    First Figures(conclusion)

Welp, I got them. I recieved 11 Ork Boyz over the holidays...along with two Primarch books.(Konrad Curze and Jaghatai Khan)

But alas, a working holiday allows little time for models...I couldn't open them before my vacation ended and I returned to my Trade School, and I sure as hell wasn't going to bring with me, they wouldn't survive.

    First Figures (Update)

Okay, so now that I've actually seen the price for Blood Of The Phoenix...it is too expensive for me to afford at this time.

But, I decided 'screw it' I'll just start from a truly humble beginning and drop 30 bucks on a mob of Ork Boyz (Orks are my favorite anyway)

More on the story as it develops.

    First Figures

Okay, so you all know that all of my stories (at present) are Warhammer 40k crossovers. And thus: you all know that I am a fan of the franchise.

What you may not know is that due to the obnoxious prices, I have never purchased figures for the tabletop game. Well I'm (hopefully) ending that this holiday season.

My target: the brand new Blood of the Phoenix box set.

Now, Eldar are not my favorite faction, but the fact that I can use all the figures as an Aeldari army is the deciding factor here.

However, rather than just going with the canon story that these figures are based on, I am going to use them to build a Homebrew Cult of Isha.

To that end I wanted to post my current ideas and get help from more seasoned 40k fans to help me fill in the gaps.

For starters, their origins: This'll be a little tricky purely because half of them are Drukhari (Drukhari serving Isha are even rarer than repentant Word Bearers) so I'm thinking that they learn of Isha's survival (most Eldar think she's dead) through a vision-dream, and the psychic backlash of feeling Her presence guilts the Dark Eldar into serving her. Also: a passive ability (that doesn't effect gameplay) that says since the Drukhari are psychically linked to Isha, they sustain themselves on Her sorrow and despair which sustains them indefinitely.

The Howling Banshees don't really need much more (in fact, it would take a lot less) to ride out in Isha's name, which, of course, brings us to the endgame of these 'Ishari' (if anyone has a better name, comment below)

The Ishari are, naturally, trying to save Isha. But Isha will have told them about that one Craftworld who tried to pick a fight with Nurgle and got their asses kicked. So, they're (As Eldar do) going on a mysterious and convoluted quest.

Step one: Get more Eldar. Since the Ishari will only consist of the Blood of the Phoenix recolored, their story is going to be very slow as I gradually add to their numbers over various holidays, so that's it for their origins and objectives.

For the characters, this is what I'll need help on the most. Because the Ishari are led by a Phoenix Lord OC that looks exactly like Jaine Zar and an OC that looks like...I do not remember the name or title of the Dark Eldar character.

However, I pretty much got my ideal color scheme drawn out in my head. Naturally, since these are cultists of Isha, I'm doing Earth tones: a green primary with a brown or lighter green trim, I'm coloring the Incubi's horns to look like wood (and if I can, I'll kit bash them into antlers) and the Banshees' hair to look like leaves.
For the Phoenix Lord's heckin long pony mane, I'm thinking a season-change style, the first fourth will be light green (Spring) that transitions to yellow (Summer) that transitions to orange (Autumn) that ends with brown (Winter). Also, there's a leafy vine wrapped around her spear.

That's all I got off the top of my head, but shoot me some questions and I'll either come up with answers or ask for opinions, please help me do this right.

Ah, I assume you're saying that you don't buy them yourself. (Or are you trying to tell me that buying them I'd a bad idea?)

no for me is bad i live in a contry that have no game workshop store and bad mail servise plus i like to read the books dont have time work on models i did try once it was fun but to much to do. for you i can only say i think its a good idea if you comit to it so best of luck

Aye, congrats on stepping into the model side of the 40K universe mate, always fun to see people's ideas come alive in different mediums.

Eh, I wish I could be of more use for actually bouncing ideas, (I'm massively skewed in favour of 30K rather than Xeno's and 40K) but from what I recall in my 'little while' in the hobby and lore side of things it's cool.

An Aeldari. Ynnedi (think that's the newfangled phrase) Cult of Isha army would be pretty unique and very cool. Frankly the models all work, Dark Eldar can always be seen as less of typical 'Drukhari' Dark Eldar and more of the corsair/Exodite/pirate raiders that have plagued the stars since time immemoria for humans. No reason why they have to be subservient to Vect or the Commorragh dynasties, or they could have seen Yvraine's little spectacle and come on side.

Either way, hope ya keep us all updated on it too. It's always fun to see projects (an d the colour scheme sounds pretty good.) Armies tend to get big when you aren't particularly paying attention*, so it's all good.

*Trust me

Well, it is expensive i give you that. But what kinda army do you want it to be? Like tabletop playable? or just as a hobby painting? Open play or matched play.
And a i see a problem with command points because i remember a rule where it says that if a a army is mixed, then you cant do mixed detachment, switch lowers your command points. Switch are quite important with stratagems. Then painting, i would recommend wraith bone spray cover you models with white to better stick your other paints. Then i would recommend contrast paints, to paint large parts like armor. Small parts like eyes and gems etc. . Would be done with layer paint. And remember to thin your paints. And nuln oil is my favorite to crate shadow effect of gaps
That is all that comes to my mind atleast.

Well, I honestly have no idea how the command points work...because I don't really know the rules.

This is just going to be my test army, if I only end up using to play with friends and family who know even less than I do, it's fine by me, but I'll learn more of what I can and can't make by actually having figures. Also:the minute my mother heard you can paint these things, she was all over it. (She only knows as much about 40k as I've summarized in brief explanations about less than half the factions)

Well command points are not necessary to play. I have seen mixed armies before, like that one time i got my ass handed to me by a imperial guard player ho used command point to teleport a squad of deathwing terminators to middle of my army and a same turn with more of command point. Let loose with all kinds of heavy weapons.
Then today i played against a khorne berzerker army (1000 point) with my admech. Me mostly having my shooting army took positions with my kastellan robots ho can have a lot of shot in one turn. Sou i killed one of his hellbrutes in first turn. But a second helbrute managed to almost destroy my dunerider switch had a 10 man squad of ruststalkers inside, sou i disembarked them and charged that helbrute and they absolutely destroyed it. But at the same time helbrute exploded and killed 7 of my ruststalkers. In a revenge i took my dunerider and charged to a 2 full squads of khorne berzerkers and used my stratagem that can explode my vehicle instantly. Killing 16 out of 20 astartes. In the end i won with only a Belisarius, 2 kastellan robots and a datasmith.
