    Never A Dull Moment

Thank you all for helping me out back in May  The support means the world to me, and thanks to your kind contributions I was able to go and visit my boy in Britain. I'll try and mock up a proper recap blog—though I am notoriously terrible at doing those, I don't think I've ever managed a proper recap blog for any of the various conventions I've gone to over the years. I guess there was

Well, here we are: the big day

I'm probably going to be writing several long, in-depth blogs over the next couple days about everything regarding the finale and the meta/community events surrounding such as I'm in a bit of a whirlwind both emotionally and life-wise at the second due to a massive amount of colliding factors, but i did have a few thoughts i thought i'd share ahead of time (particularly since I've been kind of quiet since the summer started)

1. I don't think the fandom is going anywhere anytime soon; fandoms don't immediately die after their primary material concludes, and our fandomalready went through a lot of population flutuations over the years; right now the fandom is mostly composed of diehards who have long abandoned the fad/meme/irony aspect that got a lot of people into it to begin with, and on top of that there's still new people entering the fandom. All the way up until the end there's still a clear interest present here, and plenty of people enter fandoms after the original run of a piece of entertainment concludes.
2. it's not like hasbro is just going to ignore g4 forever, particularly in this day and age where brand recognition seems to be a primary drive in the entertainment industry; I've heard several unconfirmed rumors of possible spinoffs, and I guarentee you there will still be things done with the material
3. on that note: we do have confirmations of a "season 10" from IDW comics coming out next year in the Spring. Depending on how you view that, that's either great or disappointing, but either way it's still more content that's as close to canon as you can get without directly being the show.
4. part of the appeal of pony was always the massive amount of creative content it fuels (in addition to the community it fosters), and just because the source material is "concluded" doesn't mean there's suddenly no fanfics to write, comics to draw, etc. In fact, now that the often controversial canon is in somewhat of a stasis (depending on how canon you count the supplementary material), it's going to be easier to create fan content in a lot of ways.
I mean, I'm still working through ideas I got back in like 2013; I once said years ago that I was gonna stick around until I wrote everything I felt i wanted to write. I meant that. So at the very least I'm going to be around here for a while.
not like i have anything else going on lmao
5. And of course, there's going to be g5

just a brief and poor explanation of some relevant things that have been going around in my thoughts for a while; also consider this my check-in to let yall know i aint dead.

stay fresh, cheese bags

I was wondering where you had headed off to. Good to see you're still hanging around.

Yeah, I'm with yeah on basically all of that. I mean, look at Trekkies. Star Trek has been long over and there are still diehards. I know I'm not going anywhere anytime soon. I have at least my current fic to finish, and another, much shorter one that's been sitting around that I want to finish also. And if G5 keeps us interested, it'll only keep us around even longer. See ya along the way!

HEY! MOM SAID YOU COULDN'T CALL ME A CHEESE BAG ANYMORE!

Aye, I've no plans to leave anytime soon. :)

5136219 You make a good point.

And I do believe that the ancient Egyptians put it best: "To remember someone's name makes them immortal".

I can think of no better fate for our beloved ponies and friends.

Because despite all the debate as to whether Twilight actually is immortal and will outlive the girls (I personally hold to Meghan's comment that she isn't and won't), the solid truth is that so long as we, their loving and faithful fans, remember them, and keep them in our hearts, Immortal is exactly what they all are.
Having wings and/or horns (for those not born with either one) notwithstanding.

And hell, look at Star Wars. The original trilogy was years ago, and as far as I know, the SW fandom is still going strong.

And I'm not going anywhere, either.
Got too many ideas swimming around in my head yet to get done and posted here (and elsewhere) to go anywhere.
