I write, I draw, and both tend to be a bit grimdark. Hopefully writing ponies will mitigate that somewhat.

Hey Rusty, What Have You Been Up To?

Well, for one thing, I've been spending a large amount of time working on THIS with the great Wanderer D. It's a collaboration we've had in the works for a while now, and it's really cool to see part one of it up. I know it's not

    So about them updates...

No, I'm not dead, and neither is Backwards Through the Mirror. However, some very troubling things have happened of late, and I've had little time or energy to work on writing.

    Graduated!

As of May 25th, 2013, I have officially graduated with my BA: Art, Concentration in Studio Practice, Preparation for Teaching. It's been seven years in the making, and a great deal has altered in my life since I first arrived on my campus. I met my first boyfriend there, my first girlfriend, established an unsavory reputation and then rose above it. I met the girl I'm going to marry there, and

    Guess who's a silly pony.

    I am!

So you know that next chapter of BTtM I kept promising? Well, I went and convinced myself I'd posted it five days ago, and I was all bummed that no one was commenting. Then I went and looked at my page, to poke at it and check for any comments I may have missed, or stray up-votes... And lo and behold, I went and forgot to post the silly thing!

    So I just noticed...

The bulk of the referrals for BTtM (thank you whoever started using that acronym), come from facebook, but I've got no idea why. I don't have a facebook page, so it's next to impossible for me to figure out which page they came from, but like over 100 of them are from some facebook page.

So here's what happened · 6:13am Nov 13th, 2012

I'm so sorry about the radio silence and that. I've been struggling with a lot of things, trying to get even this short update out, but I will be updating more soon.

But here's what happened, in no particular order:

My laptop died from having a quarter of a bottle of coke spilled on it
A best friend of mine had a cancer scare.
Multiple friends had loved ones suicide.
My laptop rose from its grave, entirely unexpectedly, and is now working mostly fine.
I have a 3000 word term paper I'm writing as part of my last full semester in college.
My mother's going in for brain surgery soon.
And my girlfriend's had multiple emotional breakdowns from stress.

Which is why, I'm sorry to say, I haven't updated.
However!
I shall be updating more in the future, in longer chapters, since the arrival of the new season of ponies has spurred me on, and I apologize for the tininess of this update.

And you don't have breakdowns from stress? Geez....

hey man, no worries, life happens. I hope everything works out okay for your mother, and good luck on that term paper, im in university, so i know school can be a real bitch.

Wow... I have no words.

I am sorry to hear that life has been hitting you pretty hard Rusty. This story is a very minor concern ontop of what you listed. I hope things work out better for you!

May fortune favour you!

Yay updates! :pinkiehappy: I've been waiting for forever for them! I hope you plan on being regular in some way shape or form.

Just glad to see you haven't died on us or anything! Feel free to take your time, we understand that real life can get in the way.

Sorry to hear about all this bro. My wife had cancer on top of endometriosis but it was small and completely remove during her recent surgery. Cancer is a scary thing. My best wishes for your mothers surgery. My wife's grandfather just had surgery to remove five major blockages in his heart. He survived but is being a big fuckig baby now about it.

If you don't mind living without your laptop for a couple days you can removed all of the keyboards keys and wipe down the inside area with a semi soapy dishrag then place the computer (with exposed ports completely covered) into a bag of dried rice or large bowl or pan. Let it sit for a couple of days then remove it. All of the liquid will have been sucked up by the rice. Ive drowned my iPhone I don't know how many times and have done this. It still works lol. As for the GF having breakdowns Talk other to try and help resolve what's been causing her problems. It happens to a lot of people. Myself included. Talk to her and try to comfort her though.

As for everything else. Good luck is all I can really say.

It's cool, and thank you for coming back. Life can be... Harsh, for lack of a non-profane word. It's better to make sure everything's fine on the home-front before marching off to battle, no? :twistnerd:

I've said it before to other authors and I'll say it again. I'd rather you be happy & healthy and in a position where writing is a joy rather than a burden one feels they must uphold. Take what time you need to sort out and deal with your Real Life. I'm not particularly impatient so I can stand to wait as long as it takes. Good Luck in your future regardless of where that takes you!

Yeah, really. :rainbowhuh:
Anyways, glad to hear you're okay. God bless.

you laptop probably had a temporary short circuit, which didn't fry anything, but did fuck up the system for a while. the other stuff...wow, that sounds stressing to say the least.:twilightoops:

Wow, that's a good amount of stuff. Kinda surprised the coke didn't eat your computer.

Dear merciful God, and you apologize for the lack of updates? :pinkiegasp:
I mean, seriously, Rusty. We can always wait, you know. :pinkiesad2: Please, take care of your own problems first. And let me wish you all the good luck you can get while dealing with them. :pinkiesad2:

Life comes first. We're here for you.
