If I made a more 'epic' type story, would people care anymore? · 8:55am Sep 18th, 2019
'Epic' as in the vein of stories like GanonFLCL's Crisis: Equestria (which is what got me writing mlp fanfics here in the first place), would anybody still be around long enough to care? It would take me a few days to come up with something if I knew more than five people still read stories here.
I should probably finish the two I already started, but the incentive to write anything has sorta shriveled up and died with all my attempts at becoming a real author failing (among other things).
Still here. Not reading all of your works but what I have read, dear me and man to mate pop into mind, was fun to read.
I’ll certainly be reading fanfics for a decade or so.
Man to mare was by far one of your best, which is saying something seeing as ive yet too read a bad story from you, an epic story may just suck in some more readers, and probably make the few still interested happy
i'm still here and plan to for a long time and iv enjoyed your stores that iv read i plan to read more of your stores in the future
Still here and interested in what kind of epic you could come up with.

Well, my first attempt was that Blood story (the one right after FMTM), but I stopped it because I realized I didn't have the talent at the time. Got way too excited by Crisis: Equestria. the second one was IRM. If I fully rewrite that one, it could become as I wanted it to be, honestly.
I like your stuff regardless if its a one-shot or a series. Though I think constantly trying to become a bigshot professional author isn't the best plan. If you can't make big bucks writing that's not a reason to stop altogether. I think what you have is fun.

I've been writing on fimfic this whole time to improve my writing tremendously and, originally, get a small fanbase so I know that what I write is good. I'm still shocked to see that I ever got to 1k, let alone past that. But, the primary goal was always to become a professional author because I want to share as many stories as I can with as many people as I can before I die. I love seeing people's reactions to my work. Plus, I might inspire some new authors in the future as well. Wouldn't that be fun?
Still livin', still readin' yer stuff, and awaiting more to come!
But like someone else here stated, perhaps you're stressing yourself out more by thinking that you need to create a fanbase, and that you have the need to start something great like that. Things like these need much luck to happen in that exact way. But regardless of what's gonna happen, still gotta read through your works.

I thought you caught the dieded.
I already got a fanbase here, though.
And as you say, I have no luck. That's been proven to me too many times irl, but I was too stubborn to accept it.

I wasn't generalizing on the "no luck" part there.
But yeah, I'm still alive and well. But as you know me, I do have the lurker-sickness.
I'd be interested at least, even if I have less time to read nowadays
I think that building the character is more important than the epic side of the story even if it takes a little bit. Like your stories about Silver that I really appreciate.
But the most important thing is to stay true to your writing desires.

I combine both. That's what I meant by 'epic'.

In that case, do a test. Try the new style to see if you like it and if readers also like it on a new story.
Good continuation!

Nobody cared when I talked about IRM, so I'm not sure what to do anymore.
