I'm Actually Writing Stuff · 3:04am Sep 16th, 2019
So, it's been a while since I said I was going to write stuff, and then never did, but the good news is I'm actually working on the introduction to the next arc! I'm hoping to get it out later this week, actually. This arc will hopefully give me a chance to start branching out into a wider cast of characters, and a few years of writing will have helped me hone things a bit. I'm excited, and now that I started I got motivation to try and be at least somewhat regular on posting. Still in grad school, though, as academic job market didn't work out, so things are busy as ever as I continue dissertation/journal articles, teaching, and job search. But hey, if I have time to write RP posts, I can find time to write fanfiction. And just to prove it, here's a snippet of probably my favorite bit of dialogue in this chapter:
“I mean, don’t get me wrong, I love being your apprentice, and I maaaay have used the social status that comes with that to score some box seats at a magic show for free.”
“Wait, you did you what?”
“Not important.”
Luna made a note to ask Star Breaker which establishment had done this so that she could properly refund them later.
“But, the thing is, if Blueblood does have a thing against me, using you to get around it will just make it worse. It’d be, like, when you’re a kid who isn’t popular at school so your mom goes around and talks with the other moms that then make their kids hang out with you. Then, because they were forced to hang out with you, they now dislike you even more and think you’re a tattle-tale.”
“Did…did that happen to you?”
“Magic kindergarten. Which means I got the experience to know that the best way to deal with this is to stand up to him myself,” Trixie said, nodding firmly. “And I got a plan.”
