Twilight Sparkle Improving Lives? (Friendship is Failure)

    People sure love to complain...

She always tries her best to get through to those with friendship problems and help them improve their lives, no matter how much they reject and act hostile towards her.

She gets disrespected a lot because she wants to help people, even though she's a princess who's saved Equestria on multiple occasions.

I HAVE to, or you just WANT me to?

People often go about saying... "You HAVE to move on." "You HAVE to let go." "You HAVE to Improve" "You HAVE to this" "You HAVE to that."

But here's the real deal to consider. Do I really HAVE to, or do you just WANT me to? That's the ideal.

A lot of people have been getting up my back lately, all yakking at me the same thing.

The show ended (This many) years ago. Why are you still making stories if they no longer have purpose?

Idiots... that's not how it works.

DEVELOPMENT AND DESIGN

Celesto was inspired Princess Celestia from the "Friendship is Magic" series (As well as just a reediting of the character.) His name "Celesto" is of Latin origin, and the meaning of Celesto is "heavenly". Associated in Catholic countries with Popes. Michael Mikulak had stated that he wished the character name to have the same meaning as Celestia's name ("Celestia" meaning "Sky" or "Heavenly") but was only able to locate 5 baby names (One of them being his own), and decided that "Celesto" was the most appropriate, but to avoid controversy to people believing it is a copy of Celestia's name, he had stated that Celesto's name be pronounced in proper Latin as its origin "CHe-Less-Tow"

Rather than calling him "Prince Celesto" or "King Celesto" Mikulak stated that he preferred his royal title be "The Grand Ruler" as a reference inspired from an episode of Teen Titans "Betrothed" and also due to the fact that the character was not born into royalty but rather was appointed by his people, and that this title would not change, even after the character's marriage to Celestia.

Mikulak insisted on voicing the character himself and immediately permitted no auditions for the role. His reasons being, apart from he himself having an unwanted Cartoon Crush on Princess Celestia, he wished the character not be botched or altered into a fool or something intolerable.

As Mikulak quoted: "Lauren Faust quit My Little Pony due to creative differences between herself and Hasbro, and was denied many of her visions and hopes, and I wish this not to be repeated with my stuff. The character is mine, I am his father, therefore if he needs blood, or a voice, they shall come from me.

As a humanoid, Celesto stands much taller than most humanoid creatures, whereas regular fully-grown humanoid ponies only seem to reach about the height of his waist, while more grown supreme ponies like Princess Carance or Shining Armor seem to reach the height of his chest. Very few creatures such as Celestia, Luna, and Lord Titan are his equal in height which the except of an inch or two, Celestia being shorter than he.

Though an alicorn, as a humanoid creature, Celesto does most menial tasks with his bare hands rather than the use magic.

His mane, though short, unlike Celestia and Luna's long wavy manes, his mane serves as a magical window to the known charted universe, which he is able to extend and envelope the area of his immediate surroundings to serve as a map of the cosmos. Because his mane is so short, and already has its own specialty, whereas Celestia and Luna's manes seem to flutter magically without any assistance of a breeze, Celesto's cape serves this function as it seemed to flutter and sparkle without there being a breeze. However, as is revealed in Episode 24 of Season 1 "Devastating Destruction" his cape loses its flutter and sparkle, and his mane goes out and becomes plain Navy Blue when he is in a state of extreme depression.

Despite being originally born an Equestrian, Celesto does not have a cutiemark. This was Mikulak's request due to his disapproval of cutiemarks and wishing them not to be on his characters.

Apart from the characters being fully-clothed and the marks, were there any, being hidden from view, Mikulak quoted: "I think cutiemarks are very silly-- the fact that it takes a picture tattooed on your rear-end that explains your talent and is treated as if it is a college degree. It is far too bias as many people in the original "Friendship is Magic" series made such big fusses over the objects, some even treating those with no mark as inferior beings and subjected them to teasing and taunting. Also, what if a pony excels at more than just one talent or skill with equal levels, but you only get one mark?

To this, Celesto was designed so that, as an extremely powerful pony, his mark, being the Child of the Gods were his golden wings and his three horns, but his magic and abilities have rendered him impervious to the magic that allows cutiemarks to appear. This condition would be passed on to the future race of all Space Ponies due to their begin created with his magic-- the very magic that stops cutiemarks.

DEPICTION IN THE SERIES

PRIOR TO THE SERIES

Celesto was born to two unnamed Earth ponies, but they were astounded to discover his golden wings and three golden horns. A disembodied spirit had informed them that they had given birth to a rare super pony, chosen by the gods that would one day possess extraordinary levels of magic and power, and that he was to be guided and given proper direction.

Young Celesto was often bullied, taunted, and ostracized by other ponies due to his three horns and golden wings. As a result he made virtually no friends, and often kept himself feeling self-conscious about his appearance. One day he met Young Celestia at a summer camp where she was attending to train for her royal coronation as Princess of Equestra, and was instantly attracted to her, but fearing she would only laugh at him and his appearance, he used a spell to make it seem had had only one white horn, and he changed the color of his wings to match the color of his coat.

