like the magic color of any of the villains who are able to cast spells and I already thought that another enemy, who we don't know yet, will show up. But they likely just combined their magic, which also combined the colors of their magic and resulted in this new color.
Twilight, Celestia and Luna remain unharmed by the attack, but the villains quickly launch another attack, this time only Tirek and Chrysalis combining their magic. They blow away a large part of Canterlot Castle:
.

.
But they don't simple blow away a part of the castle..... They blow away Twilight's throne, which you can see on the following two screenshots with the direction Twilight is looking into (if her teared-up, distraught face isn't already enough indication for you). Tirek and Chrysalis did this to demoralize Twilight, by symbolically showing her that she won't rule Equestria now, via destroying her throne in front of her eyes. Which, I'm sure, was recommended to them by Cozy Glow, since Cozy Glow is their strategist and the brain of the team and because she utterly hates Twilight for a reason we can't be sure about yet.
While Twilight can't act, Tirek and Chrysalis attack again and Twilight's friends, Spike, Celestia, Luna and Discord protect her. They use a giant piece of debris from the collapsed ceiling to shield themselves and Twilight against the new attack:
.

.
On the second screenshot, you can see that Twilight is starting to cast a spell. What I think she's doing there is teleporting outside because she can't take being there anymore after she saw her throne getting destroyed. Grogar, Cozy Glow, Sombra (?), Tirek and Chrysalis follow her outside, the latter two also because they have interest in getting revenge on Twilight for defeating them. Twilight's friends, Celestia, Luna and maybe Discord (he's very unpredictable, so we can't be sure how dedicated he is with helping) follow them. They flee the city so that the villains won't destroy Canterlot and hurt or kill civilians. In the landscape near Canterlot, a battle takes place.
Twilight, Rainbow Dash and Pinkie Pie dodge another combined attack by all of the magically-capable villains while Twilight casts a combat spell:
.

.
No perfect screenshots here, but at least the fading word in the background during the attack proves that these are really screenshots that come from the trailer only.
Now separate from Pinkie and Rainbow Dash, Twilight gets ready to attack Tirek. It is easy to figure that it is Tirek she prepares to attack, because her opponent is throwing rocks at her and using rocks as weapons is something we've previously seen Tirek doing. Twilight is also furious because of her throne, which can be clearly seen and reminds a lot on her anger after Tirek destroyed her library:
.

.
At some point during the battle, Chrysalis shoots down Spike (notice the smoke coming from what is clearly a burn wound on his back) and Rarity comes to rescue him, defending him with a shield spell:
.

.
The battle doesn't go too well. Somehow, but likely because of Grogar himself and because of his powers, the villains prevail. Twilight and her friends can only flee to Ponyville and into Twilight's castle, where they hide. Because of their fail and the destruction of her throne, Twilight is hopeless and breaks down in tears. She talks about that they won't make it and that they can't save Equestria this time, because they don't have the Elements of Harmony anymore and are on their own. Of course their recent battle against Sombra from a couple months ago showed that the Element of Harmony's magic is in them, but Twilight completely forgets this. The demoralization takes full effect on her.
Spike and Applejack manage to give Twilight new confidence by reminding her on all her successes and that they believe in her and by telling that, to them, she made a big difference. The following 9 screenshots show this process. It ends with a group hug:
.

.
Twilight feels spirited again. She searches for a way to defeat Grogar, likely via the books in her castle library. After the search, she says that it's up to them to save Equestria, answered by Fluttershy who says "Just like old times". Twilight proceeds to explain that this is "gonna be the last battle ever". Why the "last battle ever" is something I'll explain soon.
Discord says that he simply can't miss it if it is the last battle and the others represented by Rainbow Dash, agree with him. Pinkie cheers and jumps into the air, yelling "Now let's save Equestria!":
.

