A JD Review: MLP Season 9 Episode 23 - "The Big Mac Question" · 1:09am Oct 7th, 2019
The one where Bic Mac gets hitched.
And here we are. Another Apple Family member gets married. Lets hope it goes better than last time.
Oh, well. Another episode down, and only two more to go... then it's over. But before that, WEDDING TIME! But before even that, PROPOSALS! This week, we see that Bic Mac is ready to pop the big question to Sugar Belle and ask her to be his wife, and only Spike and Discord know about this. However, Sugar Belle is planning to do the same thing, with the CMC and Mrs. Cake helping her pop the same question to Big Mac. Lots of hilarity and shenanigans ensue, what with Discord being involved you know the episode is gonna be fun. A really heartwarming ending to these two's story, and a heartwarming calm before the storm...
I loved this episode. Very cute. Very funny. Very fitting to see off these two characters with a marriage, and to tie it into arguably one of the best episodes of the entire series (Perfect Pear) was absolutely beautiful. It's nice to get these final heartwarming moments before... well... next week will surely tell that tale.
The countdown has begun. One week to the ending that's been building for nearly ten years. Let's see off My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic one last time! Here's to the finale!

I definitely enjoyed the episode from start to finish. The interview segments that remind me of those stories where the cast confesses their involvement in what stirred the trouble, jumping back and forth between stories, the emotional moments between Big Mac and Sugar Belle, the subtle Lyra and Bon Bon proposal, and even a Star Trek reference from Granny Smith... It was definitely a better episode than I thought it would be. While the story I imagined was 'slightly' different and more dramatic than what we've got, nevertheless this episode proved to me as to why Big Mac was meant to be with Sugar Belle (Even though I still feel bad it was all at the expense of seeing Marble Pie unhappy). And a pretty subtle way of tying the 'Perfect Pear' with this story, I just hope their union doesn't end in tragedy like it did with his parents.
Its three episode not two. Also, a missed opportunity to have William Shatner in the same episode as John De Lanicie. Still a good episode.
10 outta 10's all around, was just a great episode from beginning to end, though I wonder why they had moments of the other members of the episode talking to the camera saying who is to blame for them ruining the proposal
Great episode. Hilarious and heartwarming, plus it was great they had the wedding in the same place as Bright MAC and Buttercup’s.
Now we are finally in the Endgame. The final three episodes all airing back to back. Hope everyone is ready.
This was just a fun and entertaining episode. I always did like how Dungeons and Discord made Spike, Big Mac, and Discord a trio. Which is funny considering they are probably the most important male characters in the show. They were always fun when there together and it's the same here.
I also like how everyone messed up here and it wasn't one person's fault for messing it up. I also loved the shot when they were in front of the Apple and Pair tree with the sun shining through it. Really nice shot.
Easily one of my favorite episodes in a season. Top 5 for sure.
10 years of pony....this series is truly one for the ages. I truly hope G5 will live up to its predecessor.

After nearly 10 years of waiting and preparing, how could we not be?
Well , I guess we can say that we're in the Endgame now ? Ok , I already made this joke a thousand times , doesn't mean I'll stop tho !
Btw , it's 3 episodes to go ! If I remember correctly , the finale is in 3 parts !
Anyway , it's review time !
I ain't gonna go by 32 ways , this episode was great and even tho I kind of wanted an episode involving Twilight and Celestia to show how they evolved etc , this is a great ending to the "normal" episodes of the series .
"But what makes this episode great" you say ?
Well first of all Discord is in it , which is all the bonus points in the world since that dude is bloody funny .
Second thing , the "interview" kind of thing (even tho at the end we learn that they are just telling how it happened and it's not actually an interview) was something I really wanted to see again from that episode about Rarity's new shop because it changes quite a lot from the classical episodes .
Third thing , I absolutely adored that the episode is basically in three parts with two points of view :
the one with Spike , Discord and Big Mac
and the second with the CMC , Ms.Cake and Sugar Belle .
While the third part is them joining together and celebrating the wedding .
I won't go over every detail but know that it was really good , and if you didn't see it ; why are you here , go watch it !
Anyway , now for the (possibly final) Cuteness Ladder !
God dammit , MLP ! That's the third meter you break in a single season ! Have mercy on my heart ! I can't take so much cuteness !
In case that doesn't make it for you , this episode get's 42/10 on the Cuteness Ladder !
Overall , this episode is a great way to end the "normal" episodes of the series and while has said earlier , I would have enjoyed even more another kind of episode , this one does the job and is a perfect way to end the cycle . How ironic that the final "normal" episode is not about one or all the ManeSix , uh ? And for all this (and the fact that it's the last "normal" episode , which gives it bonus points) , this episode gets a 18/20 !

Should I go back in the reviews and actually make them blog posts ? Of course I'll change some of em and if you want it , I'll even credit you for basically making me able to write them . Technically yes. Episodes 24 and 25 are a two-parter and episode 26 is an epilogue, but put them all together as they are confirmed to be and it is actually a three-part finale.