His disguise was eventually exposed by bullying ponies, and he was laughed at and teased mercilessly, forcing him to flee in humiliation, but only Celestia dashed after him, questioning him for his actions, and upon revealing she had no objections to his appearance and giving him confidence and kindness, they soon very close friends.

Celestia had often scheduled play-dates for herself and Celesto, as well as it being part of her Princess Training, and the two grew closer and closer-- even going as far as to show and teach each other new and wondrous things, like how to raise the sun or control magic.

As they grew older, and Celestia finally crowned Princess, she and Celesto were unable to be with each other as much anymore. So Celesto decided to enroll as a royal guard so he could be with her again. He spent every hour of every day for the next few years studying and training with little rest periods, and finally enrolled in the royal academy, where he was once again subjected to bullying and taunting from his fellow knights in-training.

He did not let this get to him and graduated with flying colors, and was appointed to be a royal knight, and he was also chosen by Celestia, who was impressed with his skills-- having watched him all that time-- to participate in a tournament to decide which knight to appoint as Captain of the Guard, and be her official Right Hoof of the throne. Celesto did very well up to the final round of the tournament, but was drugged by a bullying pony who put sleeping powder in his water which slowed him up and cost him the match, but this cheating was soon exposed and Celesto was awarded victory by default (It was heavily believed that Celesto would have won the match fairly had he not been drugged after all)

As Captain of the Gaurd and Celestia's right hoof, he got to spend much more time with her than ever, and remained loyal to his duties to protect and assist her, as well as partaking in the battles of Equestria where he helped vanquish King Sombra, and assisted Celestia and Luna in turning Discord to stone.

At a congratulatory gala, he and Celestia shared their very first dance, and after adjourning to the terrace, they finally admitted their true feelings and shared their first kiss.

Long after this, it was that Celestia presented Celesto with the red cape (Which would become his most treasured item) as a symbol of her love and proposal of marriage, feeling that he would be most ideal to rule with her by her side. Celesto, after some initial shock, gladly accepted.

It was at another gala held at the castle that they planned to announce their engagement, and Celesto would offer Celestia his own marriage gift-- The Rainbow Rod, which he had forged and shaped himself, and encrusted with jewels, but all was ruined by the appearance of Nightmare Moon-- the envious Princess Luna, corrupted by hate and jealousy of her sister-- who brought an army of Shadowbolts to do her bidding, and killed many ponies and guards alike at the gala, including Celesto's parents, prompting him to fight back fiercely, and that was when he unleashed the Uniforce for the first time and single highhandedly destroyed all the shadowbolts, but due to the fatiguing effects using the power, he was left weak and helpless, allowing Nightmare Moon to imprison him in a holo-gem prison and hurl him out into space where he was teleported , via the magical properties of the void of space, to a far away planet on the far side of the galaxy.

Celesto had awoken on a barren and desolate planet, with air, water, trees that bared food, enough to sustain him, but ultimatley came to the conclusion that he was lost and would likely never find his way back to Equestria.

Sometime later, he suffered severe injury after walking along a patch of unstable ground patched over a field of gas pockets, leaving him horribly crippled and barely clinging onto life. His only hope for survival was to rebuild and reshape his body, which he performed himself, via, open surgery, and after the painful procedure, he become humanoid-- with hands, arms, elbows, standing on two legs with knees, feet ankles and toes, ect, ect. He found that he was much better than he was before on all fours-- stronger, faster too.

It was then that he decided to use his magic and fix up the planet to make it more ideal as a suitable homeworld, and soon the planet was lush with green fields clear air, clean water and more trees to bear food, and vegetables to plant.

Celesto was still starving for companionship, and decided to create life himself, using spots of blood on his armor, from other ponies killed in the battle with Nightmare Moon, a few threads of hair from Celestia's mane and tail, also founded on his person, and mixing it with his own magic, he had succeeded in creating the first 100 baby space alicorns (He was only able to create alicorns due to the massive combinations of magic and DNA used) and he manipulated their DNA and blood types so that none were related by blood to permit future breeding.

He cared for his young, and taught them and trained them well, and together, they all began to discover ways of travesing the comos to explore and discover so much. After gaining so much respect from his kindness and good will, his people appointed him their leader, and he ascended to the throne as "The Grand Ruler" and dubbing the planet as "Unicornicopia" named for the Unity it stood for.

As kind and as loving as Celesto remained, he forbade the mentioning of his real name ever again, for all the bad memories it brought him of losing his former life and his love, which also spawned his deep-seated hated for evil and injustice. Fearing for the safety of his people and of other races, Celesto made a vow to to battle with such evil forces, and many ponies of his own race shared his vision and pledged their allegiance to him, thus forming the very first force of "Starfleet"

This lead Celesto and his forces to do battle with many foes, and establish prisons to detain them and maintain peace in the galaxy, which lead to their encounter with Lord Titan, whom was more vile and more deadly than any other evil they had faced, resulting in Celesto banishing Titan and imprisoning him on a Dark Planet, with a large barrier around it to keep him at bay.

As Unicornicopia continued to develop, great advancements were made in technologies, ecology, including the creation of the Battle Suits to aid Starfleet in Battle, while Celesto continued to maintain his kingdom, his people, and struggling against enemies from the stars. He decided to send space parties out to explore the cosmos further, to discover new planets to inhabit, or races they could help and maybe live apart with to extend their own quest for knowledge and discovery.