.
It's a cheerfulness that won't last long anymore from that moment onwards. I'm getting to the most exciting, but also to the tragic, result of this analysis, and will explain what that all means in the following part of the analysis.
In a previous moment, while doing research in her castle library, Twilight has found out how to defeat Grogar..... And she has found out that the only way to do is if the Elements of Harmony get sacrificed, which weakens him for a short time. There is only one problem: The Elements of Harmony are already destroyed.
This poses an issue, until Twilight realizes that the magic of the Elements is in them and was there the entire time, remembering their rather recent confrontation with Sombra. It dawns on Twilight what they have to do:

They have to sacrifice themselves to weaken Grogar's power for a short time, which means that others can take him out once they are gone.

Additionally, for some reason, the book she found that information in said that Grogar himself has to "destroy the Elements of Harmony" to get weakened like that. She tells her friends and Spike what she found out and, even though they are in despair over this, they settle for it to save their homeland. Following this, they contact the Pillars of Equestria, explain them their plan and tell them that they need them near Canterlot.
Twilight and her friends make their way towards Canterlot and, arrived there, they meet Grogar again, who comes through a portal, likely able to sense them or he just saw them through his crystal ball. Twilight and her friends figured he would know about their arrival, so they decided to wait for him outside of Canterlot.
I'll explain the order of the events and how it can be seen that Twilight and her friends plan to sacrifice their lives for destroying Grogar, as well as that Grogar is the one who has to kill them, with the screenshots below.
Twilight and her friends arrive near Canterlot, with grim determination and still keeping themselves together:
.

.
Grogar comes through the portal. On a sidenote, you can see the windigos in the sky, which means that the plan Chrysalis hinted at after they retrieved the book about Grogar's Bell, to bring up the three pony tribes against each other, has already been put into motion there and was successful:
.

.
We know that it is Grogar who comes through that portal, because the portal looks exactly like his magic. You can compare this scene from the trailer with the moment when he chained Cozy Glow, Tirek and Chrysalis to the wall from "Frenemies". The magic looks the same.
After Grogar came through the portal and stands in front of them, their bravery falters. They know their time has come and they get together, embracing each other and cowering against each other in fear. Most of them look at Grogar in fear, Twilight, Applejack and Rainbow Dash don't allow Grogar to feel joy over their deaths by looking at him with fierce and determined, in Rainbow Dash's case even aggressive, expressions:
.

.
And here is what brought me to it that they will sacrifice their lives for the protection of Equestria. When you look at them, it is easy to see that they seem to brace themselves for an attack. An attack they can't stop and are helpless against, hence their fearful and strained expressions. Like they have just gotten defeated in battle or are getting vanquished by a foe much more powerful than them and they realize that they face their doom now.
However, if they expect an attack that they can't stop nor survive, why do they stay there? In such a situation, we would expect them to run/fly for their lives or for Twilight to teleport all of them into safety. But no such things happens or is attempted by them. They just stand there and face what's coming for them. The fact that they specifically sought out this place and that everything happens at the exact same spot, from the moment of their arrival to them cowering in fear, makes even more clear that they face their deaths on purpose there.
What really gives away that this is what's happening there, can be seen on these screenshots:
.

