    Artwork!

Hey, check out this neat artwork by Siansaar! It's the young royals as of the epilogue of CRISIS: Equestria - Divergence, Book 3! Which does technically entail a spoiler, since one of the four is unique to Divergence and not in the original, for reasons.

    Companion Piece

For readers of CRISIS Divergence, Book 3, in-between Chapters 13/14, there's a special little event that takes place between a few particular characters. For those curious, Derpibooru happens to have a depiction of such an event, which can be found under 2743900, I believe. Hmmmm.

    CRISIS: Equestria - 10 Year Anniversary-ish

Ten years ago(-ish), the first chapter of CRISIS: Equestria was published on Equestria Daily. I say "-ish" because due to how EQD posts, I actually don't know the exact date it published on anymore! But I do know that it posted up roughly around

CRISISverse Alternate Selves · 3:20am Oct 12th, 2019

Obviously, CRISIS: Equestria was built on a simple concept: alternate, antithetical versions of the Mane Six pitted against the originals. But even besides that, the concept of alternate selves is a solid concept brought up in a lot of alternate universe stories. Usually, these alternate versions are pretty much the originals with a few small changes here and there that they're still fundamentally the original character.

Take the Lunaverse, for example. Trixie is still Trixie, but she's given just enough differences that she's a little something different.

Then there's stories with more significant differences, typically because they were written before a certain canon character that filled that role existed.

Take The Immortal Game, in this case. Esteem is the father of Rarity, whe n clearly within canon that role belongs to Hondo Flanks, and the two characters couldn't be any more different in both appearance and personality.

The CRISISverse has alternate versions of canon characters as well within its setting, typically in a combination of the two styles, not counting the Mean Six, who are explicitly created in-universe as alternate versions of the canon characters. I thought it might be neat to share those connections:

Flathoof = Big Macintosh. This one is practically spelled-out within the story; they share the same hard-working mentality, family connections, and share similar colors and builds. His brother and sister, Shorthoof and Pattycake, are also Apple Bloom and Applejack, though we never see the latter in-fic.

Lockwood = Derpy Hooves. Similar coloration, Lockwood ends up with an eye problem, both are well acquainted with multiple ponies in their 'neighborhoods', and neither is a particularly good flyer.

Cutlass and Barnacle = Snips and Snails. Similar appearances, related names, and identical manner of speaking.

Briarthorn = Braeburn. Similar appearances, similar roles in their introduction (welcoming the cast to a new location and showing them around).

Silvertongue = Prince Blueblood. Similar appearances, similar dedication to beauty and perfection, similar noble connections.

Harmonia and Nihila = Princess Celestia and Nightmare Moon. Spelled out during the last chapters of the story; similar coloration, power, reputation, and relation to good and evil.

This, of course, is the extent of it within the original story. For those of you reading the prequel, A Royal Affair, there are additional alternatives introduced throughout that story, however, I won't reveal who's who among those until the story is done so as not to spoil things.

But, for those curious, the following characters are all given some sort of alternative version:

Twilight Sparkle
Rainbow Dash
Pinkie Pie
Rarity
Fluttershy
Scootaloo
Soarin'
Spitfire
Fancy Pants
Fleur de Lis
Diamond Tiara
Maud Pie
Limestone Pie
Marble Pie
Starlight Glimmer
Sunburst
Tempest Shadow
Moondancer
Cheerilee
Lyra
Bon Bon
Aloe
Lotus
Shining Armor
Princess Cadence
Flurry Heart

If you've been reading the prequel, feel free to guess who's who that you've seen so far!

All I know is you're the best at writing pinkie being PINKIE I think I've ever come across.
And their counter styles are amazing.

I've been meaning to say... That when alt Twilight is called a thesaurus and rambled on; not only did I laugh out loud, very loudly, but I imagined her saying it all in Plankton's voice.

Lockwood = Derpy Hooves. Similar coloration, Lockwood ends up with an eye problem, both are well acquainted with multiple ponies in their 'neighborhoods', and neither is a particularly good flyer.

I had never considered that. Derpy even comes up in CRISIS. Now that you say it, I see it.

Briarthorn = Braeburn. Similar appearances, similar roles in their introduction (welcoming the cast to a new location and showing them around).

This one I feel justified not noticing.

Oh wow, that’s a lot. Whooo, hoo. Alright, let's do this.
Twilight Sparkle: I don't know.
Rainbow Dash: Rainbow Blitz
Pinkie Pie: Cotton Candy(That’s Don's head captain's name, right?)
Rarity: Silver Glow
Fluttershy: Don't remember.
Scootaloo: Don't remember.
Soarin': Probably a pilot, just a guess.
Spitfire: Also probably a pilot.
Fancy Pants: Don Fantismo. ...I'm bad with names.
Fleur de Lis: His wife. Don't remember her name.
Diamond Tiara: Thier kid.
Maud Pie, Limestone Pie, Marble Pie: The three Pie sisters were Candy's sisters.
Starlight Glimmer: Don't remember.
Sunburst: Don't remember.
Tempest Shadow: The new director of security. Glitterdust, maybe?
Moondancer: Don't remember.
Cheerilee: Don't remember.
Lyra: One a tha Don's lieutenants.
Bon Bon: Her partner.
Aloe: One a the Tea sisters.
Lotus: The other Tea sister.
Shining Armor: Blackburn's grandfather's bodyguard.
Princess Cadence: His wife.
Flurry Heart: Their kid.

17 outa 26, not bad, but not up to tha 75% I had for the original. I'll have ta keep this list in mind when I reread A Royal Affair.