Centuries later, he had received word of a lone pony wandering the cosmos, and came across Young Lightning Dawn, the lone survivor of the destroyed Planet Harmonious, on the Planet Brogan, saving him from the hostilities. He took the poor little colt, and his faiy compainion, the manesic Krysta (Queen Krystalline of the Planet Luminous) and let them live with him in his floating palace in Unicornicopia.

soon, he realized that Lightning had much potential, and was in need of a boost of confidence and guidance, and decided to take the young pony on as his personal protege, and shaping Lightning into the strong and skillful fighter he would later become.

Though the training was tough, and gruesome, Celesto remained well to Lightning, caring for him like a second-father.

Season One

Celesto is first introduced in the prologue of the first episode in the first season in a serious medieval drawings on an ancient tapestry with a narration dictating the story of how Celesto (referred to by his title, "The Grand Ruler") fought against the evil Titan, banishing him and sealing him on the Dark Planet.

Celesto does not appeared until the second episode, where he appears before Lightning and his new friends after the defeat of a Puppet Clone of Titan, where he expresses his congratulations to Lightning's first victory, but then reveals to everyone of Titan's impending escape and how the planet is now in peril. He also expresses his deepest concern to the team on the terms that he will be unable to joint hem in battle as must attempt to maintain the seal and protect the civilians of the planet by raising the defense shields, but he expresses his deepest beliefs and faith in the team, and urges Lightning to join Starfleet to further his training, as well as help him to start a new life and help save the planet, to which Lightning agrees.

In Episode 3 Celesto entrusts Lightning with the Rainbow Rod he had kept with him through the ages, which was empowered by energies of the cosmos, so that Lightning would not be totally defenseless in battle.

He makes another major appearance in Episode 10-11 where he is the guest of honor at a banquet held in his honor, where he exhibits his fun side and his desire to party and have fun, and he lectures Lightning on what it means to be a true leader, being chosen by those who follow rather than power or strength. He engages in battle against Titan himself, proving to be equal in power to him, but only together with Lightning, his friends and their combined power, do they all manage to vanquish Titan from the planet (Unaware that he had in fact survived)

When Titans' minions gain newer, stronger powers, and prove to be too much for the team to handle, that he reveals to Lightning and Friends about the Star Stones and how they were hidden across the cosmos and are required to be retrieved to increase the teams' powers to combat the minions.

During the search for the stones, Celesto is shocked to discover that Krysta-- having recovered her memories-- had hidden a Star Stone on none other than Planet Equestria, which he had been searching for many centuries, causing him to faint.

The next episode, after Rhymey is sent to investigate Planet Equestria and retrieve the missing Star Stone, after some persuasion from Lightning and Krysta, that Celesto leads them to his private sanctuary deep within his sky palace, and reveals his origin, including his love for Celestia. He also expresses his doubt and concern of ever going back to Equestria for many good reasons such as feeling he would not fit in, having changed much over the ages, and fearing that even if Celestia is still alive that she would remember him.

In episode 21, after the fall of the evil Serpentari, Celesto is told word of the Planet Equestria enslaved by Super Nightmare Moon and Titans' former minions, and that Celestia is in danger. He orders Celestia and her fellow prisoners be brought to Unicornicopia, when done, he shares a very loving and tearful reunion with his lost love, but also takes the time to extend forgiveness to Princess Luna for her evil side banishing him into space.

The next episode, he and the others learn of Equestria's doom to explode, and sends a team to head back to stall Super Nightmare Moon and prepare the planet for evacuation, but Discord, having been turned into an evil demonic dragon, arrives and begins to blast the planet apart.

Overcome and frozen with devastation and grief of the loss of his beloved empire, he just stands in the ruins of the decaying city, with his cape no longer flowing and his mane no longer glowing. He regains his strength with strong words from the others to carry on, which unfortunately stalls them long enough for Discord to attack the floating sky palace to come crashing down on the team, and bury them under the derbies.

Having survived the burial by shielding everyone from the derbies, Celesto and the others make their way underground and escape in a rocket, after subduing Discord, and escaping the planet before it explodes. Though saddened by the loss of his planet, Celesto maintains his firm focus. After arriving on Equestria, he quickly attacks Super Nightmare Moon in a blazing rage, wanting revenge on her for throwing him into space centuries ago.

After Nightmare and the minions are destroyed forever, Titan reveals himself and absorbs both Celesto and Celestia inside of him, draining their strengths. They are both able to awaken while Lightning and friends give them their faith, their hopes and tell them the world believes in them and is count on them to win, allowing two to merge into Grand Celestial Ruler, and destroy Titan for good as well as escape the crumpling planet with their allies just moments before it goes, once rendezvousing with all the Unicornicopians and Equestrians, they all combine their powers together, so the Ruler can, and only ONCE, merge the remains of the two destroyed planets together to create a while new one, and transforming all the Equestrian ponies humanoid like the space ponies, and thus beginning to era of United Equestria, where Celesto and Celestia are finally married, and co-rule the planet together with Princess Luna, with equal rights.