.
With how the camera is positioned right in front of them, with the motion blur and the camera zooming in on them, we can tell that they are in the aim of something that gets fired at them. They even close their eyes in fear. Something is being shot at them there. And yet, they don't attempt to get away and just let it happen, accept it.
The last piece of evidence gets added to this with the trailer having placed Twilight's line "This is gonna be the last battle ever" right before we see how something is getting shot at them without them getting out of the way. The scene above sets in right after that line by her ends. What Twilight means with that is that it is going to be their last battle ever. The last battle of the Elements of Harmony to protect Equestria from its enemies by sacrificing themselves.
It's hard to choke this down, but the only real conclusion to take from this is that we see them sacrificing their lives to weaken Grogar and to save Equestria from him that way in the trailer. Which is, as I can see now, where the complaints about the Finale and the remarks that the entire show is pointless now, that I heard, come from.
Nearly everyone in the fandom has always held the Mane Six in very high regards. We've seen them grown and develop and fulfill their dreams but, now that they will apparently die, a lot of people feel that everything we've seen in G4 is pointless, because no matter their accomplishments in life, they were steadily going towards their deaths in the years since Nightmare Moon returned and Twilight came to Ponyville.
I will still counter this, however. I will wait until after the Finale to go into more detail about it, but even with the Mane Six dying now, their lives, that they accomplished their dreams and what they did with these accomplishments, like Rainbow Dash's contributions to the Wonderbolts, still matter, because they left an impact on Equestria and on other ponies. Saying that all we saw them doing since Season 1 doesn't matter anymore because they died to save Equestria is cynical and it is ignorant of the mark they left on Equestria. What they did isn't pointless, it left an impact and that is something you should never forget if you REALLY care about them.
Continuing now, what happens after their sacrifices? There are only a few more moments in the trailer that show us that.
.

.
Rockhoof, Mage Meadowbrook, Mistmane, Flash Magnus, Starswirl and Somnambula (not seen in the trailer, but of course they won't be there without her) get ready to attack Grogar and take him out after the Mane Six sacrificed themselves and while he is weak enough to get destroyed. Starswirl is shocked for a moment, upon having witnessed the deaths of the Elements of Harmony, but he focuses and attacks Grogar a moment later. You see them standing on a trench on these screenshots. It's a trench left by Grogar's attack when he killed the Mane Six during their sacrifice.
The line by Starswirl about spreading out and being ready will be said by him once Grogar attacks the Mane Six, right before their sacrifice.
What happens from there on out is something I can't tell. The trailer does not offer more than what you see here. I think it's obvious that the Finale won't be over immediately after that. And whether the Pillars of Equestria actually succeed in taking out Grogar or if something unexpected occurrence prevents that, remains to be seen.
But up to that point, I think this is what is going to happen, after piercing together the scenes from the trailer and attempting to bring them into a chronological order. This is the first time that I tried to predict the events and the order of events of a two-parter (or, in that case, three-parter) so exactly and it pains to think of it that it is also the last time. Season 9 made me realize that I should have done such in-depth analyses much earlier.
Anyway, this is what I think is going to happen. Will I be right? We're all going to find out in a few hours. I see you on the other side.

It's definitely an exciting final, I can tell you. I also got a personal option, but this will wait until you post the rest.

This was the most epic and most beautiful thing I've ever seen in my entire life. I have so many thoughts and feelings in my head and in my heart now..... It's going to take days to work through all of this.

Take your Time. Regarding cozy, i might have an idea, if you like to hear it

Then what if they got resurrected as alicorns? This would have been so freaking cool.

Hmm.....

Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis firing at them and, in the last moment, Twilight's friends decide to push her out of the way, with Spike getting pushed with her, because he holds on to her. Twilight's friends die and she is completely broken. Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis fire at her again, but then the three pony tribes and the outside nations show up, after Lemon Crumble, Raspberry Dazzle and the Student Six rallied them together and led them into battle.
The unicorns protect her with a spell and the other creatures attack Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis. The same events happen, except with Twilight being distraught. They manage to somewhat lift her spirits after they told her what they did and Twilight, moved by the pony tribes and all the different creatures working together to save Equestria and also strengthened by a desire for revenge, frees the Pillars, Celestia, Luna, Discord and Starlight. She, the Pillars, the Student Six and the rest of the ponies and creatures (in replacement for Twilight's friends) combine their powers and defeat Tirek, Cozy Glow and Chrysalis in the same way. However, the Magic of Friendship also resurrects her friends as alicorns.
So the entire crisis ends with it that not only the villains are defeated and that her friends are alive again, but also that Twilight received a gift, that her friends will never leave her side because they are now just as immortal (or long-living) as she is.

Not what happened, but pretty epic and sounds like good fanfic material.