Season Two

Celesto, now King of United Equestria (Though he still retains his "Grand Ruler" title) rules graciously over the planet with his wife, Celestia, and Sister-in-law, Luna, but he still commands Starfleet, and as well as working to fight the war against the Changelings, and The Robot Empire, he continues to train Lightning and his friends, as well as Twilight Sparkle and her friends-- teaching them the ways of combat, and true Starfleet fighting.

At one point he nearly gets into a deep-seated dispute with Twilight Sparkle for failing her during a field test, and chastises her for not "thinking the situation through." After much heated tension from Twilight, Celesto organizes a setup to help her realize the error of her ways; IE: making puppet clones of ponies appear to be trapped in a blazing mine with the roof caving in above them. He sternly orders Twilight (via telepathy) to extinguish the flames rather than teleport the ponies to safety first. Twilight reluctantly complies, but runs out of time to save the puppets as the roof caves in, after some heated lashings from Twilight, she finally discovered the error of her ways, and Celesto appears teaching her the importance of making the right decision when it comes to a difficult choice. He also expresses newfound admiration in Twilight added to his never-ceased faith.

During the battles with the Robot Empire, Celesto it outraged that Celestia would order Lightning and friends to call off an attack against the wounded Robot Leader, without his consent, and possibly jeopardizing the safety of the planet by letting the leader escape, only to be shocked to discover the leader is Cadance's long lost brother, Prince Fratello (Who was believed to have been long dead by everyone) After hearing the sad story of how it all happened, due to their being no other possibility under the circumstances, with an extremely heavy heart and remorseful guilt, Celesto orders that Fratello be destroyed on sight at the next possible moment, a decision that no one seemed to approve of, but had to agree with such reluctance!

During the season's climax, Celesto fuses with Celestia to form Grand Celestial Ruler, and they do battle with the monstrous machine Doom-Droid. Their positive pure energy combined with a negative energy spell, created by Chrysalis, causes a massive chaotic storm to rain down and destroy everything in its path, but after some quick thinking, and slick moves, the storm is ceased and The Ruler, combined with everyone else's power, destroys the Doom-Droid.

Celesto is present along with the entire team during the final fight against Chrysalis, where he along with the others, is beaten brutally to the ground, but after Chrysalis is rendered weakened and frail, he painfully stands up to her to shout his vow to bring her to justice, to which Chrysalis scoffs.

After The Changeling Queen is finally imprisoned, Celesto comforts a grieving Candace at the death of her brother, but later joins the celebration of their victory, where Celestia informs him that she is pregnant, which pleases him greatly.

STARFLEET MAGIC: THE MOVIE

Celesto is blessed when Celestia gives birth to their twin foals, Castor and Leilani, but the evil Distraught attacks, under the impression that Starfleet are the true evil ones and wishing to destroy them. He succeeds in destroying the general generator (The nerve of many of Starfleet's powers and resources) and succeeds in wounding Celesto and Celestia, placing them in comas for most of the movie.

During the climax, he and Celestia finally awaken, and merge into Grand Celestial Ruler to assist Lightning and friends to destroying Titan, whom was manipulating Distraught the whole time.

Celesto is among many to forgive Distraught for his actions, and presents him with a well-kept set of Draconiquii eggs, for him to restart his race for the better.

MY BRAVE PONY: STARFLEET HUMANS

In a flashback, Celesto is disturbed when Lightning reports how the Rainbow Rod was stolen by the evil Sapphira, whom had fled to the human world, and supports Lightning decision to venture forth and reclaim the weapon. After Lightning successfully returns from his mission, Celesto expresses his pride to Lightning.

SEASON THREE

When Celestia starts reviving threatening letters from an unknown and unseen assassin, at first he (As well as Celestia) does not take the threat too seriously for they are reputed to have nerves of steal when dealing with oncoming threats (Being the supreme monarchs, they are threatened quite frequently and adjust themselves to be brave.)

When the assassin makes constant but failed attempts on Celestia's life, he begins to take proper action as to safeguard his wife, not wishing to lose her again.

In the midst of the season, he expresses disdain and disapproval when everyone is given magical wishes, and chaos ensues from them. He scolds everyone for making poor wishes and causing trouble, and uses his own wish to undo the madness and dissolve the remaining unused wishes (Except for Goldwin who was not present at the meeting)

When the assassin finally reveals herself as Raven, and threatens everyone directly, upon seeing and experiencing how powerful she is and means to obliterate anything and anyone to get at Celestia, he orders that no one confront her should they spot her, fearing for their lives and not willing to sacrifice lives so recklessly.

When Twilight Sparkle defies these orders and chases after the fleeing assassin, after another failed attempt to kill Celestia, Celesto orders Lightning to chase Twilight and bring her back, then threatening to have Twilight busted for disobeying. He does not get the chance, however, as Lightning makes the Starfleet Cry of Woe (Used to signify a trusted soldier has been downed) horrifying him that Twilight had been killed in the battle against Raven.

During Twilight's funeral and live cremation, he is shown with looks of devastation and crushing expressions, and later speaks to the team where he eulogies Twilight's death, expressing his own emotions and understanding of the sadness (Having lost countless friends and soldiers over the ages), but encourages everyone not to forget Twilight, but to find their strength to carry on and fight in her name!

After Raven issues a final showdown with Celestia, in-spite of his own skepticism and worry, left with no other option, and still blaming himself partially for Twilight's death, he supports Celestia's decision to face her, despite the protests from everyone else and lectures them all on Celestia's Pride and Honor. He still expresses his worry to Celestia and fear of losing her, but informs her that she still has his full support and faith in her abilities.

He is present during the battle, but is kept outside by Raven's force-field. After Celestia emerges victorious, Raven is turned into a huge, hulking demon by one of King Sombra's Minions, forcing the couple to merge into Grand Celestial Ruler, but they struggle due to Celestia being weakened from the fight. In the end, with aid and assistance from their friends and belief from Twilight's angel, the team overpowers and destroys Raven once and for all.

In-spite of their victory over Raven, Celesto informs Celestia and the others to not let Twilight's demise control them and affect their fighting styles, and how fighting for Twilight's honor will not return her.

Another great turn of events is that he reveals to Lightning that he is, in fact, and Enticorn, and that his power is starting to awaken, and how their meeting and his training him was no coincidence, much to Lightning's shock and initial disbelief.

He intends to be the presider at the wedding of Lightning Dawn and Starla Shine, but when Starla is kidnapped and held for ransom by Sombra for the final piece of the shattered Crystal Heart, he initially dismisses any and all demands for a rescue, knowing Sombra is plotting for this, and he himself expresses his deep emotional concern for Starla's life, but fearing the shard is more important than even she is.

He ponders and painfully considered, but then ultimately accepts a possible plan to rescue Starla, and though Starla is safely retrieved, Sombra managed to secure the shard, completing the Crystal Heart, granting him untold power.

During the final battle against many monsters released from a dark abyss, Celesto fights to the extent of his power, but is left weak and tired like the rest and beaten brutally by Sombra, which ignites Lightning's Enticorn powers to destroy the evil king once and for all.

Celesto, along with Celestia and Twilight's spirit meet up with Lightning in a spatial dreamlike realm, where they express their pride in his triumph over Sombra, at which point Lightning is returned home and promoted to Supreme Allied Commander, and given a new uniform. Celesto then informs Lightning that he is no longer his teacher like he used to be, but will continue to be there for him whenever it is needed.

Celesto proudly presents Lightning to the people at a promotion ceremony, and once again presides over Lightning and Starla's wedding, finally completing the ceremony with pride.

SEASON FOUR

In the initial timeline, Celestia dies from a blood illness and Celesto is devastated beyond compare, but soon continues to run the planet, eventually leading to a discovery to remove the dark powers from all those imprisoned by Starfleet over the ages and finally able to pardon them and release them back into the world, but this came with dreadful consequences as the energy all clumped together forming a devastating entity that could not be dealt with in the current age. Celesto saw no other choice but to freeze United Equestria and the energy into dormancy until such a time that a technology or magic could properly dispel the evilness.

It wasn't until the 31st century that such a power had been discovered, and the energy was broken up and rendered harmless, allowing Celesto and all of United Equestria to awaken and start a new life in their futuristic world, which would eventually be threatened and attacked by The Dark King and his ever expanding army of darkness.

Celesto and his resources battled the evil master and his foes, repelling them from their city (which was the only unconquered space left in the entire universe) It wasn't until the Dark King began to send his forces to the past that Celesto ordered his, now-grown, children, Castor and Leilani to retreat to the past and aid the forces against the oncoming threat.

In the Present: Celesto knows nothing of the future (Due to it not even happening yet) but is puzzled and shocked when powerful enemies begin to appear, and too strong for the teams to handle as they are, but discovers more when their powers are suddenly and dramatically enhanced (By the aid of Future Castor and Leilani aiding the in the war)

Celesto grows concern when Celestia begins to show signs of illness, and is devastated to learn (via a message from his future children) that she will eventually die. He as well as Celestia keep this a secret from the others, not wishing to alarm them as well as she is being treated.

When The Phantom of Magic threatens to take the remaining cutiemark magic from the unaffected Equestrians, including Celestia, Luna and Shining Armor, Celesto offers to absorb all of the magic into himself, as he is a Space Alicorn and immune to the Phantom's power suction to keep the magic safe.

When The Phantom seems to attack, Celesto does battle, only to be overcome by his newly acquired and heavily overloaded power load, causing him to collapse in exhaustion, prompting him to train thoroughly, and it is also at this time that Celestia's illness is revealed to the team.

When Celestia is rushed into surgery, he embraces her and expresses his extreme worry and sadness at the thought of losing her. Though Celestia's operation is a success and she cured, she is left in a comatose slumber while her body heals, and he maintains a strong and constant vigil over her, even singing a song "Please Wake up" to encourage her strength.

(Celesto grieving for his wife's health)

Eventually, Celestia reawakens and is recovered, forcing Celesto to return her magic to her as well as everyone else's, which he does with pride.

When Future Castor and Leilani finally reveal themselves, he is shocked and astonished at who they are, and even more so when it revealed of the future and how the Dark King was created.

While working on a safe method to teleport into the future, Celesto and many of the others are ambushed and thrust unsafely to the future where they confront the Dark King and his forces, and Celesto begins to feel weak and decomposing due to being misplaced in time. The Dark King also sends Celesto back to the present, not wishing him to be harmed as he is an essential factor in the Dark King's existence.

Once back in the present, Celesto helps his Future children complete the time warp and returns to the future where he is greeted by his future self who has brought the entire Futuristic Starfleet to aid in the battle, and help vanquish the evil forever, and warping everyone back to the present, there he bids farewell to his future self, promising to take good care of Celestia, to which his future self responds saying he did better than himself, before vanishing.

STARFLEET HUMANS: STARPOPS

Celesto make a brief appearance when he and Celestia inform Lightning and his team about the Demonites and the Sirens threatening the human world, which prompts Lightning and co to go there to aid int he fights.

He makes another short appearance when Sirens try to escape through the portal, only to wind up in United Equestria and surrounded by the gaurds where Celesto declares them under arrest and informs them of their plot to capture the trio was a success. He calls them armatures and orders the guards to lock them up.

HUMAN IN UNITED EQUESTRIA

Celesto is among the first of many to try to comfort the human, Mykan Stevens, and make him feel welcome in their world, despite initial shocks and outbursts of temperament, Celesto feels that Mykan is essentially a decent person and refuses to believe the suspicions of him being a privateer sent by alleged pirates to spy on Starfleet.

Celesto sadly informs Mykan that he cannot be permitted to return to Earth (at least not through the Crystal Mirror) as he would change into a pony, and therefore not only be a risk to himself, but risk the ponies' world as well.

After Mykan is proven innocent of all suspicions and hailed a hero for defeating the enemy, as well as being informed of Titan's treachery on Earth, he permits Mykan to travel with Lightning back to Earth to partake in the mission. He and Celestia offer Mykan The Sword of Pure of Soul and the Shield of Righteous Courage as rewards for his heroism, as well as to arm himself for the battles ahead.

After Mykan becomes a permanent resident of United Equestria, Celesto and Celestia further compensate him for his troubles by giving him a magical cape allowing him to fly, and a teleporter to get to places quickly. They also pay off the lease on his residence in New Canterlot, and appoint him an official school teacher to help teach young ponies more about the human world.

SEASON FIVE

In the prologue of the season, it is revealed in a flashback that Celesto first encountered King Pinsar in the first battle against Titan, but using a puppet decoy of himself with an explosive attached to it, he damaged the Insecto mother-ship, blasting it deep into space and destroying the armada as well.

It is also revealed that during this time he had lost a good friend, Starlight Braveheart, who had lost his life in battle, and that he blamed himself for the loss of his friend (As he was far too preoccupied at the time assisting in other areas of the battle and helping other soldiers) which would continue to haunt him into the present.

When the Insectos begin to appear, Celesto, in a fit of panic, demands the shields be activated around the planet quickly. This fails and the planet is bombarded by ship lasers, killing some, injuring others, and sending Celesto into a sate of devastation and rage that his old enemy has returned.

Throughout most of the first half of the season, Celesto continuously exhibits angry thoughts of Pinsar and wanting nothing more than to face him directly and finish him to avenge Starlight Braveheart, which inadvertently gets him into small shorts with Celestia and the others.

He is also seen working with Professor Brain to perfect a capture sphere to read the minds and gain information of imprisoned Insectos before they are destroyed by Pinsar.

When the air is poisoned and barely breathable, he is the only one left awake with enough strength to warn Lightning, and start reviving others to assist in the danger.

Celesto is even more aggravated when Shining Armor is kidnapped by the Insectos, inflaming his lust to get at Pinsar even more.

When Pinsar attacks the planet himself, Celesto hears of this and flys off in a fit of rage, meeting up with him and engaging in a super-heated duel to the death, in the end, though gravely injured from the fight, Celesto managed to defeat his enemy and won his friend's revenge.

Upon the sudden stillbirth of Cadance's baby (Who is a PRINCE not a PRINCESS) he took it rather hard and felt crushed for Cadance.

During the Climax of season, he and Celestia finally gain enough power to become Grand Celestial Ruler, and single-handedly take out all the spaceships in the entire armada, including the mother-ship, destroying Queen Ladybird in the process.

SEASON SIX

When Brass Bolt is confronted for releasing all of Starfleet's prisoners, Celesto speaks severely to him and scorning him for putting the entire galaxy at risk, before having him arrested and charged with extreme treason and treachery.

When Lightning suggests that Princess Cadance and Shining Armor try to clone themselves a baby (as they are barren and sterile) Celesto is outraged and dismissive of the suggestion, fearing it could put Cadance and Shining Armor at great risk, but after much persuasion, and consent from the couple, he permits the procedure which leads to Flurry Heart's birth.

During the climax of the season, Celesto along with Celestia setup a plan to round up all the remaining un-captured prisoners by staging a dispute between Puppet Clones of themselves, and pitting them against one another in a battle to the end at the emptied royal palace, with Lightning trapped in the middle of things.

In the end, the deception works and the real Celesto and the Real Celestia, as Grand Celestial Ruler, round up the rest of the villains, returning them back to their cell. They are then heavily scolded by Lightning and the others for tricking them along in the plan (Despite the explained necessitates of the deception) and are reprimanded by the team to clean up the mess they made themselves.

SEASON SEVEN

Celesto is devastated when he hears of a space patrol being attacked by the evil Sienna, and worse still when one of the officers is teleported off into space and believed to be lost.

When Sienna reveals herself and begins her attack, he shows that he has extensive knowledge of the Jemma-Nite monsters.

When Captain Shadow coat is found frozen in ice, and thawed back to life, Celesto offers him a home in the palace and tries to help modernize him to the current age. Later, the two men talk in the virtual chamber and expressing their love and missing for "the good old days" which persuades Celesto to give Shadow Coat the position of a teacher and training of the old-fashioned ways of knighthood to teach to the cadets in-training, to which the position is well kept.

When it is discovered, that Lieutenant Sephy Dancer (the officer from the space patrol believed to have been lost) is found to be alive and well, and having sent a message on the behalf of others from another planet, he decides to accompany Lightning and co on a mission to see for himself. It is there, they do battle against Slash, defeating him and imprisoning him, and also united Captain Magnus Majik with his lost love, Sephy, and the two plan to remain behind on the planet whereas Celesto promises them to position of Commanders of the new Starfleet outpost planned for the area.

Celesto later appears again in the season's climax, to take part in the battle against the Chaos Guardian, where even his combined efforts with the teams only weaken it enough, for Lightning, in the end, to give it one final blast and finish it off for good.

Once Sienna and Mako make up for their quarrell, Celesto informs Mako that while his intentions are now pure, he must still answer to the crimes he and his sister have caused, to which Mako accepts without fuss.

SEASON EIGHT

Prior to the season, Celesto along with Celestia and Luna made negotiations with Queen Mowaza of the Planet Ainzul, to establish a Starfleet protection force for the inhabitants who were abandoning their fighting ways, and also accepted the agreement to safeguard the box housing the evil Stammadon.

While he doesn't appear as often as he does through most other seasons, Celesto still makes a few important appearances, such as seeking advice from the Ainzulians on how to stand up to Stammadon's forces, as well as giving Lightning and strong pep-talk when his student, Swift Star is kidnapped, and Court Martial him for disobeying orders.

When the Cutie Mark Crusader's families demand the Super Cyber Data Squad be disbanded, Celesto bluntly refuses their request, and states the overall importance that the team remain functional.

His best appearance in the season is during the climax against Stammadon's remaining forces, while he helps to defend New Canterlot Village, and combine his pure inner strength with everyone else to beat the war master for good.

PERSONALITY

Being well over 1000 years old, Celesto is exceedingly wise and knowledgeable, due to his vastness of experiences and travels through the cosmos. He learned many things before and during the era of Starfleet, which he passes on to many others.

Celesto acts as a father figure and mentor to Lightning Dawn during his years of raising and training and educating him. He also acts as a trainer and adviser to the other members of the team, offering them advice on how to overcome certain problems and deal with emotions. Sometimes, he will often just state proverbs or facts about the situations without thoroughly explaining them to the ponies, knowing they will understand what it means for themselves.

Example: When he tells Lightning Dawn to "Just believe" it is discovered he means to believe in one's self, to find strength and courage to go on despite the overwhelming odds ahead.

Another case is when, in Season 2, he tells Twilight Sparkle the difference between making the right choice based upon judgment and situation.

"Sometimes what you WANT to do you, is not what you SHOULD do."

Though he is royalty, and Commander of Starfleet, just like Celestia, he, too, exhibits a fun-loving side, enjoying simple party, celebrations and other forms of fun and joy, such as tap-dancing, playing ordinary party games, eating munchies with fruit-punch. Despite all this, he also does enjoy cultural and social events, such as ballet, opera, occasional grand dinners and galas.

As a trainer, he is known to be extremely tough; often pushing his pupils to the extent of their limits, and giving them hard and grueling courses to perform to strengthen them. He is also known to test their patience by acting harsh and rather cold towards them, especially when they do bad at tasks, such a denying someone their daily meal or a rest period. But he only does this in hopes to improve their training and strengthen them both in body and in spirit. He truly does mean well.

Celesto is often level-headed, and very well focused on his tasks and duties, which suggests he is somewhat of a work-a-holioc, or simply just overworked. One time, during Season 3, he hardly had slept at all out of concern for Celestia-- who was being threatened by Raven-- that Celestia, practially, demanded he take time off of work and get some rest, to which he, reluctantly, agrees.

While Celesto is considered and shown to be beneficent, understanding, and caring, he is not without anger and his patience have limits, There are many acts of which he will not tolerate in the slightest, such as bullying, petty theft, defiance of rules and regulations, and will not hestitate to carry out necessary discipline, if and when needed.

In Season 2, Lightning and Starla have a falling out due to a great misunderstanding, causing them to stop helping one another, and ignoring suggestions, which cause the kingdom much damage from a Changeling attack, and he punishes them so by suspending them for 100 hours and to do community service.

He angrily snaps at Celestia for calling off an attack on wounded Robot Leader without his consent, and then yells loudly for Ligthning and the others to stop insulting Celestia in his presence.

When Cadance constantly defies his and Celestia's orders to remain in the palace rather than confronting a Possessed-Fratello and nearly getting herself killed, they punish her by placing a force-field around the palace, preventing her from leaving.

In Season 3, he sternly puts his foot down when Twilight Sparkle protests his orders for no one to go after Raven. When Twilight defies these orders and chases the assassin, he threatens to have her busted in rank and sorely disciplined.

Celesto has a deep-seated hatred for evil and crime, as it cost him his parents, his home, and to be separated from his true love for over a millennium. This out of his concern for the well-being of others inspired him and prompted him to form Starfleet, to purge the universe of all evil and injustice. As a a result, his empires are kept as Law-Abiding worlds, whereas evil acts, crime, treason, ect, ect are not tolerated and will be dealt with however way seen fit.

Celesto can also be known to become extremely infuriated when facing enemies of despicable crimes. examples of this is in Season 1, when durring a battle with Titans, his cape is torn slightly in the middle, aggravating as the cape was a gift from Celestia, and his only keepsake of her. A ssuch, whenever his cape is damaged by a foe, he goes into a fit of rage and is determined to make that foe suffer for violating his garment.

During the battles against King Pinsar, whom long ago, murdered Starlight Braveheart, sparking Celesto's lust for revenge, and he is prone to fits of anger when Pinsar is around or causing trouble.

Sometimes Celesto is shown to exhibit uncertainty or doubts when faced with grueling decisions, and often is forced to make decisions that he himself is displeased with.

Such decisions include...

-Having to deceive his friends in order to teach a valuable lesson or succeed in a mission.

-Ordering that Fratello be destroyed, as there was no other option.

-Willing to sacrifice the life of another if the situation calls for it.

Celesto can also exhibit feelings of extreme concern for his friends and loved ones, especially when their lives are in danger. Examples are, when Celestia is threatened by Raven, or when she is ill from disease. He cannot bear the thought of losing her again.

When Twilight Sparkle is dead and being cremated, his shows strong emotional silence while at the service, and then sadly eulogies her death tot he team.

While grieving over the long death of Starlight Braveheart, despite all the facts told to him by the team, and accepting it wasn't his fault, Celesto laments that is still haunted by guilt and nightmares.

"Knowing all these facts, don't stop y nightmares."

When Princess Cadance's son is stillborn, he exhibits high expressions of crushing sadness and grief for Cadance, lamenting how things turned out they way they were despite all the efforts taken to ensure safety.

As a Husband/Father/Brother-In-law

Celesto is very loving and caring towards his family.

He was willing to forgive Princess Luna for her evil side throwing him out into space, and he treats Celestia as a most precious object to him, and his children of equal worth.

As husband to Celestia, and Brother-in-law to Princess Luna, he treats them both equally. They all co-rule the planet together with equal force, and often debate on decisions and what actions are to be done.

As Celesto is Commander-in-Chief of Starfleet, all final decisions and major orders are his to make, but as Celestia and Luna are co-commanders, and he does believe in equal rights, he is willing to take suggestions and hear what they and others have to say to help him decide better, but only if he is properly notified first.

As a father to Castor and Leilani, not many scenes are shown of the children, but Celesto is shown to be very loving and nurturing towards them since they were born, and as they get older he is shown to be patient with them when they run and act wild, or don't wish to go to bed. It is never seen or shown if he punishes the children at any point in the series.

MAGIC/ABBILITIES

As an Alicorn with three horns, Celesto is exceedingly powerful-- implied and shown to be even stronger than Celestia-- not only is able to raise the sun and moon himself as he did on Unicornicopia, but his other powers have proven to be vastly unfathomable.

-He is able to conjure hollow barriers around wide and multiple areas at once. He was once shown to have projected a protective barrier over the entire Dark Planet in attempt to keep Lord Titan imprisoned, but this move is implied to be a combination of his own magic as well as magical generators that he maintains. This skill has not been reused since the first season as it is shown to put a strain on Celesto's strength and rendering him unable to assist in most battles.

-Celesto is able to fire ordinary energy blasts, capable of reducing whole buildings and mountains to rubble with only a fraction of his power.

-As he possesses rare golden horns, he is able to unleash and tap into the power of the Uniforce, and due to his having three horns instead of one, his uniforce is said as it's name implies, "Ten-Fold" to the power of Lightning's uniforce, and most others. But like all those who have this power, he was required to train hard and strengthen himself to be able to use this force throughout, at the risk of weakening him to the point of exhaustion.

-He is able to communicate with spirits of Gods, only when the need comes, to ask them for advice on situations even he cannot understand.

Even without the use of his magic, Celesto is shown to be a master fighter in combat, martial arts, swordsmanship (This this is usually seen only in flashbacks) and other forms of battle. He is very swift, strong, and cunning, able to punch large hills into dust with a swing of his fist alone if given enough power.

His endurance have given him a high tolerance to physical pain, and certain levels of temperature, either hot or cold. though when up against a powerful foe that is actually able to match his strength, he can feel pain and will collapse to exhaustion when overly beaten.

-His strength is massive enough that he is able to lift large objects, such as skyscrapers or small mountains over his head with his bare hands, and able to throw them vast distances!
